A royal secret became a scandal only after Frederick was caught in action on camera with a woman in Madrid.
With that female in Madrid, Frederick CHANGED his cloth in her apartment first before having a long good time with her ALONE, then SLEPT over night in her apartment. None of which activities was on his royal agenda nor in Demark Embassy in Madrid.
It was a royal secret; Based on record, Frederick has had secret, nonofficial trips to Madrid every year for several years. Also, there was YOUTBE report in the past that Queen Margrethe had concern for then princess Mary working hard ALONE while Frederick was in foreign country.
Finally, Queen Margrethe did (a 2nd) smart move by putting Mary as the queen consort / stopping that woman becoming another "Camila" in Demark!

Frederik is very lucky to have crown princess Mary for his wife. He ought to give her his total love and fidelity, nothing less. Given all the privileges and luxurious life given to royalties only on account of being born to it, the least they can do is to be good role models to their constituents for decency and upright living.

0:14 There is only one monarch, not two monarchs. Frederik will be the monarch. Mary is just a consort to the monarch. Royal consorts do not have regnal numbers. So there is no "Queen Mary I".

It is probably partly due to Princess Mary's popularity that the Queen abdicated the throne. They must be concerned when there is scandal such as Frederik and Genoveve. The people love Mary and she will be an asset to the royal family and Denmark when she becomes Queen.

Frederick is still lucky to be at 82%, thanks to the strategic and smart move of his mother Queen Margareta otherwise it will trail down more if the issue of infidelity isn't overshadowed by the abdication and the respect the Danes have for Queen Margareta & his wife Mary. Sorry but she looks more like a monarch than consort. I mean not physically. Hard working royal, smart, responsible ect. The rumors are not unfounded. Nor was it about a dinner. It was about him spending the night in her apartment.

Yes, our royals are very popular, but Mary is not the most popular. The Queen and the Crown Prince are the most popular. Mary is not going to be Queen Mary the first. The notion is ridiculous. She is not going to be a Queen Regnant, but a Queen Consort. Crown Prince Frederik will become the reigning monarch.
The Queen is NOT stepping down due to some unfounded rumors about an alleged affair in foreign trashy media. Foreign media are always trying to get some dirt on this Royal couple. They have a solid marriage, and continuously support each other. Danes know this, we don’t buy into the rumors at all.
Don’t you think our own media would be all over this story if it was true? It would be headline news and it isn’t. Only one trashy Danish magazine has even mentioned the rumors.
