You raise a very interesting point about wiring trees in the pot. If you do suffer from strong winds or are at risk of the tree coming out, then go for it. But keep an eye on root bite
That's an awesome looking tree Jay and cedars can be funny trees to bonsai. I'm trying to start a few from seed, so have a long time to wait until they reach your stage.
Weaker growth: Concerning Japanese maples, the idea is to defoliate (when the tree is at that stage of its life of course), the one of 2 leafs so the interior weaker buds and shoots become strong. Nice cedar bro.
Noice. I have 2 royal purple smokes that have been going for 3 years. Love em. Last summer I found a dwarf variety. Can't remember the name, but leaves are less than an inch
@@bonsaisforever watch for scale bugs. They love mine. If a bud doesn't open, check the base of the bud for scale. Other than that, handles everything I throw at it. I have one root over rock with roots extending 8 inches above the pot, and one broom style. Plus the new dwarf
@@bonsaisforever no problem I love CZcams and seeing other people’s trees so it’s a win win for me. It’s hard to find an audience on CZcams believe me I know. I just started documenting my bonsai journey on another channel I will subscribe with that one too ☺️

You are correct. If you don't need to then why do it.

Beautiful cedar
Thank you. Thanks for watching.

They seem to grow really fast in a big pot
I love Eastern Reds, but I haven’t quite figured them out. Nice work.
Hi Steve thanks for watching. I'll be honest I haven't figured them out yet either. I'm learning as I go .
