Agree with all you guys. There have been some years long chunks that I haven’t played, but I always end up coming back. 2112 total, finally gonna end up maxing fairly soon after like 12 years 🤣
Wow, I did not expect them to be adding THIS much good stuff. Was fully expecting just small changes here and there tbh. I can not describe how HAPPY I am that BH is coming back. Now I can finally start playing my near maxed gmauler and obby maulers again.
Nah I agree with Windless. Wood cutting was so much fun because people were always around. I remember no matter where you went whether it be willows at Draynor or vines when they were a thing before os being nuked or teaks now, there was always people to talk to and have fun with. If you wanted to be afk this was also a perfect skill so the balance was there. Plus the cape is unique and dope so that only adds to it.

A Prayer Book swap has been something I said should be added years ago. One that is built around Skilling and non combat utility could really add to the experience. Prayers that restore run energy, Ones that grant you invisible levels in skills or just increase the odds of success (mining the rock, chopping the tree), One that reduce failure chance for agility obstacles. There are lots of interesting things that could be done which don't break the game but do make skilling faster in exchange for prayer points (and the completion of desert treasure 2 a grandmaster quest).
There needs to be some pvp and pvm aspects to the new prayerbook. As funny as it sounds I would like the Wrath Curse to make a return. Or basically just some enhanced version of retribution. I don't ever see anyone use the Retribution Prayer in pvp, but if they created an enhanced version of it, it might actually be useable.
wow this is actually wild they adding this much stuff.. i feel like a lot of people are gonna come back to this game now next year. big things coming for osrs in 2023 keeping it alive.
They'll grind the content in the most efficent way only for 16 hours a day, then complain that they're burning out. Normal players though who enjoythe game, i'm super excited for all this new content. I hope we can get a new skill finally too, its time for one.

I feel like being able to do quest without getting the combat xp kind of breaks the unique creativity that comes with such a built. but to have to quest you can to for your built being blocked would be better imo.
I think the approach they’re going - which is barring the rewards behind reasonable level rewards really opens up unique accounts to trying new challenges.

You know, I wish half of all companys had the passion as the OSRS community and its developers. So many mmos and so many just business's would be so good. I know Jagex has very reasonable and very valid critiques but, its very evident the developers do care.
I love that Jagex is supporting players playing the game how they want to play. I also am totally down for a new skill, as long as its well balanced and keeps to the oldschool spirit.
Oh boy, i can't wait to never get max cape ever because i barely have time as-is, and they'll add new skills faster then i can max them!!! If they ever add a new skill, I'm out. They need to fix skills that currently exist and have NO ways to train them like crafting (blow glass, cut gems, dragonhide, THATS IT) and fletching (sucks asshole and is pure bankstanding). Warding was a great idea. Should have been a crafting revamp. Not a new skill. Jagex is trying to kill every bit of nostalgia for their game, thats cool, but players wanting the same? Thats sad and shocking. I thought we were all on the same page. Might as well play RS3.

I've always thought it would be cool to add a pyromancy ability that combines firemaking and magic. This would give a use for firemaking while adding some new combat abilities.
I'm new to this game but really excited for these new things also.... Wow just awesome. Sows they still want to keep the game alive with fresh content.
Love the woodcutting changes! I wish they could do something more collaborative with mining too, it feel like in this mmo, I’m constantly trying to AVOID other players to gather certain resources
What I'm looking forward to the most is seeing how the account locking will work. I love playing on my skiller but don't plan on keeping it as a skiller forever. If I'm able to do more quests without raising my combat level that would be amazing and being able to unlock combat at a later date and receive retroactive xp for those quests I did would be super cool in my opinion.
This is it, it's time for a new skill. It honestly was a long time coming but I think it was very much necessary that it took this long. By the players being extremely cautious it put jagex in a position to have to implement a new skill in this new way, and now is an excellent time to develop it with a direction that has a process and involves checkpoints so that everyone feels involved and comfortable with it. I have alot of excitement just at the sheer possibilities of how cool and creative this could make the game, as well as directly participating in building a new skill with the OSRS community
Idk I'm understanding the official account builds right. You could make it so you gain no experience even if you do the activity? Isn't part of the fun trying to avoid gaining exp by doing stuff, but in this mode you could do whatever you want without the downside of gaining the exp you didn't want?
Yes. The way it was portrayed is any xp you’d gain you wouldn’t get, unless you decide to become normal account. Then it’d all stack up , basically ruining your account build. It gives skillers ALOT of more content & unlocks
Means any builds can do all content that want, like say a 1 def pure doing dragon slayer, which is nice, no content should be locked because your character simply can't get there, not because they are incapable of doing it.
Part of me feels like it'd throw pures out of wack by allowing access to more areas and quest completions and untradeable upgrades and training methods, though at least many quests would still be restricted by level. Just kinda weird that these alt accounts made to have restrictions, where part of the fun is figuring out how to complete goals with some set of restrictions, is instead being allowed less restrictions rather than something like the "don't attack if it skulls" toggle-where it stops your character from doing anything that gains exp or levels you don't want. I don't have a pure but I've had fun watching pure accounts on CZcams before. With PvP pures I'm sure they won't be affected much since quests providing major upgrades still have level requirements
@@monke12354I find it very fun to play in a different way, I still want to clear all content, I also don't full understand how the meta would change because of it, but restrictions don't have to be tedious, if you want a tedious achievment do your 99 slayer no combat character, I however just want to beat inferno with my 1 def pure and I am still a long way off If I can actually ever do it. As long as jagex handle it right and give these ppl a prestige mode like ironmen, than everyone should be capable of being happy.
Honestly increased account security update is huge, runescape has to be the only platform in existence that only lets you use letters and numbers for a password, AND isnt case sensitive! (Ya for those who don't know your wasting your time typing upper and lower case letters when you type your password, it dosn't matter lol)

I wonder what they have in mind for a skill. Artisan looked the most promising, it was basically slayer but with skilling, and that didn’t pass. I think the game is ready for it, I just hope the player base is too
Be interesting how they go about polling new skills. Obviously the first one will be wether its a skill/support/combat type. If its skilling itll be either collect/artisan. If its support theres a huge variety, things like dungeoneering/summoning/slayer/agility are massive support skills. But if its combat based, whats left? Luck skill? Increasing odds?
if they removed the best titans and made some changes so your pet could fight with you anywhere but took damage when you did and you had to heal it with spirit food....yea that could work

Same here. I recently unlocked redwoods at the farming guild and was amazed by how much better it is when people don't have to compete for the tree. Hopefully this update applies that same feeling to low level woodcutting.

im so happy about the woodcutting update. i REALLY hope this comes to fishing aswell. And mining! the group play to fix mining competition for nodes and for fishing maybe some type of update that makes it more useful since you cant do much w fishing in terms of usage or GP making. its really just level requirements etc.
So hyped for Bounty Hunter to come back! Just built a pure so that's gonna be fun. Also I wish they would reword smoke and shadow spells to give them more or niche uses, at the moment they're entirely useless and take up half the spellbook.
@@uhtred7860 A pure is a one defense build that is entirely focused on offensive stats. Typically no higher than 52 prayer and 1 defence, while having high strength and usually 60 or 75 attack. The goal is to be able to maximize the damage while remaining a lower combat level than you would otherwise be with such power.
@@uhtred7860 yes you do get hit hard, unless you were doing NH ("No Honor") fights which means you and your opponent use protection prayers (-40% damage if struck with according combat style being prayed against) But mainly people will use pures for fast-paced and generally cheap combat on pvp worlds at the Grand Exchange. So being hit hard and constantly is just a part of those fights
@@uhtred7860 check out Odablock or The Donator or Greg2007 on twitch and youtube, they are some of the best pkers and The Donator is often using a maxed pure for NH fights in the rev caves on twitch
They should also add new fish/food to the game for fishing, kinda like forestry and shooting stars, a fishing spot goes around the map randomly and those who find it will be able to fish there for rewards/new fish. The dense fish spot will start at 90 fishing and getting weaker until level 10 fishing. This will provide fishing exp + new food/items/activities to the game.
After reading some of the comments below I think I will have to agree with one option. The only new skill that comes to mind is something called engineering. Osrs is about efficiency, skill can become a combination of archeology and invention in rs3. Skill would be about improving all skill equipment. Faster harvesting for farming, agility boots to help prevent fails on courses, handles that use logs and bars for pickaxes and hatchets that help XP gains. Idk it would be complicated but I think a potential idea is there.
I hate the xp blocker. Completely takes away the novelty behind I trimmed capes or pures If they want to add a blocker, it should affect all stats at once abd shouldn't allow quest completions
Hope we get the artisan skill to be the skilling version of slayer. Doesnt affect combat, gives crafting skills more purpose and importance. I found myself personally dreading maxing my crafting skills after 99 slayer and combat and a new skill that ties into them would really motivate me.
I'm happy to have a skill that makes the game better like invention in rs3 somthing that helps the economy of the game. Or and skill that uses a absurd amount of runes to counter Gotr because rune prices in osrs right now are so low.... and them being so low hurts other things like slayer.
looks like they took the OG Evil Tree event (the one that could break your axe) and revamped it. kinda surprised they didn't at an alternative form to the RS3 Evil Tree event, but looking forward to what they'll make of it. also curious on the backlash as it's a similar update to the Mining & Smithing update where resources don't deplete anymore in order to remove the competitive aspect over resources. The restriction system is cool. Scared for the return of Bounty Hunter, but it seems like they finally learned to not add tradeable items as a reward for a minigame. DT2 is cool, curious if they'll make the old prayers obsolete or not. Questboss that becomes a normal boss is a cool concept. (I'm expecting something similar to Agoroth from RS3 except with actual drops as rewards)
I’m excited for the woodcutting changes. I like that they are adding new mechanics so that there’s incentive to play with a group when skilling. After we see how it goes, I wonder if they would try something similar with mining. If it works I’d love to see that as well. One thing that’s been in my mind since the release of Old School is a smithing rework. I’d like it to have some more use towards the mid to late game. Thoughts?
My thoughts: Woodcutting Update: Okay this generally is a good idea. Woodcutting is one of those truly "Click once every X time." Trying to make it more flexible and social allows for new methods that aren't tick-manipulation/afk based. Similar to how Mahogany Homes allowed for budget Construction Training with room for optimization that wasn't just Camp next to spot w/ Butler. Official Account Builds: So I'm glad Jagex is recognizing that many follow specific builds for their accounts. From various PKing accounts to challenge accounts, etc. Also the opt-in system is huge and doesn't force remakes. Bounty Hunter Returning: Bringing back the classic craters is a nice idea. I'm hoping this version does well. I can imagine this one has the most debate going on. Desert Treasure 2: The Prayer Book we're gonna need more details on. If it is what they conceptualized as an alternative choice instead of a direct upgrade then it's fine but considering how big Curses were in the Runescape 2 days until more information is revealed many would be on the fence about it myself included. I love the quest idea of new, re-fightable bosses from both it and the mysterious quest boss. New Skill: Okay next to Bounty Hunter's return, this is the one with the most debate. OSRS has had a history of new skills failing at polls for a number of reasons. Jagex's approach is truly the best but given how their roadmap for it is there might not be a new skill until late 2023 or 2024 depending on feedback.
exciting new stuff. Only thing I'm curious about (in more of a negative way) is the woodcutting update. Most people AFK woodcutting be it at the guild or draynor. I'm doubting others will go out of their way to do a quick event if it is the type of event that pops up randomly like say the Random Events. So I guess we'll see how it is implemented. Maybe upon release, it gets an influx of players, but then quickly dies off and becomes dead content like many other minigames especially if it doesn't have any meaningful rewards to keep players enticed. If this is an alternative way to get say: the Lumberjack Outfit but also gives better rewards in addition, this would kill off Temple Trekking for sure. People only do that minigame for the outfit and most players just skip it altogether.
The restricted account thing is a terrible idea. I'm thinking about all the people who spent thousands of hours cleaning finds to get 99 attack 10 hp being overrun by afk trainers at sand crabs
This is such a bad take. “I suffered so other people should too” is such a bad mentality. This update will allow a lot more people to try the different account builds.

Restricted accounts may _not_ be a good idea at the end of the day. I was intrigued by the pitch during the stream, but now that I'm thinking about it. I'm becoming more and more unsure.

My wish for the new prayer book would be a mix of skilling/utility prayers, and combat prayers that do not feature protection overheads, but embrace the simple life of powerful boosts and defense and recovery options.. Although I'd like a pure utility book too, if there was zero interest in protection-prayer-less combat
@@Thor-cx4pk Soul split in the context of OSRS is really bad is the thing. Soul split is only very strong because of rampant power creeps and everything being Multicombat. *technically* osrs already has soul split, which is Blood barraging, Blood barraging sucks in RS3 because the heal effect only applies to the primary target. OSRS has so many better soul split versions in its current state. Guthanxs, blood fury amulet, Blood barrage. OSRS soul split wouldn't be very powerful, especially since OSRS has an even harder emphasis on proper prayer switching.
What I would like to know is if already restricted accounts can apply for the restricted account? For example those 10HP pures, if they have 10HP they can apply to become an official 10HP pure.
I used to play back in 07 when the bh caves were about! It was sick! I remember clans would dot in the middle of the map and when a target teleported to them it would allow 2 people to attack! Good old days of world 18 at magebank and east drags when things were really poppin.
but the woodcutting changes are essentially just 1. new kinds of random events added to it 2. other people cutting he same tree as yours isn't a problem anymore those seem like very neat changes without changing the basic skill itself all that much
Looking forward to the woodcutting expansion. It is about time for OSRS to have training methods that are more than just afk and repeat the same action for hours and hours.
I feel like the osrs team spends 99% of their time on end game content, like raids.. big bosses.. grandmaster quests.. they need to spend way more time on mid game and some early game content for new players to get excited about.. osrs will die if this continues
Dt2 sounds awesome, but most excited for mobile enhancements! As someone who mainly plays mobile, the more options similar to Runelite (like agility overlay & mining/tree timers) the better. Great overview!
New prayer book concept centered around sacrificing HP, your life to the god(s) so that they grant you with more of their power. Possible effects could include: Stat boosting prayers have their boost affect increase as your HP decreases. The boost could start small, maybe only 5% at full hp but increase to more than the standard prayer boosts when bellow half hp. Prayer that increases your HP Regen rate as your HP decreases. (While the gods want you to sacrifice yourself to them, they know you can only do that if you're still alive). A prayer that allows a percentage of damage taken from outside sources to restore run energy. A prayer that slowly sacrifices your HP overtime in exchange for reduced prayer drain rate. (This would act like increasing your prayer bonus)
I hope DT2 doesn't reward soul split/Turmoil...Soul Split was amazing in RS3, but it made everything soooo easy since you could full heal in a claw spec or two.

I spent a whole summer as a kid cutting yews in catherbay for 12 hrs a day to get 99 no regrets

I returned the game after a year and a half break and Holy crap, this video made me look forward for a lot of things, pretty happy.

If they ever add a new skill, I'm out. They need to fix skills that currently exist and have NO ways to train them like crafting (blow glass, cut gems, dragonhide, THATS IT) and fletching (sucks asshole and is pure bankstanding).
Warding was a great idea. Should have been a crafting revamp. Not a new skill. Jagex is trying to kill every bit of nostalgia for their game, thats cool, but players wanting the same? Thats sad and shocking. I thought we were all on the same page. Might as well play RS3.

I've always thought it would be cool to add a pyromancy ability that combines firemaking and magic. This would give a use for firemaking while adding some new combat abilities.

Love the woodcutting changes! I wish they could do something more collaborative with mining too, it feel like in this mmo, I’m constantly trying to AVOID other players to gather certain resources

I have spent last few weeks in motherload mine and it would be 10 times more fun if i could mine with someone else than the dwarf
What I'm looking forward to the most is seeing how the account locking will work. I love playing on my skiller but don't plan on keeping it as a skiller forever. If I'm able to do more quests without raising my combat level that would be amazing and being able to unlock combat at a later date and receive retroactive xp for those quests I did would be super cool in my opinion.
Excited for new skill! Hoping for dungeoneering or summoning. I left rs3 because of Treasure Hunter and EOC. Not the skills :)

This is it, it's time for a new skill. It honestly was a long time coming but I think it was very much necessary that it took this long. By the players being extremely cautious it put jagex in a position to have to implement a new skill in this new way, and now is an excellent time to develop it with a direction that has a process and involves checkpoints so that everyone feels involved and comfortable with it. I have alot of excitement just at the sheer possibilities of how cool and creative this could make the game, as well as directly participating in building a new skill with the OSRS community
I'm also really excited for the new skill, but I doubt we will see it soon. I would say it's gonna be there mid 2024, maybe even later.

Idk I'm understanding the official account builds right. You could make it so you gain no experience even if you do the activity? Isn't part of the fun trying to avoid gaining exp by doing stuff, but in this mode you could do whatever you want without the downside of gaining the exp you didn't want?
Yes. The way it was portrayed is any xp you’d gain you wouldn’t get, unless you decide to become normal account. Then it’d all stack up , basically ruining your account build. It gives skillers ALOT of more content & unlocks
Means any builds can do all content that want, like say a 1 def pure doing dragon slayer, which is nice, no content should be locked because your character simply can't get there, not because they are incapable of doing it.
Part of me feels like it'd throw pures out of wack by allowing access to more areas and quest completions and untradeable upgrades and training methods, though at least many quests would still be restricted by level.
Just kinda weird that these alt accounts made to have restrictions, where part of the fun is figuring out how to complete goals with some set of restrictions, is instead being allowed less restrictions rather than something like the "don't attack if it skulls" toggle-where it stops your character from doing anything that gains exp or levels you don't want.
I don't have a pure but I've had fun watching pure accounts on CZcams before. With PvP pures I'm sure they won't be affected much since quests providing major upgrades still have level requirements
@@monke12354I find it very fun to play in a different way, I still want to clear all content, I also don't full understand how the meta would change because of it, but restrictions don't have to be tedious, if you want a tedious achievment do your 99 slayer no combat character, I however just want to beat inferno with my 1 def pure and I am still a long way off If I can actually ever do it.
As long as jagex handle it right and give these ppl a prestige mode like ironmen, than everyone should be capable of being happy.

Honestly increased account security update is huge, runescape has to be the only platform in existence that only lets you use letters and numbers for a password, AND isnt case sensitive! (Ya for those who don't know your wasting your time typing upper and lower case letters when you type your password, it dosn't matter lol)

I literally just found out there was a woodcutting guild. Now this huge roadmap for Osrs I’m speechless!!!! Like honestly I’m excited for the woodcutting addition.
I wonder what they have in mind for a skill. Artisan looked the most promising, it was basically slayer but with skilling, and that didn’t pass. I think the game is ready for it, I just hope the player base is too

Obviously the first one will be wether its a skill/support/combat type.
If its skilling itll be either collect/artisan.
If its support theres a huge variety, things like dungeoneering/summoning/slayer/agility are massive support skills. But if its combat based, whats left? Luck skill? Increasing odds?

Honestly, Summoning Skill was a perfect addition to RS, add it to OSRS but make it fit the game's classic feel, obviously. That's just my take
if they removed the best titans and made some changes so your pet could fight with you anywhere but took damage when you did and you had to heal it with spirit food....yea that could work

funny how private servers had the ability to reset your skills to 1 for like 10 years or more now but jag never added a defence reset

Same here. I recently unlocked redwoods at the farming guild and was amazed by how much better it is when people don't have to compete for the tree. Hopefully this update applies that same feeling to low level woodcutting.

im so happy about the woodcutting update. i REALLY hope this comes to fishing aswell. And mining! the group play to fix mining competition for nodes and for fishing maybe some type of update that makes it more useful since you cant do much w fishing in terms of usage or GP making. its really just level requirements etc.

@@uhtred7860 A pure is a one defense build that is entirely focused on offensive stats. Typically no higher than 52 prayer and 1 defence, while having high strength and usually 60 or 75 attack. The goal is to be able to maximize the damage while remaining a lower combat level than you would otherwise be with such power.

@@uhtred7860 yes you do get hit hard, unless you were doing NH ("No Honor") fights which means you and your opponent use protection prayers (-40% damage if struck with according combat style being prayed against)
But mainly people will use pures for fast-paced and generally cheap combat on pvp worlds at the Grand Exchange. So being hit hard and constantly is just a part of those fights

I would like to see Veteran Capes make a return in Old school!
They should also add new fish/food to the game for fishing, kinda like forestry and shooting stars, a fishing spot goes around the map randomly and those who find it will be able to fish there for rewards/new fish. The dense fish spot will start at 90 fishing and getting weaker until level 10 fishing. This will provide fishing exp + new food/items/activities to the game.
I agree, they keep adding new weapons and armour that have higher DPS so they should add higher level food too.
I'm an RS3 player but this makes me excited to try OSRS again... Time to get questing to try Desert Treasure II!

After reading some of the comments below I think I will have to agree with one option. The only new skill that comes to mind is something called engineering. Osrs is about efficiency, skill can become a combination of archeology and invention in rs3. Skill would be about improving all skill equipment. Faster harvesting for farming, agility boots to help prevent fails on courses, handles that use logs and bars for pickaxes and hatchets that help XP gains. Idk it would be complicated but I think a potential idea is there.

If they want to add a blocker, it should affect all stats at once abd shouldn't allow quest completions
Hope we get the artisan skill to be the skilling version of slayer. Doesnt affect combat, gives crafting skills more purpose and importance. I found myself personally dreading maxing my crafting skills after 99 slayer and combat and a new skill that ties into them would really motivate me.
I'm happy to have a skill that makes the game better like invention in rs3 somthing that helps the economy of the game. Or and skill that uses a absurd amount of runes to counter Gotr because rune prices in osrs right now are so low.... and them being so low hurts other things like slayer.
looks like they took the OG Evil Tree event (the one that could break your axe) and revamped it.
kinda surprised they didn't at an alternative form to the RS3 Evil Tree event, but looking forward to what they'll make of it.
also curious on the backlash as it's a similar update to the Mining & Smithing update where resources don't deplete anymore in order to remove the competitive aspect over resources.

Scared for the return of Bounty Hunter, but it seems like they finally learned to not add tradeable items as a reward for a minigame.

I’m excited for the woodcutting changes. I like that they are adding new mechanics so that there’s incentive to play with a group when skilling. After we see how it goes, I wonder if they would try something similar with mining. If it works I’d love to see that as well. One thing that’s been in my mind since the release of Old School is a smithing rework. I’d like it to have some more use towards the mid to late game. Thoughts?
The game is gonna be a sweet mixture of Runescape 3 and the OG OSRS.
My thoughts:
Woodcutting Update: Okay this generally is a good idea. Woodcutting is one of those truly "Click once every X time." Trying to make it more flexible and social allows for new methods that aren't tick-manipulation/afk based. Similar to how Mahogany Homes allowed for budget Construction Training with room for optimization that wasn't just Camp next to spot w/ Butler.
Official Account Builds: So I'm glad Jagex is recognizing that many follow specific builds for their accounts. From various PKing accounts to challenge accounts, etc. Also the opt-in system is huge and doesn't force remakes.
Bounty Hunter Returning: Bringing back the classic craters is a nice idea. I'm hoping this version does well. I can imagine this one has the most debate going on.
Desert Treasure 2: The Prayer Book we're gonna need more details on. If it is what they conceptualized as an alternative choice instead of a direct upgrade then it's fine but considering how big Curses were in the Runescape 2 days until more information is revealed many would be on the fence about it myself included. I love the quest idea of new, re-fightable bosses from both it and the mysterious quest boss.
New Skill: Okay next to Bounty Hunter's return, this is the one with the most debate. OSRS has had a history of new skills failing at polls for a number of reasons. Jagex's approach is truly the best but given how their roadmap for it is there might not be a new skill until late 2023 or 2024 depending on feedback.
The real question is how will this affect Lebron’s legacy?
exciting new stuff. Only thing I'm curious about (in more of a negative way) is the woodcutting update. Most people AFK woodcutting be it at the guild or draynor. I'm doubting others will go out of their way to do a quick event if it is the type of event that pops up randomly like say the Random Events. So I guess we'll see how it is implemented. Maybe upon release, it gets an influx of players, but then quickly dies off and becomes dead content like many other minigames especially if it doesn't have any meaningful rewards to keep players enticed.
If this is an alternative way to get say: the Lumberjack Outfit but also gives better rewards in addition, this would kill off Temple Trekking for sure. People only do that minigame for the outfit and most players just skip it altogether.
If way of the forester is good maybe we can get a smithing rework next!

The restricted account thing is a terrible idea. I'm thinking about all the people who spent thousands of hours cleaning finds to get 99 attack 10 hp being overrun by afk trainers at sand crabs
This is such a bad take. “I suffered so other people should too” is such a bad mentality. This update will allow a lot more people to try the different account builds.

Restricted accounts may _not_ be a good idea at the end of the day. I was intrigued by the pitch during the stream, but now that I'm thinking about it. I'm becoming more and more unsure.

My wish for the new prayer book would be a mix of skilling/utility prayers, and combat prayers that do not feature protection overheads, but embrace the simple life of powerful boosts and defense and recovery options.. Although I'd like a pure utility book too, if there was zero interest in protection-prayer-less combat

Soul split is only very strong because of rampant power creeps and everything being Multicombat.
*technically* osrs already has soul split, which is Blood barraging, Blood barraging sucks in RS3 because the heal effect only applies to the primary target.
OSRS has so many better soul split versions in its current state. Guthanxs, blood fury amulet, Blood barrage. OSRS soul split wouldn't be very powerful, especially since OSRS has an even harder emphasis on proper prayer switching.
Hate the idea of restriction accounts min-maxing quest-locked items. I don't need 10hp pures with barrows gloves ruining what little is left of pvp.
100% time for a new skill. A new skill means more players, more players means a larger economy, a larger economy means larger margins to flip items.

I used to play back in 07 when the bh caves were about! It was sick! I remember clans would dot in the middle of the map and when a target teleported to them it would allow 2 people to attack! Good old days of world 18 at magebank and east drags when things were really poppin.

I feel like the osrs team spends 99% of their time on end game content, like raids.. big bosses.. grandmaster quests.. they need to spend way more time on mid game and some early game content for new players to get excited about.. osrs will die if this continues
Dt2 sounds awesome, but most excited for mobile enhancements! As someone who mainly plays mobile, the more options similar to Runelite (like agility overlay & mining/tree timers) the better. Great overview!

New prayer book concept centered around sacrificing HP, your life to the god(s) so that they grant you with more of their power.
Possible effects could include:
Stat boosting prayers have their boost affect increase as your HP decreases. The boost could start small, maybe only 5% at full hp but increase to more than the standard prayer boosts when bellow half hp.
Prayer that increases your HP Regen rate as your HP decreases. (While the gods want you to sacrifice yourself to them, they know you can only do that if you're still alive).
A prayer that allows a percentage of damage taken from outside sources to restore run energy.
A prayer that slowly sacrifices your HP overtime in exchange for reduced prayer drain rate. (This would act like increasing your prayer bonus)

I hope DT2 doesn't reward soul split/Turmoil...Soul Split was amazing in RS3, but it made everything soooo easy since you could full heal in a claw spec or two.
