Dr. Facilier may have had “Friends on the other side” but not much is known about his life on the earthly plane. Seeing how he has become a fan-favorite character among the massive roster of Disney villains, one might think that there’s more information out there surrounding his back story, but in reality, there is only what the creators have said about his character. However, if you were to combine his character design with the real history of New Orleans and Voodoo, there are actually some really interesting concepts for his origin. And believe it or not these theories or concepts not only explain his motives in the movie, but also reveal some unsettling details about New Orleans.

When he tells Naveen that he is a royal himself, he was hinting that he was most likely the son of one of the Voodoo queens of New Orleans. I think it's fair to say that she was the one who taught him how to use Voodoo.
I remember hearing one of the original concepts for Dr facilier was he was Mama Odie son

Yeah and they were supposed to have a voodoo battle and faciler was supposed to turn into a fly after his voodoo backfired and he was supposed to get eaten by a frog. 🐸

I know there's been a theory on this channel talking about the slight possibility of Dr. Facilier being Tiana's dad. What if Dr. Facilier was actually Tiana's uncle, her dad's brother. Then after finding out his brother died, Facilier got into voodoo and began to blame the rich folk. That could also explain how Facilier knew about Tiana's dream. Facilier knew from his childhood with his brother that he wanted to start his own restaurant. As Tiana's dad was dying, he asked Facilier to watch over Tiana, however, when Facilier looked at Tiana he saw his brother, so he watched her from a distance.
That actually makes sense 😮

A lil tidbit to add here is NONE of the Loa are evil. All are powerful at varying degrees and some have darker themes as they are rooted deeply to the world but no aspect of voodoo is grounded in evil, vengeful at times, but still very human

I don’t think anything made him turn to evil but his own greed maybe his mother was mama odie she taught him the good side of vodoo but he craved power so her turned to the evil to make deals at the end his own greed caused his downfall

I remember that when I was trying to find out about Dr. Facilier I read that he was either Tiana's dad or Mama Odie's son
i know he and ursula had 3 kids uma freddy and facilia i been to new orleans and there is a haunted hotel there and a real ghost of a woman and resident evil 7 the baker house is based on a real haunted house in new orleans
The doctor is definitely a mulatto. His eyes are blue, and he is fairly light skinned. One scene that sticks out is when he holds up the shrunken head and claims to be half royal on his mother's side. What if that was true? What if a noblewoman had a affair with a black serving man, which produced Facilier? Shrunken head are a South American practice. What if he was raised by his father's family, and killed her for the sake of the ritual, then fled to New Orlean: getting into voodoo later? He hates the upper class for being deprived his birthright.
I really like this concept theory about the male character (Dr. Facilier).
It's pronounced Fuh-Seal-EE-A :) French names are hard I know but usually when there's an er it's pronounced like an A.

He said that you come royalty he came from the way back so I believe that he murdered he’s entire family was selfish reason It has to be possible he knew Tiana’s family from his past life he has history with them it could make sense right ?!
You know one thing I theorized about Doctor facility. A, is that, he was trying to liberate the black community in New Orleans, kind of like Eric killamanger in black panther, only. They went down the wrong path to do it comma indeed , it's mostly out of resentment, And maybe Doctor facility would have done the same to the black community, but I feel him being a black man, and New Orleans. During this time, and seeing all the wealth and privilege that white people had, he would have wanted, to make things even for him. And other people who look like him, this is just my theory of course.

You know..... I'm getting a little tired of seeing videos where people try to make other people feel sorry for pure evil. A villain is a villain. I swear this has blown up way too much ever since they made Malificent. Let's make the bad guys everyone feared for so long into what if characters. If they were not meant to be evil, then it would be included in the script.
I’m sick of it too. I’m also sick of these videos that act like these books written over the last few years about the villains are cannon. Especially when there are movies/shows ACTUALLY MADE BY DISNEY that aren’t cannon like The Little Mermaid 2.
The butchering of the name is really making it hard to finish watching this even if I enjoy the theory. The name is pronounced in the movie and clips 😅
So he married her daughter😢. We all have problems because its a viscous cycle. No knowledge no power. But teach kids what being different is and not teach them ablism colorism and the endless list of predictions. Teach them what people feel uncomfortable about talking about. Because it continuous fear rather then making it into knowledge.
