I know it's an old video but for a light car, aren't there much thinner and lighter shocks around? also ones that look cooler. Mountain bike style. Although they might not have been as common then
Am I seeing a conventional block and rear axel? What was the donor vehicle?
I miss my locost build... had to leave it when I moved last :(
freakin amazing. i'm considering a locost build now. i've got 2 project cars right now im in the process of building, an '03 mustang (wanna convert from strut to double wishbone up front) and an '89 camaro i wanna do the same thing along with an LM7 or LQ4 swap. if i do a locost, I wanna do something like a GT40 or GTM with a chevy truck motor (LQ4 would be sweet)
Finally someone who doesn’t say one brand is bad. I hate when people do that
Thanks dude.
Perhaps this might sound odd, but how tall & how heavy are you?
Because I find people build cars around themselves.
❤️❤️❤️❤️
where did you get the shocks?
shadapppp!
the 2 controller arms (the A´s) should be the same size
where the finished result ?
@mpereztwomx ,
Read a book about "Front Wheel Geometry"!
Then come back again!
hi, i like very much your model i like know if you are disposed to lend me the planes of your go kart, i'm mechanic and i want to do one this it.
It doesn't look very adjustable to me. The upper A-frame is too flat, it needs to have the ball joint higher than the mount. Done your way the camber will go negative on the inside tire if there's any body roll. Multiple mounting points for the coilover will allow wheel rate changes without swapping springs. Stand it up and it's stiffer, move it in on the lower a-frame and it's softer. I like a lot of caster, it makes for favorable camber curves. Your lower a-frame looks awfully puny. The reason lowers are so much stouter than the upper is the lower has to handle the lion's share of forces shoved into the chassis in most cases. The position of the spindle on the knuckle is what determines that, and most have the spindle down near the lower ball joint.
@FrankypankyV8 lol
shock isnt upside down at all
OK
это получится какой то сундук ,не забывайте о дизайне
ur control arms are not properly placed. to much obvious description and not enough gettin on with the show! nice shocks though and no cheesy music so props on that!
Don't comment on something you don't know anything about, this is the same as my plans, if both top and bottom are same size your wheel will obviously have huge amount of positive camber.

Also isn't it more elegant to have non adjustable suspension geometry? simpler, stronger, lighter, cheaper and can't be set wrong. Just straight. camber and toe in are such ugly concepts.

I like and want to learn this subject to supply my people for much knowledge.
