    In these times when fitness and image are so important, I think that Capoeira should be way more relevant. Is the only sport that works strength, stamina, endurance, coordination, speed and brute strength at the same time. And plus is so much fun!

      +Carlos Jesús Hernandez Silva appreciated, those ankle wraps, it helps for stability and keep the feet dry so the sweat wont come underneath your feet, mostly is a safety precaution.

    Good video, but how much time every part should last? I flow for warm up, then conditioning for shoulders and legs for 40-50' and finally technique kicking slow and controlled. In November I'll restart classes💪

    I started Capoeira around last August, stopped in November, and just picked it up again. I've picked it up very quickly, some of my instructors say I may be able to skip 2-3 cords next bautizado (I'm unranked at the moment). My question is, how can I begin to have more control? I feel like I rely too much on momentum instead of control and strength and it tends to make me lose control at times.
    Also, what exercises and drills can I do at the gym to generally improve my overall Capoeira?

    • @lenglithad77
      @lenglithad77 Před 7 lety +5

      i think i know what you're talking about. i used to rely on momentum to get my taekwondo kicks higher, and they would have absolutely no control or accuracy to them.
      now, i focus only on a height of a kick that is within my active range of motion. in other words, i eliminate all momentum and train specific techniques with slow kicking/movements to build the muscle strength and coordination to achieve control. I also think that flexibility may play a role in it.
      the only techniques you can execute with control are those techniques that you can (hypothetically) stop in mid-motion while still being able to hold your body in that position.
      tl;dr: train hard:)

    I think capoeira is very similar to bboying (or the other way around) and you would smoke many bboys with ease. They may have power but not control.

  • @interested.4185

    Have you ever thought to develop your technique and training into solid combat? Like real time counters. defense, offense, evasions? Strictly speaking outside the realm of Capoeira Regional and Angola. More in the practice of carioca? i'm asking because i think more modern Capoeira practitioners should take a step into this aspect to further preserve and expand the art form. I'm speaking about it as a pure and complete form of effective fighting.

    • @OfficialRAWTRICKS
      @OfficialRAWTRICKS  Před 7 lety +2

      +Anne Landers high level capoeiristas, practice full contact capoeira, i dont really post to much about it, eventually ill put some drills regarding counter attacks, footwork drills and similar stuff regarding pure capoeira combat
