Will Patriots Be One of the Worst Teams in NFL?

I'm fine with the Maye pick, but a ton of people were saying we had to pick a QB because we would never be picking that high again. And I was scratching my head the whole time, like who says we won't be picking that high again?
Yeah but it's nice to have another high pick WITH your franchise QB already on the team. That opens you up to so many options, trading for more assets, taking a top tackle/WR, etc.
Yup and next year's QB class is supposed to blow
The defense will be solid, so their fortunes depend on three things. The offensive scheme being good, OL play being improved/good, and of course QB play. If those three very related things pan out, they're going to be a decent team. If any of those 3 fail, they're really F'd.
Best case scenario, we win seven games. Worst case scenario, maybe two or three. All we can really hope for is that the team, especially the rookies, look promising.
I’m fine with another year of picking early. Stock the roster with young talent for years to come.
Do we really give a fuck at this stage? We've seen it all with this team. Any more titles are just icing on the cake
I think fans who buy season tickets and watch the games deserve a competitive team. The Krafts keep cheeping out, won't invest in better talent and didn't approach the coaching and GM situation with any real plan. It seems they are content with their 6 titles...
They were bottom three last year, and they replaced the best coach in NFL history with a rookie coach. Of course, they are among the 3 worst teams in the NFL
I seem to remember folks were predicting pats get 7 - 9 wins in 2023 this time last year. I knew then that 7 wins from with Jones under center was a stretch. My point is who really knows
Mayo wanted the job. Now we'll see if he can last one season. Maybe he is an ML Carr hire.

Felgar and Mass to their own devices are brutally negative and it gets tedious. Add Perillo and suddenly Mazz isn't out looking to take scalps.
I like the tone of this. Who cares what projections are it's not like they are ever consistently correct as witness the Texans.
The Pats aren't going to win a lot but that doesn't mean they can't be entertaining. No more noodle arms Brissett, Maye and Milton have cannons. Get decent line play and if the defense isn't on the field most of the game the Pats may actually be able to move the ball and score over 10 points.
Yea those are real goals to shoot for. Your team can go to 11...
I’m a huge patriots fan . I hope they have a fair season. But I’m a huge Celtics fan to , we are city of champions. Patriots years . Are years to come
I would much more prefer right now if Belichick stayed, brought back McDaniels, was forced to allow a GM/Director of personnel do the drafting and FA contracts, drafted Marvin Harrison jr, and a LT.

These projections are ridiculous! Many of the same people who are predicting doom are the same people who thought they had a decent or better draft and praised them for resigning there core players. They won 4 games with an awful offense and 2 wrecked QBs and came close to winning several other games. The defense is at least top 10 and could build itself into elite. Jacoby Brissett is not a superstar by any means but he has proven to be a legit starting NFL QB. He can do enough to keep you competitive with a strong defense. They may win only 4 or 5 games but they could do significantly better if things go their way.

I think the Pats could shock everyone and go like 7-10 or even 8-9. They're playing with house money and Drake Maye can just sling it. Guaranteed he'll be WAY better than Mac. IF the WR corps can somehow overachieve, with their top 10 defense, they could really surprise people & possibly finish ahead of Miami in the AFC East.
I doubt Maye will start. Zero experience at QB and coach. It matters.
Well drake maye can learn from their veteran qb they signed Jacoby brissett so drake maye will probably be a backup so he can learn which if you think about it’s actually kind of smart to make a qb that got drafted learn from the veteran qb

They've really done nothing right in the last 5 years. Brady's last year was the start of it. As it stands right now it's not looking any better.
They had terrible drafts and roster decisions starting with the garappolo trade imo. Actually their drafts have been bad since about 2014. Most of their 1st round picks are misses

This is the result of time and time again over the last 5 years...Patriots bad Bill drafts/FA project picking/letting good players walk. This was all expected post Brady.

U guys predicting we won’t win more than 4 games really don’t know nothing!! We had a bratty qb with a noodle arm but nobody want to admit it but wanted to crush cam newton and he won way more games with wayyyyy less talent on offense brisett and maye & Milton have better arms and are better qbs just let the play on the field dictate your thoughts like god

They're doomed. This season will be like the worst Pat's teams of the last century. How many positions have s starter that is even league average? They're doomed.
Worse than last season?
Almost every defensive starter is league average or better. On offense, Stevenson RB, Henry TE, Andrews C are league average or better. QB Maye & Onwenu G/T could prove league average or better. Only glaring shortcomings are OL spots & WR corps, when you look at it your way.

@@chipsteve Hardly. You just described a 10+ win team. The running back is the only player on offense league average or better. About 1/3 of the defense is league average. There is a rookie coach who didn't pick his own staff. The Patriots are going to need a ton of luck to win 4 games. Realistically, they might not win a game. They're doomed.
Look the team was not bad in 2021 they had more accidents and blew some of them games in 2022
