How do you move multiple scenes back together? Moving the scene border takes space from the following scene and cuts off the end. I want to increase the length of one scene and push all the others back.

Nice Video! I use Screenflow too and I am jus getting into Descript. What is your workflow with Screenflow and Descript or do you use them separately for separate videos?
Usually when I use screenflow, I do the whole video in screenflow.

Great video, thank you. I'm having issues with loosing quality if I upload a video into Descript to then do my editing have you ran into this issue? Any way to fix that??

Thanks for the video, Meredith! I am wondering, how can I save a specific setting, such as a cropped image or a color correction, and apply it to a different scene? Can this be done through templates?
I believe it can be done with templates! Sometimes I find the templates function to be finicky but give it a try.
@@meredithmarsh thank you, what also is supposed to work is to right click a clip and press copy and then select another clip and select "Paste special" --> "paste selected attributes". However, when I try that then nothing happens so I will check with Descript support.
Hey Meredith. Thanks for the video. I make videos for art classes. How would i insert my palette camera into the canvas if Ive got to sync the audio before I do that? I don't need the palette cam audio so I will eventually mute it but it's useful to sync up with the canvas camera at first. thanks!
You can do multi-cam edits in screenflow which does just what you described! I need to make a video about this ☺️

Hey Meredith, when I add a B roll or picture, it doesn't fit the full size of the screen, and some of the video I am overlaying the B roll is showing, So then I resized the B roll, but then it resized both the main video and the B roll through out the entire video. What am I doing wrong? I have searched through all the descript tutorial videos and can't figure it out. Can you help?
Thanks for making the video! Do you know if it's possible to pixelate in Descript? I want to pixelate a section of the video but I can't for the life of me figure it out.

I see you're using a Cam Link 4k, but in the Descript user guide, it says that it's not a supported device. You've had good success with it so far? No issues?
I had not had any issues with it, but lately, I get weird shadows in my video when I record with it. Doesn’t happen with other software. I don’t know if it’s the camlink or what!

Hi, great video. Thank you. I am new to this. I'm curious, if you delete part of a sentence, won't that affect the actual video of you talking? What I mean is if I said on the video "the tree stood tall" then decided to add "Christmas" in wouldn't that affect the visual of me talking? Probably silly questions but just learning. Great job Meredith! I come from an Avid Media Composer paradigm and extensively use L and J cuts. Have you found a fast method to do this with Descript. In Avid, it takes literally micro seconds with keyboard commands. Also, re: building your own AI voice … can you continue to add new content and thus improve the quality? Or, do you have to replace current voice upload with a new one? Also, is Descript’s “gap removable” better than dedicated tools like Recut?
Hi Mark! Thanks! I haven’t yet found an easy way for L and J cuts in descript. I hope it’s something they integrate soon!! I’m not totally sure about the overdub training. I’ve only played with it a little bit and the results weren’t super great (not horrible either). I haven’t tried recut so I can’t compare there!!
@@meredithmarsh Thank you! I’ve tried the AI Overdub. First with 30 minutes. The results were not good. But then I did it again for 2 hours of audio and I was impressed. I used it several times to replace words that I misspoke.

🙏 thank you. Did you record two hours or upload 2 hours worth of videos you previously recorded?
@@meredithmarsh uploaded a total of 2 hours of videos. Most were under 10 minutes but they were all recorded around the same time and same project with a Shure SM7B via SSL Audio Interface to Screenflow. Then processed via Izotope - compressed/leveled - just basic stuff.
@@meredithmarsh Hi Meredith. Not sure if you got my previous response. I uploaded / hours of previously recorded videos. I’m in the process of uploading an even larger sample under a different voice profile. This AI Voice is working very well for me. It’s now nearly seamless. In the last few days I was able to replace 2 egregious mispronunciations, fixed a few where I replaced slang things like “I wanna” with “I want to”. And it one case, replaced a whole sentence. When I did that it worked very well and I found that it time compresses to fit the old audios gap. Very cool. I’m close to moving to Descript for most of everything I do.

O problema é que quando eu coloco um vídeo pra legendar, na hora de exportar ele fica com a qualidade inferior ao vídeo original. isso prejudica. Alguém sabe me dizer o que fazer para preservar a máxima qualidade?

don't know if you saw, there's a new feature where AI can recognize multiple takes of a particular bit and remove it for you. It's a real time saver.
How does it know which take is the best one though? 🧐

@@meredithmarsh haha. It's all good. I'm just finding it very 'non-intuitive' especially the timeline. Maybe on a super large monitor it might be better. I also find sizing thing to fit in the video window a struggle..and layers are ....Anyway, I've got a month to figure out whether to continue with it. I'll keep watching here and see if I can up my game.
I'm sorry, why would I want to pay a monthly fee for yet another product, when I can use either a free video editing tool or just pay a one time fee. CZcams pays little enough these days to content creators, without finding new ways to spend it.
If it’s not for you, it’s not for you. No big deal. It’s a great tool for those of us who like it 👍
