- Hey everybody, it's DayVeeJay again, back with another classic PS1 game review and retrospective. This time it's the final part in my trilogy of reviews of the original Crash games on PS1: Crash Bandicoot: Warped. Is Crash 3 as much of an evil little cretin as its older brothers? It's crazy how the third crash game was coming out at the same time as the first Spyro game. I often forget about that fact. To tell you the truth, all the crash games are enjoyable. I never played through the first game until the nsane trilogy because I just couldn't get myself to use the d-pad and the original crash is the only one that does not use analog controls
I know what you mean. I keep thinking both Crash and Spyro 1 came out the same year. I think it's because graphics-wise they look about the same so I just assume Spyro is older than it actually is. To be honest, the original crash is actually easier with the D-pad since it makes it easier to move in a straight line. I noticed that when I was replaying it for the review. I tried using the sticks at first, but if you push them at a slight angle it can make you veer to the side which makes it easier to fall off the platforms, so I ended up just using the D-pad haha.
I never really understood why most people consider this their favorite Crash Bandicoot game. I like the second one best and I definitely agree the controls seem way more responsive in the second game
Yeah, I was a bit surprised when I saw Crash 3 leading so much in the poll. I mean, like I say it's a good game, but I just like Crash 2 just that little bit more.
Anybody else notice a theme with these leves?
The prirate levels=Uncharted 4
The east asia levels= Uncharted 2
The middle east levels=Uncharted 3/Lost Legacy
The Jet Ski levels=Uncharted 1
Makes me think those Future levels are in our Future at Naughty Dog
Keep up the good work. There are a few ps1 games that i would love if you could talk about them like: Einhander and Roll Away (Kula World). Kinda a hidden gems

Have you ever heard of Muppet monster adventure? It's basically a Spyro clone but it's a pretty good game
