    Yay a flathead made the video!!! I think he let go when he felt the walleye fisherman's disappointment... Was hoping those white bass would have been there again at sunrise, but you still had a decent go of it. Thanks for sharing another fun video sir! 😍

      It’s funny because I’ve been trying to catch flatheads with little success. Just so happens I catch one when I’m not trying.

    Awesome video. I have never caught Walleye on a fat crankbait. Gonna try some out

      The fish were feeding on Shad and the crankbaits I was using matched the Shad well.

    Another good video. Fishing LD3 is a lot different than fishing LD 5 or 6 (I think that's your spot). We have the lock on one side of the island and the dam on the other but fishing is still pretty good (usually). Primary technique up here is Dubuque rigs with some vertical and some jig trolling. Come up and see us sometime.

      It’s interesting the different techniques that people use depending on the stretch of river that you are in.

      Fishing lock and dam 25 is much different!

      @@johntomblingson7451 used to be better years back. Even for white bass & paddlefish. Then those asian carp took over

    Just amazing! Another great video…in the dark no less! Do you think a jigging Rap fished in a little deeper water would have gotten the negative fish to hit?

    • @AnglerX
      @AnglerX  Před 2 lety

      Thanks! I think a jigging rap is a good option for summer walleyes. I don’t have a lot of experience with them.

    You must be up north. It's much deeper there at the dam near me.

    • @AnglerX
      @AnglerX  Před 2 lety

      This situation is unique to this dam. Other dams in the area are deep in that area relative to the gates.

  • @mattioder

    Is the water clearer than normal this time of year?

    • @AnglerX
      @AnglerX  Před 2 lety

      As long as the heavy rains stay away the water runs pretty clear.
