- I got a call from a lady who was having trouble with her yard after a recent storm in the area. A Tornado blew a tree down onto her house so she was going to be leaving the house vacant for a while and was worried that people would think the house was abandoned if the yard didn't look upkept. So I said no problem, I got this! I also told her to please call me after her home is fixed so I can help with the backyard clean up.

Squatters are no joke. If you speak to this lady again, give her these tips. Have a neighbor park their car in her driveway. Also install timers on some lamps inside the home so it looks like someone is inside the home. I'm praying she gets her house fixed soon. Thank you for helping her out.

@@user-ti9ev3mt5iafter my first husband I was alone for several years. I had a cat and little dog which helped, but it was nice to walk in the house after work with the timers having the lights on. I wasn’t alone and I felt comfortable going into my home. I always parked in the garage so it never meant anything if the car was out or not, but having a neighbor parking there if you don’t have a garage is a good idea.
@@barbaramaxey4183 Yes, and I wish he would have trimmed them from the porch side too. And they tall one by the post.....I would have ran the trimmer behind the post and behind the plant too. Oh well, just my OCD talking. I physically can't do yard work anymore, but I used to.
I can't speak for everyone, but as far as *I* am concerned, I would much rather see an "easy" job that helps someone than a "massive" job on an abandoned property! Don't apologize for making videos like this... Keep up the good work!!!
What a world we live in that an elderly woman has to worry about someone taking her home. Squatting laws need to be revised in every state to prevent this. She was such a sweet lady. I watch a few channels (you’re still one of my favorites), and should you ever want to pick up a tip or two, Alex at Mow It Wells does hedges the best. Hey Tucker the city chose you to do this job because you have a good reputation. Nicely done 👏🏻
Also, Kustorez is excellent with trimming bushes. You should consider cutting them down to waist high so the owner can reach them. Also, taking away those bushes on both sides of the garage would be an improvement. They're just a place for people to hide behind. Less is better. Nice job.
@@tenstreet-007- My dad was a state trooper always said never plant bushes in front of windows or allow others to get over 4ft tall, never place couch with your back side to the street, keep cars locked and never think bad can’t happen to you!

Tucker - don't beat yourself up about hedge trimming. They do look much batter and at least you are willing to do the work - unlike her family, friends, and neighbors. You are so kind to help people like this lady. .

I can’t do yard work much anymore because I’m turning 64 this month and my mower is broken and I’m saving up to buy my last mower! I pay someone for now until I can get a new one! Hey buddy, looks pretty good on those hedges, not sure why you said that you didn't do very well, they were already offset, so what you were working with, turned out Nicely, , you know what your doing, don't sell yourself short 🌞 I think that turned into a bigger job than you really thought it was going to be 🤣😂🤣 with wrapping up hoses and moving statues and other things, not that it was a Hard job But just longer and more than you expected, but that's better for all of US 🥳👍 Well it turned out AWESOME for now until she can get the rest fixed up, you did your part for now, CYA NEXT TIME Be SAFE and OFCOURSE KEEP CUTTIN IT UPPPPP BROTHER 🔥🔥🚜😎✌️🚜

Glad you could help her out Tucker, I’ve been through this kind of stuff in 2020 with two hurricanes back to back! 6 weeks apart my friend, I know how it feels to lose everything you’ve spent your life building and within one night it’s gone! I still haven’t recovered from that, lost my workshop, fence and 11 trees in the matter of 8 hours and I hunkered down and stayed through it all with my dogs because I had nowhere to bring them! Scary night that I thought would never end and the dogs were terrified, laying down with me on the bathroom floor while the noise was happening outside! I’ve never been so scared in my life! I hope she at least evacuated, it’s definitely terrifying! And one of those hurricanes hit at 1:00 in the morning! I couldn’t wait fast enough until morning! I prayed all night long and my house was the only one around the didn’t suffer much damage but my shop was destroyed! I could only thank GOD for saving our lives! Lots of cleanup and we had to sleep in my truck for three days until I could get a generator and then finding gasoline and diesel for my truck! It was so hot and the humidity was awful! Mosquitoes were terrible! No electricity for two weeks!

The contractor may include clean-up of the debris in the back yard-but probably not the lawn maintenance. I’m sure It made it harder trying to mow where the tree trimmer left tire marks. And not sure if insurance pays to level n sod that area.
BTW: Not sure about LA laws(if that’s where the house is located) but the law in IL is if a neighbor’s tree falls, the neighbor’s insurance pays for the tree removal and repairs to the neighbor’s property damaged.

One thing about these hedges, it is difficult to kill them & they grow back & fill in rather quickly. For me making sure the tall ones are trimmed back off the house & even shorten them an extra 12” is a good idea. You are doing a fine job! 🌻

Hedges, hoses, a helping hand. Never discount the "little" things. They are huge for many, especially after something as tramatic as a tornado and/or tree down on a home. Good you were there. Gave her some peace of mind.

Those hedges hadn't been kept up too well, you did the best you could with what you had to deal with . . . and I got a GOOD laugh watching you trying to get that hose out from under that bush LOL If that house is near where you work, I'm sure you will check on it from time to time while she is away - you are "that" kind of person - that Red Cross worker was guessing you were kind too, just by how you were interacting with the homeowner - he could tell !!!
