Curious if you have spent any time the Okeechobee waterway between Ft. Myers and Lake Okeechobee. The complete trip across the state is 154 miles from Ft. Myers to Stuart but only about 75 miles to the lake. Going down this coming week and pln a little exploring, however I think planning a 4 or 5 day camping trip is worth checking in to. Provided there are camping facilities available and if I can find a couple of others that are dumb ( I mean adventurous) enough to try it. We'll just try and skip the Banjo music.

That sounds like an awesome adventure! I’m not familiar with that area (yet!), but please let me know how it goes!

What kind of snake did you step on? My worse nightmare, but I do live south of Gandy and we are known for Rattlesnakes 😳

Thank GOODNESS it was a tiny SOMETHING! Not a rattle snake 😅 But yes! I read about that at the Tampa Bay History Center! 🐍
