- FLY FISHING for bonefish and barracuda on Yucatán Peninsula with a bike is an amazing way to get from place to place easily without a vehicle. In this film, my wingman Brian O'Keefe talks to locals about finding the best fly fishing hotspots while riding an old rusty bike in search of bonefish. He not only finds bonefish, but he also pulls poppers in the mangroves for some GIANT barracuda! This fly fishing video was filmed over 12 years ago and was pulled from the Catch Magazine Vault of films to kick off our 2021 Run of Films starting this May.

Without hot-spotting or giving away specific locations, does anybody know the general location of this area? My mother in law (mi suegra) lives in MX so we will be visiting soon and often.
No problem. We were between Casa Blanca and Playa Blanca lodges in Mexico.
Punta Allen, Quintana Roo. 50 km on a dirt road from Tulum to the far southern side of the Sian Kaan National Park. Rent a Jeep, because it’s an ugly ride. The road is pretty ugly. Try to stay in a decent lodge. Guides are mostly drugaddicts. If you ask me, go to Cozumel. Less hassle and better ambiance.
