@@screm1471 The bar for "competent" is just extremely low here, since every other gameplay vid I've seen of this is just completely new players with no strategy, or people just fucking around.
@@infamousshadow2 They probably don't learn the AI behaviors. The person playing is a Rain World addict and there's something that these two games share in common- complex AI that you have to learn mostly by dying. Considering he's used to Rain World, learning how the AI works probably came intuitively to him. That's probably why the people in this video learn effective strategies to avoid the monsters. Most people won't realize that there's anything to learn with the AI because generally in games there really ISN'T much to learn about them- it's a completely normal response to ingame threats to assume all you can do is run.

You can grab the hives and sell them, they're worth 130. Have one person lure the bees away and another to grab the hive. Once you have the hive lure the bees far away from the ship and run back, because the bees will chase the one with the hive unless they are too far away.
I've seen so many people play this game and it's so freaking fun to watch everyone's reactions to the monsters. I cannot express enough just how happy I am that Das played this
I strongly recommend playing the game Zeekerss made before this called The Upturned Hotel. It's single player but it does the horror vs comedy dance very well just like Lethal Company
This 101%, The Upturned is one of my absolute favorite horror games, me and a friend had a blast playing through it with him spectating me. Shrimp and Ik will always have a place in my heart.

Honestly the parallels between rain world and this game in terms of world/creature building means the audience overlap will probably continue to grow with time. Picked this game up with some friends b/c of you and absolutely loving it.
They have similarly good AI. The AI in this has little quirks that you have to figure out through gameplay as well as through the logs if you can scan them. And I'm not certain but it seems like most of the creatures are moving around even when you're not close to them, presumably so that you can have creepy encounters and need to stay quiet, and also to avoid them unfairly spawning right in front of you. I'm not 100% sure on that but it seems like they exist before you actually get close to them. If this is the case, that's another thing it has in common with Rain World.
They're also both very hard and punishing games that you need to play a lot to get good at.

Most of these can’t die, you can kill spiders, thumpers and brackens but only with help of stun gun but almost everything what I just said will kill you guaranteed

This is one of the most fun games I have watched in a while.
I know this is really off topic but I just realised, in your rainworld lore video you said that only intelligent creatures are stuck in the cycle but in the surivor campaign, five pebbles says:
"You're stuck in a cycle, a repeating pattern. You want a way out.
Know that this does not make you special - every living thing shares that same frustration. From the microbes in the processing strata to me, who am, if you excuse me, godlike in comparison."
If I recall I think he only posed that idea as a possibility, not as actual solid rain world lore.
But that said, I don't even think it's possible only intelligent things are stuck in the cycle, for the reason you listed, among other things.

About that though, Pebbles was projecting /hard/, he does a lot of that. My assumption is that yeah, everything lives in a cycle, but only suitably intelligent beings actually feel /trapped/ by it; even then, look at Rhinestones beneath Shattered Glass, the Undergrowth Echo. They're proof that not even all suitably intelligent beings feel trapped, he loved the Cycle and living so many lives.
Their dialog about "I did not have the will to depart, nor the desire." seems to imply that the leaders of the Ancients made it mandatory to join the Global Ascension, even if the individual didn't want to. Which also implies that the "All things must want to ascend" is a direct projection from the leaders of the Ancients, coded directly into their Iterators who then also project that thought upon 'lesser' beings like Gourmand.
In Gourmy's case Pebbles can assume that he doesn't care about ascending, and because of that Pebbles seems actively enraged, and insults his intelligence worse then any other slugcat, basically; "If you don't want to ascend then you must be a stupid animal, even dumber then the rest." Which seems like a hard-coded reaction to me.

As someone who has never played or watch lethal company: moons=maps, certain moons have different monsters, and the goal is to collect enough scrap and money so you can leave before you end up getting eaten. Is that right?
