So can we preserve the DNA of all the organisms in the biosphere, so that even if they become extinct we can recreate them. I read somewhere that, the species extinction happening right now is at a rate that we might not even know a species and it would become extinct, this method can be life saver then. Also can we preserve our own DNA for later, that when the technology is advanced we can be regenerated, but see again the question arises that would it really us or some other being with same genome but different conscious ?? WOW...
There certainly are species that are going extinct before being discovered in places like the rainforests. Hopefully there's an opportunity to begin preserving and discovering them faster than they can be destroyed. It's a fascinating question whether a new individual with our biology would share the same consciousness - though worth noting so far as we can tell, identical twins don't share a consciousness :)
