- Blackstar ID Core 10 v3 (BEST Sounding Entry Level Amp In The World?)
Is it the best sounding entry level amp out there? That's what Blackstar claim. This is the new and updated version of the ID Core series. It's a very affordable guitar amp and comes with the familiar modes from V2 of the range, but with some added features. We'll discuss those features, but above all check out how this amp sounds.
Hope you enjoy!

Longtime subscriber!
I been homeless and living in a hotel for a few months, bought one of these as a tiny amp for while I'm here.
Agreed! It's great! Better than I could have hoped.
Stay heavy man 🍀 UK
Thank you for your honestly and integrity. I am so getting resentful of the “reviewers” sitting in front of their wall of free amps and guitars sent by companies. Probably why a negative review is so rare. Peace
I'm thinking pretty much the same. Thanks for the support :)
They've all gone this way, even on here. They are all working for the manufacturers now. It's one big commercial on CZcams. Honest, user reviews are a thing of the past, mostly
specifically on the Harley Benton crap. I t is all over the place.@@gearoftones8585
I wish everyone is as honest and have the integrity as you. That's the kind of review that everyone should do
Thanks :)
I have the 10W V3 for a month now and I have absolute no problem with it, I think it sounds absolutely amazing. Maybe try connecting the guitar directly to the amp?
I've had mine for about a year hardly used it and now it doesn't work at all..Tried resetting it according to the directions but it just won't work..
I appreciate that you actually buy the gear you review - that makes you 1 of the only actual reviewers on CZcams. Most of the others are just paid salesmen
Much appreciated :)
An honest and disinterested opinion is appreciated, thank you Elmo. I have two Blackstar, the HT1R tube hybrid and the TVP 15 modeling, both sound good to me, well they actually sound much better than I can play.
Cheers!
Everyone shitting on this thing like it’s gonna sound amazing for a 130 dollar ten watt amp, obviously you have to compromise on the sound for something so portable , It’s a coffee table amp not a Marshall stack , cool your britches everyone
I went into my local shop thinking I was going to buy a Fender Champion 20 for my student amp (I teach some guitar and am stepping up my facilities).
I walked out with the ID Core 10 instead. It’s versatile, sounds good, and fun to play.
I knew I’d need to go in and do some editing, as the presets are too warm and bassy. The editing software got me where I wanted so now I can just plug and and rock without having to tweak any more. It’s still a bit boomy, but for a $150 practice amp for my students, it’s absolutely brilliant.
Another excellent and unbiased review. Thank you, Elmo! I would love to hear what you have to say about the newish Marshall MG 30 GFX Gold.
Need to try that series out.
Oof. I have a V2 and it’s my end table amp. I love it (for what it is). I’ve recommended the V2 to several people looking for beginner or practice amps. Don’t know if they’ve changed the voices, but I feel like this sounded way more fuzzy and compressed... I also have a Fly 3 and the V2 sounds very similar. Anyways, thanks for the honest review as always and fantastic playing - I could listen to those clean riffs and chords with the reverb and delay all day. 👍
Thanks :)
Hi..E,nice review, you crame a lot in that video, the riffs you did, sounded great, I really like the way you slid through the keys
Thanks :)
I like it the odl2 and odl1 sound and with the delay it sound amazing
The critics of these amps keep forgetting that this is a practice amp. That's how Blackstar advertises it. I have the V1 stereo 20 and it's far better than any amps I started out with 30 years ago. Perspective is everything.
I have a Marshall tube amp for my main but it's too loud at night or quiet situations. The ID Core is perfect for those times and even when you want you crank it up. I'm impressed how it sounds much bigger than it is. For the price, it's a good deal.
Great job. 👍🏻
Exactly! Now I have heard that the voice knobs stop working on these things. There's one for sale on reverb for 25 bucks. Seen a lot of them with the same problem. However, even the "Honest" reviews aren't very good either. Seems like they always say " For a few more bucks I'd recommend this amp or that amp." Some people don't have the money! Every single one of them end up recommending the same crap. They won't even look at lesser known brands that make decent amps. Amps that would be great for beginners on a budget. I've seen people review the Blackstar Fly and say wow, it's great! Then turn around and say they didn't like the Blackstar Debut 10e. I call B.S. on that! It's the same damn thing with an extra speaker! I've tried so hard to make a good decision about an amp, and I'm about over it. Even when they aren't paid, they seem to be biased based opinions and never an honest opinion. When I look for reviews, there are little to none unless it's expensive, and that tells me all I need to know. I like Elmo, don't get me wrong, and I think he's honest about his opinion, but I don't think it's without bias. The review will say "best affordable amps" then the amp at the top will cost four times as much as the one on bottom. Elmo included. Does it all the time. If it's not the same price, it shouldn't be compared. At all. It makes people think there's something wrong with the one on the bottom and that's not even true when the price is considered. So, I'm going to buy what I think sounds good. For the money I have. Someday when I can play decent I might start doing my own reviews. As a beginner, I don't need all the crap on the amp being reviewed and they break down all the time. So I'm sticking with a Blackstar Debut 10e. It's simple to use and for the money, I personally like the sound. It doesn't need to be loud, it needs to sound good at low volume. I'm playing at home! Sorry I'm on a rant, the whole amp thing just irks me off. I'm over it. I swear people make anything to do with music a thousand times more complicated than it needs to be. From learning to play, to the equipment. Sweetwater here I come!
Thank you soo much for this review man. I really appreciate that you intend to give a completely honest review. That's very professional. Just what i was looking for.
I find the ID core fantastic at very low volume,i can practice at 3am with a decent tone.
Same ☺️
I’ve had a blackstar fly for 5 years and agree with you - it’s brilliant and I preferred it to the ID Core 150 I had for a week and sent back !
Dude, I have a Blackstar Fly 3SW, are you saying that the presets and sounds that are in the ID CORE amps and presets are not good as the standard sound of the Fly? I'm asking because I am researching the ID CORE and looking to buy it before the end of this month.
of course the ID core series sound much better then a Fly 3. I had all of them. and the Fly 3 sounds good with the extra cabinet, but no way can compete with the ID core series I have the ID core 10, the ID core 20, the ID core 40, the ID core Beam. Somehow the ID Core 10 sounded better then the ID Core 20@@sansubr
@@Neshek023 I got the ID Core 20W v3 and it is an insane amp for the price. Especially the effects like reverb on Stereo sound amazing!
I just got one after demo’ing several at Guitard Centaur, looking for a headphone-capable small amp. You may not like it at all but it sure beats the pants off Fender and Peavey offerings in the same price range (
I agree with you Mr. Elmo Karjaĺainen
I just spent a lot of time researching desktop amps. Was looking at Yamaha, NUX, Boss and Spark. Blackstar wasn't even on my radar. There are many good ones and I'm not saying this is the best one, but for what it is, I was actually pleasantly surprised. I'm confused about how anyone would not like this little practice amp. I have a Friedman BE50 Deluxe amp, which is miles away from this amp in sound and quality, but I think for $160 it's hard to beat. Keep in mind it's only a desktop practice amp. I did own a Blackstar Club 40 MKII years ago and I thought it was ok, but ultimately sold it and put the money toward my Friedman. It wasn't bad, but just didn't inspire me. Actually I think this little amp sounds better than the Club 40 I had. All that aside, the delays are good and reverbs aren't too bad either. To me, it almost sounds like you might have had some preconceived notion that impacted your opinion, but perhaps you simply hear differently than I do. Subjective was the right word because with all due respect, I have to disagree with your assessment of this little amp. It's perfect for a tabletop practice amp and the price is on point. I ended up buying it and find it very useful and am happy with my purchase. It cost me less than most of my pedals though lol.
have you compared it to any of the other desktop amps you mentioned? the blackstar doesnt get talked about at all and i would have taken a chance on it had i known about it. i ended up finding a used yamaha thr10x for 150 bucks on facebook marketplace and im really happy with it but i am interested in the superwide stereo that the bnlackstar has, and for the price i might order one anyway.
All these amp up to silverline are incredible
Thank you so much for your honesty, and for recording some awesome guitar demonstrations like this one !!!! It's so precious in this world, and especially on the internet !
I've been homeless and living in a hotel for a few months... Bought one of these as a tiny amp for while I'm here. It's fantastic!🍀recorded with it and practice with it every day.
I think I reviewed it on me pathetic channel... Can't remember! Take care man 🎸
I never buy anything until I hear some decent demos or recordings and I’ve heard a few so I decided for the price, I’d get it. Not disappointed one bit. Day one you’ll get some decent sounds, and really notice the cabinet sounds & feel. The overdrive feels and sounds a lot like a good Maxon not the usual plastic sounds. I guess the downside is that not every guitar is gonna sound the same, but my Silvertone Fastback sounds so close to the Van Halen sounds I like, better than any other modeler or solid state, hybrid tube combo, and the fx are good, especially once you get everything just right. I liked things more around 10 or eleven o’clock on the ISF, turn the guitar volume down and leave the gain up at 5:30 and just use your guitar volume instead of expecting the amp to transform into the axe fx or something lol I seriously think the price and history of the ID Core amps just cause people to disrespect them and not even try them out properly.
Probably the best value for money amp I've ever owned OD 1 and 2 sound amazing
I agree I have the 40, and an HT20, which to me sounds awesome along with my pedals. As with any amp, I always found to tweak it before saying you don't like it. The software really opens the door as well.
total honesty how nice thankyou
BEST electric guitar amp review channel on the web! thanks
And thank you :)
The “wide stereo” is much more useful when using the amp for recording via line out directly to an interface. I’ve made a couple of videos using that method and the effects and stereo width is very good-sounding. If there are any other stereo amps in other brands, I’d be interested in checking them out but if Blackstar is the only stereo guitar amp, then I’m very happy with it.
Agreed!🍀
Thank you for your honesty
great Elmo!!
Gracias :)
Thank goodness for honest unpaid reviews 👍. I settled on a Katana mini which you gave a good review of, and it really does sound great for not much cash.
Glad I could help :)
Update..
So, despite my comments regarding the ID Core series, I took the bait and purchased one (ID Core V3 10).
I played it most of the afternoon, and I have to say that Finally, the ID Core sounds right. I really was impressed with the tones offered on this amp. So far, I've used the Super crunch, full gain, medium reverb through my USA Stratocaster and I was not disappointed at all. I feel this amp sounds better than the previous versions 1 & 2 in a way where it sounds a little more raw and less processed.
Of course I've yet to really use all its features, but from a take out from box, plug in, and play perspective, I really like it. I'm not sure that it compares to my Positive Grid Spark amp as far as tones, features, and as a utility tool, but in its most simple form, it rocks.
No pairing with a phone or app, just dial a tone and play. More play, less fucking around with settings and apps.
So, I am eating crow. It's a solid amp for the price, and it does what i need it to do. Plug in, play, switch on, switch off.
Just my two cents. Blackstar did it right this time, and I hope this is the last ID Core series i have to buy!
Glad it works for you :)
how is the volume control? is it linear or logarithmic?
It works for me too it's a bad ass little amp I bet you kept the one they sent you
@@jeffadams2789 propubly didn’t use laptop for deeper settings
I had an id10 v1 and it did sound like horse droppings. I have an artisan and an ht5 V2 both of which are great in different ways.
For the overdrive you have to turn the gain to max and volume all the way Down or turn it to where you hear it
Wow... I thought your demo sounded great. I was impressed by the sounds you got out of such a tiny thing.
I watched this video on my phone and thought I'm glad mine (the same model) is coming in a couple of days.
Then... I was surprised by your reaction, I really thought you were enjoying it! 😳
I will make my own mind up when it comes... I, myself, am easily pleased and if any companies want to send me free stuff, I'll accept any brand of amp or effects ... left-handed guitars only though. 😏
Thank you
Mr A T Heist
You just got a subscriber and a like for not being a sellout.
The 'Superwide Stereo' does work very well. I think it uses a Psychoacoustic effect to appear wider than the amp. Only seems to be on the Delay/Reverb.
Hi Elmo, I see a JHS PG14 there, can we expect a review in the future? I'm kinda curious 'bout those. Always thanks for the honesty on the reviews. Cheers!
Thanks! Yep, it's already made. I have a bunch of stuff made, but it should be out fairly soon.
Sounds epic to me
Ok.
Dude you are so awesome... Such an honest review dude♥️♥️ hats off
Glad you liked it!
@@MrPolevaulter i have a tight budget then can i opt for the blackstar id core 20 V2 ?
Good to see people honest on CZcams. Every other say everything sounds great.ha
Thanks about your trying
I have a 20W v3 and it is pretty decent for the price and I love the reverb and delay FX on this amp especially in that stereo effect. I miss not having a footswitch when I need to switch on FX or change patches and it is not available in my country. For people who just want to practice and play the guitar, this is a really good amp. The only dissatisfaction I have with this amp is that the tonal reproduction may sound the same irrespective of the guitar. I have the Fly 3W too which I got before getting the 20W amp, and it doesn't sound that great to me. I think the 20W sounds better than the 10W.
I bought an HT5 back in the day and just could not get sounds I liked out of it. I later dropped on a used Artisan 15 combo and it is fabulous, no comparison at all (bit unfair given the price difference). That was sort of reflected in their list of 'name' users which were mainly Artisan or Artist users.
I was thinking about getting this but I thought perhaps I'd see if you have a review on it and of course, I will keep looking 🙏
Best of luck with your search.
Hey Man Great work.👍
Please do a review of Fender champion 20.
I just looked at it today, and it was sold out at Thomann.
I have a fly and it’s a great little battery powered amp
Yep :)
Thanks for the honest reviews Elmo,. Seems like these type of new modelers would sound better in a long tube like cab. Using wireless remote speakers to really spread out the stereo effect. I guess their business model is based on beginner's not knowing any better
What's you thoughts on the new Marshall MG gold line? Thanks
Haven't tried the MG line. I really need to fix that.
@@MrPolevaulter Thanks.👍
Elmo (this Guy)
As always your vidéos are the Best on CZcams.
Simply Because your à finnish guy🤔
Stay the same, you are true
Thank you very much :)
I very much appreciate your honest reviews but also can you suggest a best entry level sounding amp for beginners?
I have two videos on 8 great cheap amps. Check those out. I'd go for a Spark Mini or a Roland Cube of some sort (original Micro Cube if you can find one)
I have a blackstar id core 10 watt version and while I do agree that it's not the best sounding amp in this segment(the boss katana mini sounds better in my opinion) but it's got a good range of effects which do make a difference in the tone
you are in my mind dude go on :)
Hi Elmo thanks for this review! How would you compare this to the Mustang lt25? I'm really confused between the lt25 and idcore20 to buy.
I much preferred the LT25.
Thank you for NOT being the rest. This is why I sub you. Well that and you kick ass. Hahaha. I love individualism....
Thanks :)
Would you rather have this or the Roland Cube?
Also how is the Wilkinson trem on your strat?
Thinking of getting one myself
The Wilkinson is great. Did you watch the video? I thought this amp was terrible. I'd rather get almost anything instead of this.
@@MrPolevaulter I'm looking into rolands
Do any work, or only the micro?
@@AGM124PGT Most of the Cube series does. The Street version wasn't good.
Your really fun to watch and a great reviewer. I'm really struggling on purchasing this or the fender champion 20. Which would u prefer, or anyone else? Anyone have experience with these 2 amps who could give their opinions on which is the better amp? They're both the exact same price where I'm at.
Thanks Jeff! Haven't tried the Fender, so don't know.
Hi Jeff, not sure how you got on , but I had the fender champion 20 , which I found to be a bit tinny, I sold it and bought the Id core v3 20, sounds so much better , hope this helps 😀
Nice review. Ma I politely suggest doing comprehensive introductions of what the item actually is..
What is it though? Digital modelling? All analogue? What wattage..? etc.
Thanks! You may, but that stuff is all available through googling. People lose interest if I speak too much, so I've been doing less of it recently.
How have I just found you? Great stuff, sir!
Glad you enjoy it!
beetween the Marshall MG15 FX and the Boss Katana Mini witch one you recomand for a beginer? thanks
Haven't tried the Marshall, so can't say.
That was my first amp when I bought my first guitar. Within a week I brought it back and took a katana 100 home instead.
I don't always agree with your reviews, but I have to recognize your sincerity and honesty.
No paid reviews here, for sure.
Thank you :)
fender makes a decent small amp for practice and small venue gigging. check out their gt line of amps. or for a little more money. try the gtx line. I have and use on a regular basis the gtx 50. It is just amazing. lots of preloaded tones. the ability to download and install more tones. or you can make your own tones using the blank spaces provided. i di some crazy things with some of my blank spaces.
I agree. I had the 20 Watt and the 40 Watt Version for a couple of Weeks and send it back. Then I tried the Blackstar Debut 15...didn't worked anymore after 2 days, send it back 🙈The Fender champion 20 and 40 Watts are much better sounding and you can choose Classic Amp Sounds from Tweed to modern Hi Gain and Effects too. But great and honest Review. Thank you 🤘🏻
Thanks!
My first amp was actually ID core 40 V2 and I liked it naturally cause it was my first amp without proper comparison to others. But soon I noticed, that the OD sounds are not that good. Bought the second amp - Roland micro Cube - WOW -- now I got an AMP. Smaller, not stereo but the actual sounds were awesome. Now I have more amps but have to say that I still like to search new combinations of the multiple effects ID core 40 V2 offers and with clean sounds. I thought that should I buy the new V3 version now in case it has improved the actual sounds specially ODs...but because your analysis I think I rather use my 40 V2. I had difficulties to find real difference between OD1 and 2 and also the ISF EQ. The handle in V3 is non worthy issue for me. By the way...is that 10V3 hizzing on some sounds like 40V2 does ? Maybe FLY or TVP series are good?
This is a great amp imo been playing it for a year now and I have no issues whatsoever and it sounds great too, I guess people have preferences but you kinds took it way too far by saying this was the worst amp ever and that you'd rather prefer anything else lol, that can't be true whatsoever I've heard way worse tbh, being honest about a review and everything is cool but it seems like you just undergraded the amp so that you could have people say that you gave them an honest review and also that you could stand out of the rest of the positive reviews out there.
Should I get it?
I totally agree with you, you read my mind I had this amp as a beginner too and what he says about it is just not right, it's a great entry level amp for its price.
@@mrchug8371 bet I’m gonna buy it
I'm planning to but the amp too! Thought this guy was genuine but now I'm not gonna watch him anymore lol, but if you could spend a bit more bucks you could get a boss katana 50 and that things is a fucking beast, one of the best amps ever made
He said "it's not the worst amp" and recommended it over some fender champion
Great review and super-accomplished playing (as usual) but anybody else notice the lack of treble / brighness ? Sounds as if the tone control on the guitar is set below 5 ! Or is it just the amp settings ? Anybody else think so ?
Hey.. I'm really confused between this amp and fender mustang 1 v2 to stack with a squier bullet strat... Please help me out here. Your reply would make my day!!!
I haven't tried the Fender, so can't really say, but I think I'd probably go for the Fender, as I didn't like this amp.
Hello everybody, someone may can help me? I would like to know whats the difference between V2 and V3... thanks a lot for your help!!
Remember his opinions on the sound is subjective. I really like the crunch and clear bright on my strat. Love OD1 on my humbucker guitars. Also, amazing stereo with headphones. Have the Fly 3 too. It sounds tinny in comparison. Do try before you buy because your opinion may be different.
Hello!
I am kinda worried now because I wanted to buy the 20 watt version of the V3 for home use.
Can you tell me if the 20 watt is any better?
Haven't tried it, so I don't know, but I doubt it.
@@MrPolevaulter yes it is
Maybe It is not true wide super stereo but sounds much much much better with 2 speakers. For example i had Black Star superfly , It was good, but when i bought cabinet for it and made stereo, that completely changed character, space ,sound.
The same with Black Star id core 100 that i'm using today. Stereo effects loop, of course It is not true stereo with two amps but sounds mouch better than in mono effects looper.
Od course true stereo is only when you use 2 amps, properly set in angle and distance
well you right, i got one of em,, clean channel is has no problem, but on the overdrive i feel like "YACK"
finally i sell mine, then what shuld i buy for the new one?
Thanks man, enjoy your video
Thanks!
I've just watched a bit of it with google's English transcription and... Hello Mr El Moji Cardiology! (Karjalainen is cardiology?)
Haha :D Karjalainen means person from Karelia (although I'm not from there).
How does it stack up to the Spark 40? Which is louder?
I would prefer the Roland cute 10 gx
I was surprised to hear your dislike of this device. I like how you play and I thought it sounded alright. Maybe it sounds better on the recording than being sat next to it and that, I imagine, would be a drawback.
I have been playing the ID Core 40 V1 for about 5 years. The stereo sound has spoiled me. Mono amps now sound dull and lifeless to me. I like the clean and crunch tones on the id core amps but not the overdrive tones. I think my joyo ultimate drive pedal sounds much better. Some of the online patches for download are pretty good but allot of them sound very similar. I like the built in usb audio interface and it work great just for listening to music because it has full range stereo. Lately I have been thinking about trying out the Positive Grid Spark because there seems to be more variety of patches. For the price it has been a very good amp for practice / bedroom.
That's been my experience with the ID:Core too Nick, although having looked into them with all the unavoidable hype since their release, I'm not interested in a Spark Grid for my purposes. My ID:Core (V1) will have been in service with me for five years this October. Have lots of amp choice here in my humble home studio, but the ID:Core 40 (V1) gets used more frequently because of its convenience. The combination of its smaller collapsable (floor decoupling) foldback stand size and weight, its weight both lending to quick and easy portability a 2x12 combo whether solid state or valve just doesn't offer, combined with its comprehensive feature set offering versatile functionality, fidelity, plus its immersive SWS sound and perfect for practice purposes without loss of presence volume.
Although bought more recently I also have its proprietary Blackstar FS-11 smart footswitch which although pitched at a 'will I or won't I' typical accessory price point, does add significant value to the amp for those who will use its functionality. I'd recommend it to anyone who owns this amp who knows how to use its features, uses them in actual practice and intends to keep the amp long term used regularly deployed as a home practice or jamming with others at moderate volumes amp.
Along with my Fly 3s, my ID:Core still gets more regular use than I thought it would when I bought my larger, louder amps when their grunt just isn't necessary nor any more welcome than their weight. I like my ID Core so much, I actually pressed the buy button on another new 40W (V3) only yesterday when the opportunity arose at a 'too good not to' price. IDK if the current super SALE price opportunity is down to the world economic conditions impacting consumer sentiment and spending or there's a V4 or complete alternative new superseding model offering in the wind, and frankly don't care. Deal. It worked for me. Now if only I could land a similar deal on their FS-10 footswitch! Blackstar's 40W ID:Cores fill a niche in the market, and offer spectacular value at their price point.
What amp do you recommend in this price range? Im looking to sell my line 6 spider v, and replace it with something that can handle high gain tones a bit better
Not really a high gain type of player, so not sure. I use a more classic setup with a Plexi and an overdrive.
Joyo zombie
dude post your best amps Im looking forward under 200 under 500 etc
I might. A practice amp video is in the works.
It is a best sounding. For people who wanna learn
Great video! But what we really want to know is , as an actual plexi player, what pedal that you’ve played gives that modded plexi sound the best? Thanks Elmo
You mean on another amp?
@@MrPolevaulter yes...just a standalone pedal through most clean amp channels. If you’ve tried such pedal
@@devilslide01 I haven't :(
Can you use multi effects pedals with this amp? I heard somewhere that they don’t react to pedals being plugged in
Can't remember.
Yes you can use pedals with it
Totally lacklustre box of PCB's and fizzy speakers you have there Elmo ... When it comes to gear reviews I for one appreciate your honesty man. BTW ... Have you been conditioning your custom strats neck as it was looking nice in this video.
Thanks Chris! No, I just changed strings on it a while back. I don't think I did anything else to it though, except for wiping off a bit of dirt with a cloth.
what did you do to the amp at 14:55? to make it more heavy distorted?
Overdrive pedal.
It sounds good to me for what it is and how much it cost. what do you expect for an entry level amp that is less then 200 bucks? plus the speaker has to have time to break in
watching this after i bought this as my first amp :D, well i got goofed i guess
Is mg30gfx 30w 1x10 or orange crush 35rt or this blackstar better?
Haven't tried the MG.
I have one of these I can’t a good clear tone out of it to save my life
How about boss katana mini? Is it better than this one for beginner practice?
It's good. Even better is the Micro Cube imo. Or Fender Mustang LT25, or Harley Benton Tube5 or 15.
I trust you. Would like to know if black Star coreid 100 or 150 have same problems as this 10
Sorry, haven't tried those.
Suggestion to review the BanTamp range??
Looking at the Jackman II. Might do a review of that soonish.
Hi dude is this blackstar id core v3 10 good for performance? If it is not good for performance shall I go for v3 20
Probably a bit small for live use.
I like my v2 but never use it. I should put it back into use to see how it does.
What do you use instead?
All of the Blackstar ID Core Line are stereo but the speakers are so mslaa that the 10 and 20 watt versions are a bit weak on actual volume and really don't have much bass. and the fact that you got the 10 watt I have anOriginal ID Core 40 watt stereothat sounds greatfor the tiny 6.5 in, speakers.. I also re-amp it through my surround system for far m ore bass and much more volume.. thee amp part is great but needs bigger speakers to really soung good.. I designed a pair of vertical 4 X 12 tower cbs to asddd to this tiny amp through a mod of adding switchee 1/4 in output jacks into the towers direct or through a switching box I can then got fromamp to towers or to the surround system and then to all the speakers in thr system including the towers integrated into the while .. A preliminary test from the 1/8 headphone out jack through a 1/8 stereo to RCA rt and lft into the CD in of my surround receiver ans the surround re-amps it adding bass.., sub woofer included...so a much more full sound overall. thre towers set side by side are in effect a full stack with the Blackstar as a head simce the headphone jack disables the internal speakers when in use.. so for better access to the controle i lay the ampface down so the sontrols are facing forwqrd. like any amp head.. if o use the add4d output lacks that will disablre the internal speakers when in use getting the full power of the amp to amy other destination I choose..
Hilarious 😆 two thumbs up!! (The video, not the amp, of course)
Thanks! 😃
You need to sit dead in front of it.
The auto wah, the spring reverb, three of the delays, the super crunch, warm clean, and OD1 sounds are great.
I have gotten on with it real well.
I always have the isf all the way anticlockwise, the other way its just mud.
I played every little practice amp which had modelling.
It beat them all! I generally don't like blackstar, not really.
But I liked this the most!!!!
Maybe I just have poor taste and judgement after 30 years of session and live playing; I guess the playing on my channel should speak for me.
But
Vive le diference!!!
I kind of love that we disagree; I adore your playing, your tobe, your channel!!!🍀
But I massively disagree on this one!🍀
Should I buy this or Marshall CF15
Haven't tried that Marshall, but I didn't like thid much.
I agree! It sounded so bad I have a headache now! I wonder how they felt about this at blackstar after trying to send you one!
I'm guessing i won't get any more offers from them :D
Hi Elmo, 2 thumbs up for you providing your view. I actually wish these companies would stop making junk. Just focus on building their good stuff and stop distracting the market with garbage. There’s no point buying a lousy product for anyone.
Yep. This thing was really poor.
If Elmo doesn't like it, then I don't like it!
one day you apply to be the high priest of his fresh cult.
Hmm, I might stick with my old Fly 3 a bit longer 🙂
I have heard mixed reviews on this
