Der 26. Dezember ist das traditionelle Konzertdatum des Ensemble Corund im KKL, das in der Jubiläumssaison besonders reizvolle Farben erhält: Stephen Smith wird das Musikkollegium Winterthur, dem das Ensemble seit Jahren verbunden ist, im KKL dirigieren. Das Ensemble Corund freut sich auf einen idealen Partner für dieses Fest höchster Gesangskunst!
Die inzwischen international gefragte Luzerner Sopranistin Regula Mühlemann wird die Solisten aus dem Ensemble um eine neue Farbe bereichern. Mozarts Grosse Messe, rahmensprengend, frei und wunderbar virtuos nach seiner krisenhaften Beschäftigung mit Bachs Werk und begonnen wohl als Votivgabe für seine Frau Constanze - sie sang die erste Aufführung - birgt für die Sänger, besonders aber für den Sopran unvergleichliche Soli.

@@hostlangr ŵas veranlasst Sie zu einer solchen Aussage? Sie ist schlichtweg falsch! Regula Mühlemann hat eine einzigartige reine und klare Sopranstimme und singt sehr Textrein und verständlich. Ich hatte selbst professionellen Gesangsunterricht und Sauger mir meine Worte nicht aus den Fingern. Fachleute und Verantwortliche im klassischen Musikgeschäft sind ebenfalls dieser Meinung. Ich hoffe, Sie können sich überzeugen lassen.

The influence of Handel's "I Know That My Redeemer Liveth" (Messiah) is evident in Mozart's composition of this piece.
Mozart was studying Handel's music at the time he wrote this sublime mass.

@@peterexner728, "in the past" ist auch diese Aufnahme. Es gab zwei herausragende Interpretationen 1981 im Kiliansdom und 1990 in Waldsassen; ebenso "in the past". Und es gibt einige mehr, die hervorragend sind.... z.B. in St. Egidien Nürnberg 2008....

Hard to find any current day singers who could beat this rendition! She sets the 'Regula Standard'. The result is utterly divine. Good breath control and phrasing, great timing. Also recommend the Barbara Bonney version.

Le plus incroyable est l'expression de son visage lorsqu'elle chante. Aucun effort, rien de forcé, tout est détendu et relâché. Une lecture mélodique, épurée mais expressive, Regula Mühlemann a littéralement le visage de ce qu'elle chante.

I love her. Her Fortés are a bit too fff, in my opinion, but if she gains in both insight & control of her instrument, Regula Mühlemann could grow into THE Mozartian soprano of her time. Are we not privileged to share it? 👏
Damn right we are! In Mozart's time, his and other kinds of music like it, were the sole reserve of the arrogant and greedy royal and religious aristocracy, which Mozart chafed under. For a time, the church totally forbade women like Regula to sing at all, opting instead to using sexually mutilated boys to sing soprano (castrano) range. Astounding.
She has one of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard. Listen to her role as Cleopatra in Hasse. Her voice seems ideal for baroque repertoire, especially the castrati repertoire. At the same time, she still has to work on some things, especially eliminate the frequent h's, in order to sing perfect legato. Her trills could also be much better, and in her high tessitura she sometimes loses quality on the top, it sounds a bit strained. But she still seems quite young, so I'm confident she will even improve more.
Measured criticism. Not sure how justified it is. But you are right about one thing - Regula has one of the most beautiful voices.

Ich verstehe nicht, warum jemand es notwendig findet, auf den
wohlwollenden Kommentar von "contraltissima" eine giftige Antwort zu
schreiben, nur weil er eine kleine Kritik enthält.
Regula Mühlemann ist eine sehr begabte und sympathische Künstlerin. Ich
habe sie kürzlich in der Münchener Philharmonie in der 8. Symphonie von
Mahler in der kleinen, aber exponierten Partie der Mater Gloriosa
gehört. Ihre Stimme ist schön timbriert und trägt auch im großen Raum
sehr gut.
Außerdem ist sie eine junge "Botschafterin" der Kunstmusik und kann hoffentlich viele junge Menschen dafür begeistern.
Aber was wahr ist, muss auch wahr bleiben, und dass sie nicht trillern
kann - und zwar wirklich gar nicht -, stimmt leider (noch?). Wenn man
sich dasselbe Stück von Sylvia McNair anhört (auf youtube unter czcams.com/video/SsYHAS36pC8/video.html), hört man, wie ein Triller klingen kann, obwohl McNair tendenziell eine größere und "schwerere" Stimme hat(te) als Mühlemann.
Da Regula Mühlemann sich anscheinend auf das klassische und barocke
Repertoire konzentriert (was bei ihrer Stimme eine ausgezeichnete
Repertoirewahl ist), wird sie gut beraten sein, ihren Triller zu
verbessern, um ihre ohnehin schon wunderbare künstlerische Statur weiter
zu perfektionieren.
Ich denke, der Ton macht die Musik! "Wann lernen Sie endlich mal trillern!" ist eine Ausdrucksweise, die man landläufig als "Anschiss" bezeichnet. Das mag vielleicht in einem direkten Ausbildungsverhältnis noch angehen, aber von einer "nobody" gegenüber einer Künstlerin von Weltrang ist das schlichtweg unverschämt! Sachliche Kritik kann man auch anders anbringen.
Bei meinen Konzertbesuchen sind mir das immer die Liebsten, die vermutlich selbst keinen geraden Ton herausbringen, aber mit spitzen Stift in der Partitur jede empfundene Unkorrektheit des Künstlers anstreichen.
