- In this video I go over several common mistakes that could be making you lose Zero Build matches in Fortnite Chapter 5. I share what I've learned after playing a lot since Chapter 5 dropped and the mistakes I was making early on. If you want to win more in Fortnite and get more crowns than making this mistakes less can play a big part in winning more games. It's so true about "peaking from the same angle" over and over. I see so many players do that all the time and it's a perfect recipe to get headshot sniped!
Agreed, but I do purposefully throw in the odd left hand peak, specifically because everyone expects right hand peaks!

The biggest thing about Fortnite that players always mess up on is getting to excited your heart beating out of your chest you have already lost that fight, you got to learn to control that. Once you learn how to stay calm under pressure that’s when you start hitting your shots and winning 50/50 battles.

I might be the only one here but to me the main mistake that makes me lose mainly ALL my games is dying to another player

My issue with the riot shield is the break point to stun the opponent seems very inconsistent. Sometimes it takes little to no ammo to break, other times you have moments where you're dumping a few AR mags and it refuses to budge.
Maybe the riot shield has a 'headshot' zone.

yup ive died that to that today. was trying to spray a riot shield user with my striker ar and nothing happened and so i died
@@DetectiveConan990v3I heard shotguns do better against riot shields try jumping over them repeatedly the reason the riot shield is balanced is cause the pistol isn’t very good
@@watchdog4454 use frenzy shotgun so it goes faster = more bullet per second = more ouch per second
One small tip, when you kill a player dont immediately walk to their loot, its a habit i have and always have had, but especially from og season people only fight in 3rd party fights. So they will shoot you after youve won your fight.

On the other hand...wait too long and more risk to get third partied. Always a judgment call but I prefer to run around and loot and get out fast. Last night I arched down to pick up Nisha´s striker after a fight and got insta-sniped back to the lobby as nr 8. Fun. Much more fun too be the sniper there.

Huge facts, there's always someone lurking watching you battle. Also even the person who won the battle may have reduced health/shield.
The biggest thing that I do that is wrong is push people too hard without getting opening tags on them.
Yep I do the same thing I just try to destroy them without opening tags and I die quite often because of that lol

I definitely need to learn to use cover. I often just come across a player, and just 50/50 them while jumping to avoid their shots, hoping my aim is better than theirs.

Pressing fire key with grappler does a melee attack that 1 shots riot shield. Feel like a lot of ppl don’t know this. Great way to deal with those shielders. Adds more value to grappler vs other movement options as well.

For me it's not knowing how to counter overly aggressive players and i also tend to tunnel on one person and then get shot by 3 people at once. I also sometimes find myself Ego Challing someone sniping when I don't have to, but i been working on that lately.
What's helped me avoid being pressured by multiple people at once is identifying good positions in zone/the poi I'm at. Grabbing forecast towers is almost a must for me, and I can give countless examples of times it has paid off for me
ive been taking way to many 50/50 shotgun fights and then just freeze up / dont move enough during shotgun fights

I run a sniper without any scope this season, and it's worked well for me. Basically turns it into a KILLER AR. For me, I think I need to just improve on knowing when to pressure and when not to pressure in end game situations.
I also think its sniper with no scope is good, but if they increased the zoom when ads’ing, it would be busted
@@Storm_Victory Honestly, I seem to do better without a scope. Even from far range. I got a CRAZY sniper shop not too long ago. A 122m distance kill. After that, I was sold on the iron sight sniper lol

I’m way more comfortable with sniping now, I use to carry bunkers for my third slot, but decided to swap it with a sniper and take natural cover. The only time I ever 50/50 players is in endgame when they approach my hiding spot since they’re unsuspecting.
It’s nice to see truly good videos. I see too many CZcams vids that are unfortunately bad once I get into them. I really like how you stay on topic, say what you mean, you are intentional with tips that actually make sense, and you’re articulate. Way too often I see people giving ‘tips’ when they are actually just reciting gaming terms in general and it either doesn’t make sense or worse, it sends watchers in the wrong direction and overconfident thinking it was great.

My main mistake is for sure tunnel vision, not knowing when to hold back or to assess the situation infront of me before reacting and jumping in blindly
Snipers are truly something to worry about this season. You really have to keep moving at all times, or be in a car or in cover a lot. Oddly enough, I won a match yesterday using a mythic sniper from WAAAYYY far away. I mean, like a half mile. Probably only my second match win ever using a sniper.
Close range shotgun fights and unable to find contistent damage for the pump especially for ground loot

My biggest issue is not having a consistent drop spot and pushing a kid with a auto shotgun and just hoping I kill him first and also using the car as cover I never do that I just hop out and start blasting your videos help me a lot I appreciate what you do keep up the good work I’m definitely subbing for sure!!! Attachments are key. Give me the striker AR and sniper upgraded to my preferences and my chances of winning fights increases. It’s just difficult to get to the vaults a lot of the time given a lot of them are on the edges of the map (putting them in the storm early on) or hotly contested on the drop.
My oldest son just introduced me to Fortnite about a month ago... Not sure if his mother will ever forgive him... I am not great, but not terrible either. I figured out pretty quick to just avoid the 50/50 scenarios and (if at all possible) only start fights on my terms. If I get tagged, I try to know when to hold em and when to fold em. My favorite loadout is Striker w/ vertical grip + brake, Frenzy / Thunder Burst w/ laser + brake, Reaper w/ Acog (I think they call it "P2X") + Suppressor. Then shield and Meds. I want to start working on mobility. Haven't done much with grapple / shock waves yet. Super fun game though!

Dying to the mythic auto shotgun and coming second every other game
My bugaboo is probably not having a movement mechanic toward end game. If the last team is sweaty and you don't have one, odds are you lose.
I use the octane skin for sport cars, because is taller and can give you more cover than the default skin
Something I have been wondering is does the medallion circle center on the player or could they be even on the edge of the range. I find that it tends to update relatively frequently nearly centered right on them, so the size of the circle doesn’t really matter because I can assume a smaller circle
I think that they’re always like right in the middle for the medallions, unlike the bounties. So yeah, medallions are honestly complete shit when you think about it like that, because yeah it is basically in the center so it’s so easy to find medallion players

for me it’s just getting third partied and also sometimes i forget to reload my shotgun 😅
Really should work on improving my aim. It's probably an attitude problem too. I do tend to panic a bit in close range fights, which leads to my aim going all over the place. I also sometimes go in without any opening hits too, which leads to 50/50 fights as you mentioned. A good tip too is to always check the load on weapons you pick up. I got the drop on a player recently. Was right behind him and I'd just picked up a purple auto shotgun. Unfortunately it only had one shot in the mag so my easy kill didn't go as I anticipated. He took the hit and then used the ballistic shield to end my game 😄
Are guns that you pick up not automatically reloaded for you? I thought that had been a thing for a long time, even on people you elim’d

So what I kind of like to do is place a 90 and then do a for next to it and then do a stare and then pretend that I’m going onto the other side but where we just stay and catch them off guard with the snipe

Attachments are great but could be like pubg and get the different items on the ground would be great!! There is only a few locations on the map where you can custom your weapon!!

Snipers need an adjustment, wouldn't mind seeing the auto shotguns nerfed as well. I think snipers should be only from vaults or otherwise only in legendary versions because 90% of people are carrying one and in zero build the game is just a snipe fest which is fine, but I think they're too important in the current meta. Auto shotguns are hugely powerful too but I don't even know how they go about addressing that, probably a fire rate reduction would be a good start.
The shield is also free wins in 90% of circumstances, I have no idea what they were thinking when they added it tbh, you just push up on someone and when they switch to something to spray you just shotgun them
My main issue is getting second place a ton this season. My duo partner always goes down and it’s me vs 2 sometimes I clutch and take out one with a snipe or tag but I typically only am able to kill one on average and or get lucky and win the game. This season I’m at 14% win rate for duos on What could I do better to win in those scenario’s?
I'd say mobility to get out of the danger zone. Then go back for the reboot card.

The thing that screws me over is when ppl have the 4x scope on the ar. I keep thinking they have a sniper and it really sucks

The medallions do track the player in the center of the circle. The bounties are the ones not in the middle of the circle. At least that's my experience so far.
My issue is how me and another sniper are just locked in a spot and I can't scope down and precise enough but for some reason they will be behind cover and instantaneously as they peek I'm dead because somehow they managed to aim and hit me idk how
To counter riot shield i just just a grenade type thing so the dud has to take cover, then i use ar.

Do you prefer to use an ar or smg for medium range weapon, I think both can be good at times.
In zero build def ar. In builds I wouldnt mind using shotgun smg sniper that much. I had used the burst smg instead of the ar in zb and it went fine but Id rather have the ar
don't overlook the pistol as well. it's a great segway between ARs and SMGs because of its high fire rate and DPS. Pretty sure Jake talked about it in one of his other videos. I always run frenzy pistol sniper if I can

The 2x p2 sharp shooter scope has glare in my games so I use the halo 1.5x.
I just started playing fortnite in December and climbed to diamond 1. But now I feel like I’m just getting BOPPED in my 1v1s

I'm getting out sniped, been improving but some people are just so fast on the scope. There have been 3 or 4 times this season where I've been head shot on a quick peek and seriously the glint only showed for a half second or less its like they tapped the aim and shot is there some kind of aim assist idk about or is this skilled players playing on keywords? The first thing I do wrong is pick up the controller because I'm awful - then because I watch jake and listen I suddenly think I can do everything he does with the same swagger..... turns out I'm not jake I'm dead and loading the next one 😂
The grapple hook attack is not blocked by the ballistic shield
The mistake I keep making is going out in the open at any given point during a match and getting immediately head shot sniped
The mistake is that I always try to land hotspots with bosses and try to rush the boss but end up getting eliminated now I land at unnamed locations near the boss POIs
I never peak the same angle and i never expect the other player to either lol

The issue i am having this season is the hammer pump, it has the worst fire rate in the game and everytime i use it, after i shoot someone in close range it takes 10 seconds to shoot again and by the time i shoot it again i am already 10 hp
