Seems like every time I find myself focusing on a new area I wish to improve in my art one of your videos pops up on that topic. I don't recall ever drawing simplified pictures as a child (I'm sure I was forced into it a time or two but I didn't draw much because I didn't like it! :)) I recall being confused and discouraged when I did try to draw - I couldn't understand why I couldn't make things look right, even for a cartoon. I've never done well trying to follow rules for drawing. I find myself not so much wanting instructions how to make the marks (as you say, it's pretty useless) but trying to absorb how you translate from reference to your own marks... The more I see someone tackle issues that are difficult (for me) the easier it is to get the 'gist' of one or more ways to approach the general problem/puzzle. It's no small reason why I watch your videos. Thank you! :)
