Jamaica - teachers and parents complain about the Education system but fail to get together and PROTEST, so the Ministry is forced to find a proper solution. How can a country expect to produce respectable citizens when the Gov't does nothing to protect teachers or students to teach and learn in a positive environment? I'm assuming the same Gov't response...Jamaica can't afford it. But Gov't/Ministry can afford what it chooses to once it benefits them lol. Nothing will change, if anything, it will get worst. Our youth is our future - looking bleak. Yes, teachers are under paid. Not EVER teacher should be a teacher! Seen too much abuse of children in the Primary school level. Very sad. Developing angry children and perpetrating w/ some the abuse they already suffer at home/community. Teachers should not have to deal w/ the level of disrespect. If the teen cannot abide by the program, then the parents should be required to pay for additional teaching services, unless the child suffers from a mental issue. Respectful behaviour should be a requirement to attend any High School. Positive behaviour, manners, proper communication style.......should be the CORE teaching tool taught from Basic and continued in the Primary School. Maybe start there!!!
