- www.tedxeuston.com Her Royal Highness, The Nnabagereka (Queen) Sylvia Nagginda Luswata is the wife of the King of Buganda, King Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II. She is a traditional and cultural leader of the people of Buganda, the largest Kingdom in Uganda occupying almost a quarter of the country, with a population exceeding 7 million people. The Nnabagereka's main focus areas are early childhood care and development; education for girls; vocational training and employment for the youth; empowerment of women, health issues particularly regarding maternal health, the prevention and cure of childhood diseases, nutrition, and sexual reproductive health including the prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS. She has played a major role in sensitizing and mobilizing the general population on issues of education, health, poverty eradication, culture preservation, and has graciously supported and empowered marginalized groups of youth, women and persons with disabilities. She established the Nnabagereka Development Foundation (NDF) whose mandate is to contribute to uplifting the living standards of all people. In May 2008, the Nnabagereka was chosen by The Netherlands through the Royal Danish Embassy as one of the inspiring women in Uganda to be a torch bearer for the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), to promote (MDG3) which is about gender equality and women's empowerment.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized
Nnabagereka's story was so inspiring and she delivered it superbly. She was over the top in presentation, content quality and audience capture. Just two words. Impressive and Outstanding.

Maama Nabagereka you are so articulate and you are good at public speaking. Please come out and explain to us, what you are planning to do about the king's health. We need to know the measures you have taken to make sure that he recovers quickly. [Embeera ya Kabaka enyunguza amaziga]. I am sorry to be a pain, but many of us are concerned.
My dea you need to know, you as who? Those who matter already know so who are you?????
African culture being watered down by Eurocentric paradigms that were assumed to be effective in every sphere for leadership is what has led to the low levels of African societal development. Tradition and cultural leadership are integral parts of the African society and their influence mustn't be undermined. You rock Queen. Please do more. We honor you.
This is beautiful! I first met her when she came to USA in Washington DC. Thank you for such an eloquent speech. Feeling proud!

Did you ask yourself how she kept silent on kabaka’s illness and whatever was going behind the curtains😭 how can a woman keep this silent when the king is tortured.
@@arabmoney3339 if we have no clue about what’s happening we have no rights to conclude anything, let’s give them time to settle whatever problem it is , when it’s time for us to know what’s truly happening, we’ll know
