I agree; although Kirill is not entirely safe from criticism and he should be playing better, fans cannot put the blame solely on him because everyone else has been terrible. Unfortunately, our contracts are so restrictive that the only way to change things up was to let Dean and Woods go. I doubt Hynes will be with the Wild long term, but maybe its enough of a shakeup to wake the players up.

Dean was Bruce 2.0, here’s Bruce 3.0, another ok regular season coach that can’t win in the playoffs. More hugely disappointing moves by Billy G. He identifies a problem, gets rid of it and replaces it with a different version of the same problem. Bad clubhouse replaced with a different bad clubhouse. Bad signings bought out and replaced by more bad signings. Not sure how many times he has to do this to show that the Wild are going nowhere until he leaves or changes his approach.
@jerwur39l94 probably woodcroft or gallant. Idk why the Wild didn't elect an interim and do extensive interviews though. I guess because Hynes is Guerin's buddy
We have to see how this season plays out before we rush to judgement about Billy and John Hynes and this team. I think Craig Leipold wants to make the playoffs every year, but I think Billy's philosophy is, "Let's see how good this team can be during these worst 2 years of the buyout penalties"...it wouldn't be the worst thing if we missed the playoffs and got a lottery ticket for Celebrini or Eisermann
Here's a warning to Wild fans! Hynes won't get you a Cup! Look what he did in Nashville. However I'm willing to give him a chance in Minnesota because a change of scenery sometimes helps
This team is still suffering from those two buyouts. But I have to honestly agree with what he did. Sure you're going to suffer maybe one more year but after this when the salary cap goes up I think you're going to be able to afford a Top Line goalie and maybe three new players that will lift this team up the standings
Im not sure this is the guy. Hearing that he has ties with the GM and all the same teams other coaches have ties with, like Yo, this team is going to be a struggle for a couple more years until that cap space comes back the Owner cleans house.
Defense sucks but we have a good defensive team and that’ll probably revert back to the mean here soon. However, we need more offensive creativity… especially when entering on the rush. Get people into open shooting/passing lanes. Just look at the success the Avalanche or the Rangers are having by playing like that. Of course, those teams aren’t -14.7 milli in the hole, but it seems like he’s primarily a dump and chase coach (you’d think we’d learn by now) and we need to do more than crash the net or shoot from up top. Idc what it is… just get the puck off the boards. Teams are too good at getting it out of the zone fast.
Bridge year with Hynes I'm good with...finish this season as a tank so we at least get a solid 1st rounder out of this debacle. Other than that, this dude has no playoff pedigree, so....we'll see? This club needs a direction and something to build towards. If it's rebuild, so be it...trade Kirill ASAP, and build around Rossi and Faber
Tank, trade 97, get as much draft capital as you can. This cup window slammed shut. Never had it. See you in 3 years when these NMC extensions expire. Billy Buyout created this and doubled down. Its gonna take a long time to clean up.

What coach were you thinking of that was available just curious
