      Finally concluding with Xenoblade Y the 20th game in the series starring the new Heropon on a quest to undo the universe split. Homs and Ganglion eventually mated with each other and team up with the blades who now run BLADE. The Nopon have become part Telethia, but only our main character Ritsura cannot become a Telethia, until he finds a random red sword that can talk and sees the future. The battle system only has one art per character, but because the red sword can talk, only you can use 18.

    Core Crystals were based on technology that was used to mimic human brain cells. It is implied that the same technology was also used to create the biological computer that runs the Zohar, the Trinity Processor. Therefore, the Aegises are already made from the same stuff as core crystals

    • @BabafiBafi
      @BabafiBafi Před 5 lety +33

      I'd argue it's the other way around. The core crystal tech is based off of the Trinity Processor. The conclusion is the same either way. Both are the same "stuff."

    • @Implosion-Gaming
      @Implosion-Gaming Před rokem +3

      It was also confirmed that logos, pneuma, ontos, all grew up in a simulation type of existence before becoming activated. This was confirmed in the figurine. This means before blades were actualized into their own beings, the trinity processor was already becoming its own being or form of life. This is expressed as this sentience wanting to expand and adapt with humanity as a shared desire to improve upon lifes problems. At least thats how I see it.

    I think Amalthus sensed the Aegis' were core crystal like. When Rex holds a core crystal for the first time, they imply a certain sensation happens, that if one tries to focus on, begins the "awakening" process of a blade, which may or may not fail. Despite their foreign appearance to him, I think Amalthus could feel that sensation, which he must have been familiar with since he had Minoth already at that point, so had awakened blades before. Amalthus thus didn't try to awaken till he got back. He tried Malos first and the rest is history.

  • @LeSomeGuy

    Need to go deeper when analyzing a Xeno game. Ontos, Logos, and Pneuma in term of trinity of mind, body, and soul.
    Alvis is pure logical, whoever wields him gets to use his power to create or restore reality; Malos is pure strength, dominating absolute power; Mythra debates the morality of power over life and death.
    In terms of one becomes three, there is also the classic id, ego, and super ego; or in simple term, instinct, reality, and morality. The three of them may have the exact same power, just chose to exhibit different them differently based on one third of personality.
    Malos exhibit the baser instinct, id, he does what he want, just pure take and destroy. He might also have reality warpping power, but he doesn't rely on higher function of the Trinity. Alvis is the rule and consequences part of personality, the ego, follows the rule set by Klaus, the creator of the world, he doesn't use any power his owner doesn't want to use. Mythra is the moral part of personality, the super ego, concerns with consequences of an action above what rule enables. She would best limits her power as to not conduct immoral action and exceed her capability as she needs, independent of orders from her driver.
    It's really difficult to discuss anything in a Xeno title without bringing up theology, psychology, and philosophy. There are so many layers to interpret the capabilities of the Aegis and by extend the Trinity Processor as well as the Zohar that it was based on.

      @MarlinTheClownfish What's the evidence against it? I thought Ontos was a perfect match with Alvis' description of himself in the original xenoblade

    • @LeSomeGuy
      @LeSomeGuy Před 5 lety +9

      @MarlinTheClownfish From we have seen on Ch 10, the three Aegis are equal in triangular form. Since the game specifically calls them "core", it implies each Aegis is a CPU core of sort on the Trinity Processor.
      Each core on a computer could have different functionalities, but in general computing all core are the same, just a fraction of overall scheme.
      Combine with the director's love of philosophy, that let me to think all three core can access the same power, probably just conduits for Zohar. So, they just exhibits different powers due to each being one third of an overall sentient computer, one third of personalities. Classically separated into id, ego, and super ego.

      Honestly, the big thing for me is Klaus's wording when he described how he re-created the world. He said that Ontos, Logos, and Pneuma were the cornerstones of the creation of the Blades. Such wording implies that Ontos was still around when he came up with that.
      And if that's the case, Alvis wouldn't be Ontos, as he would have vanished much sooner.

    • @alexanderm5728
      @alexanderm5728 Před 5 lety +8

      @@MrSentinel07 No, Klaus says that Logos and Pneuma were, but Ontos triggered a spacetime transition event and disappeared before Klaus got the chance to do that. From the way he worded it, it's entirely possible that this event was simultaneous with the experiment, meaning Alvis would be there to resonate with Zanza and Meyneth and thus give them their powers.

    It’s my personal theory that ontos and logos were the “equal opposites” that were supposed to counteract each other, while pneuma is more representative of human emotion. With ontos out of the picture and logos destroying the world, pneuma was forced to be the peacekeeper. This would explain why pneuma’s power is very different from logos’s. Also, because pneuma represented human emotion and human will, she was the only one capable of resetting the world once she had found the right driver

    Regarding Ophion being under Pyra's control, Mythra thought that Ophion was destroyed by Malos in the war. So when it came time for her to seal away all of her destructive abilities from Pyra, it could be that she just forgot to clear her of Ophion's control codes, since that weapon was supposedly destroyed and thus there'd be no point in doing so. • @evanatorextreme1065
      @evanatorextreme1065 Před 5 lety +5

      Ya know,now that I think about it...
      Pyra’s more Red. The Reality Stone Is Red. Pyra is a “different self” that Mythra constructed. The Reality Stone does what’s in the name. She was more of a disguise of sorts,considering her interactions with Malos before the end of Chapter 3.
      Mythra’s more(Technically Maybe White)Yellow. The Mind Stone is Yellow. Mythra is the “mind” behind the disguise. She may not be really controlling Pyra’s thoughts and actions,but considering the end of Torna,I’d say it was(in context of the Mind Stone)her controlling herself to suppress the knowledge of and how to use her power.
      Malos is more Black(though he’s also associated with Purple say his Blade Shield,his Core Crystal,and the energy Blade of his Sword,not to mention the lights on his Sword as well). The Power Stone is Purple. Malos of course as an Aegis is naturally super powerful. The Power Stone pretty much makes stuff it touches explode which lets it ricochet off said explosions,to cause even more destruction. And what was Malos’ goal? To wipe out “Humanity” or likely rather all sentient life.
      Hmm...and now we have the Space Stone. Screw it,it’s Ontos or what everyone believes to be Alvis(BTW,go watch the Ontos Video). The Space Stone opens you Wormholes that let you travel anywhere. Ontos triggered a Space Time Transition whatever and disappeared. Kind of a copout but ya know what screw it.
      And lastly the Time Stone. Meh,probably is Pneuma. I mean,she sped up Azurda’s Regeneration thing,accelerated Rex to Lightspeed(also kind of a copout but lol whatever),and Py,My,and Pneuma all have Green Core Crystals,which of course are all basically the same being,so therefore the same crystal.
      But now we ask...WHO is the Soul Stone?

    So the aegis tier list seems to be
    Pyra --> Malos (weakened after torna) ---> Mythra --> Malos (with his monado and full power) ---> Mythra (with the third sword at the end of torna) --> Pnuema, (who utelisez the full power of the trinity core and by extension the data of all life.)
    Essentially, Pneuma only came out when the core and the driver were in perfect sync, alone and as a blade, they would not be able to use the full power of the Pnuema core, hence why mythra was unable to turn into Pnuema at the end of torna, she was emotionally in sync with Adam, but she was still acting on her own. This leaves Ontos who is just doing his own thing in xenoblade 1 and Logos. If Malos was able to transform into an ascended state or use the power of the master blade, he could potentially be even more powerful than Pneuma. However Malos can not ascend because he is not in sync with amalthus, his driver.

      (Spoiler: when he awakens the core at the end, Pyra and Mythra are separate beings. I see this as Rex loving both of them in different ways, he doesn't want them to be one person, he wants them to embrace their individuality. He wouldn't change a thing. He resonates with them as they are.)

  • @Dualgas
    @Dualgas Před 5 lety +30

    Here's a theory of mine to explain why Malos' sword is called a Monado:
    You know how Ontos/Alvis warps to the XC1 universe after Klaus begins his 'experiment', leaving the other two cores behind? Now missing Ontos isn't such a big deal for Logos and Pneuma because 1. Klaus is there and can reprogram their BIOS so they function as a dual core processor and also repair any physical damage and 2. they were completely reprogrammed to be master blades so the blade system could function anyway. But this isn't true for Ontos, who is completely alone in XC1's empty universe. Now in most modern CPUs each core is quite separate from one another, having their own cache among other things, but that does not mean a CPU could function if opened its lid and tore out two of its cores, even if you damaged nothing else (and of course Alvis now also lacks a motherboard, but throughout XC2, Pneuma and Logos seem to function alright without any other hardware, but that could just be Klaus' tinkering). There is also a theory out there that Alvis, Pneuma and Logos are not actually "cores" as we think of them, but three components of the one core, and this might be why they behave differently: monadontos.tumblr.com/post/176615317289/hey-guess-who-has-a-headcanon-me-its-me.
    Anyway, we know Alvis brought half of Klaus and possibly all of Galea Meyneth with him, but why? And why only those two when the room had many more scientists?
    Well, I believe Ontos knew he could not function alone, so he took them with him to repurpose them as the missing cores, giving them the Monados so that their human minds could interface with him, a computer core; Meyneth and the Mechonis Monado became Pneuma's replacement and Zanza and the Bionis Monado became Logos' replacement. We get the sense throughout XC1 that Alvis is a morally neutral character who needs human input to do anything, and this would play right into that.
    This would explain why the Bionis Monado has such a mechanical appearance despite belonging to the self-proclaimed god of carbon-based life; it is a part of the computer. There are even parallels between XC1's Monados and the XC2 Aegises. For one, both can be used to see the future and bring people back from the dead by bonding with the deceased; Both Zanza and Malos are the antagonists of their stories. Both the Mechonis Monado and Pneuma are associated with suicidal female characters who sacrifice themselves to save their world. There is even a theory that Pneuma was designed by Klaus to resemble Galea somewhat as penance for not heeding her concern and seemingly killing her (this is if you believe that Pneuma is not 'coffee with milk' but the OG, and Mythra is simply a projection based on Addam's thoughts). And of course both Pneuma's sword and the Mechonis Monado are a teal / turquoise colour.
    tldr; Monado = Aegis = Trinity Processor core and Alvis repurposed Zanza and Meyneth's brains to be the two cores he was missing.

    • @Lashteen
      @Lashteen Před 5 lety +3

      First of all, we don't even know if Alvis is Ontos or not. If you take a look at ANY other Xeno game besides Xenoblade, you'll notice he's most likely to be just the mouthpiece, the "artifical will" as they call it, necessary to utilize Lemegeton (WHICH LOOKS LIKE THE TRINITY PROCESSOR), which activates and communicates with the Conduit.
      So as it has been said many times before, Alvis is the super intelligent computer that almost every step of the phase transition experiment, following the orders and input from Klaus.

    I think it's certainly possible the third sword in Elpys could've been a "backup" of sorts, but I'm not sure if Rex visiting it would be necessary for Pyra to revive herself. Despite splitting her crystal with Rex, neither Pyra nor Mythra seem to be any worse-off except for sharing damage, which, together with the fact the halves need to exchange information, implies the halves of the Pneuma crystal are more or less functioning independently but need to sync with each other. In order to function independently though, they'd need separate copies of the same information.
    Even on the off chance the two halves don't have all the same data uploaded to them, since Pyra would've transferred her entire core to Rex had Jin called her bluff and forced her to kill herself, it's not much of a stretch to assume she was "running a backup," so to speak, of her half while explaining what she planned to do. It probably wouldn't even take that long - if she was confident she could transfer the entirety of her physical core before Jin could stop her, even with his light speed, how much slower would backing her memories up be?
    Although, this is really a semantics thing more than anything, since Rex would've needed to go to Elpys regardless for other reasons.

Its well known now that theres the planet which has the world tree (now 3 of them according to previous videos) connecting to the space station, which is part of the orbital ring which goes around the planet. However in the final cutscene when we see the hologram of alrest we see theres actually a 2nd orbital ring way further out, and that the space elevator connecting to the orbital station actually extends past the station and to this 2nd ring. • @vikurtz

      That "second ring" is actually a counterweight. It's far enough from the planet that the centrifugal force acting on it via inertia adds upwards tension on the three World Trees, alleviating the stresses due to gravity. Any space elevator setup that would exist in reality would make use of a counterweight system like this, as it significantly reduces construction costs and needs for maintenance.

    Personal headcanon whatever caused claus to rush his experiment (I think there was a war going on or something) was caused by smash melee reaching its logical peak.

    YES!
    The Trinity Processor is amazing and is capable of many incredible things.
    One thing I noticed when playing is that Klaus mentioned that the data the core crystals collect is sent to the Trinity Processor in order to optimize its capabilities. Because of this, I highly suspect that there's actually plenty of data being shared between Malos and Mythra all the time, though if that were the case, it would likely primarily be data concerned with the entire system rather than Malos and Mythra themselves.
    Another thing to mention is that after reading a crossover with Worm, I realized just how much the two share. For that reason, I can't wait to see one of the Aegises appear in that crossover.

    This also explains why she didn't die or lose her memories at the end. Because there was literally no reason she would. Which then just confuses me because it means everyone on that station, including me, just fucking forgot everything they were just explained long enough to be sad.

    I know the vid is old but I wanna put in my idea on how the revival scene works, hopefully you see this Luxin because I think this may be the most intended way for it to be seen. What Malos stole from Pyra wasn't just random data. He very deliberately stole her memories of her and Rex together. It's likely there's more he stole but the sum of her memories makes up personality in a way, so she'd wind up as a husk. When Rex comes near, he is able to talk to them because of their connection. At this time, the memories are able to be relayed back, because Rex and Pyra shared most of these memories together.

    My view is that the three aegises have their own assigned jobs/roles. Ontos is designed for creation, shown by Xenoblade 1. Logos/Malos is designated for destruction and deletion, since his power destroys things that he attacks, look at when he melts Zeke's weapon. Pnuema was made for editing and alteration of matter and laws, since that's her own power. In her initial cutscene she talks about how that's what her ability is.

    A suggestion Luxin, perhaps in future videos you can avoid using long stretches of footage with subtitles? I only bring it up because it was personally distracting, and I missed a good chuck of your explanation around 6 minutes in.

    this helped me out a lot
    the blades and especially the aegises bothered me so much because i couldnt wrap my head around what all they can do and i hate that kind of story telling i personally need things to make sense
    while i still dont care for them or fully understand why blades work the way that they do the aegises kind of make more sense to me now by thinking of them as computers first and not just powerful blades
    its still overly complex and i dont think ill ever be fully onboard with the concept as a storytelling element but at least they dont hurt my head anymore

    Luxin, do you think that Pyra/Mythra is still alive in XC3? And since Alvis kinda is gone by the end of XC1 and Malos died by the end of XC2, is there a chance that Mio could be a reincarnation/personification of Ontos and Noah of Logos? This has been playing on my mind because they have the same hair color. Lol. I think the endgame of XC3's story might need to get access to the power of the three processors to defeat whatever the new villain is on 3.

    Since Xenoblade 3 is a thing now could Malos use the Conduit/Zohar to connect to Xenoblade 1’s world and pluck a piece of it and brings it back to Alrest triggering Annihilation events before Xenoblade 3 since Malos destruction powers are like matter-antimatter annihilations.
