- Using the lapel to set up gi shenanigans has been all the rage for awhile now. A fun series we have been playing with at the gym is the "Rubber Lapel" game.
With plenty of experience playing Rubber Guard the gi concepts are easy to apply instantly and this video is a great introduction to the concepts of the position and setting up the initial control.
There is something very satisfying about tangling up your opponent in their own gi, and all the options that come from this type of control.

Fucking awesome
Once you have rubber lapel is it still an option to hit the gogoplata?
Did you ever figure this out?
Update?
Would be hard cause you're holding your own shin/ankle with their lapel.. you'd have to release that grip to let the leg free ..
I thought is called grubber guard with gi and rubber guard not gi
Ok. But how you will do zombie if opponent keeping your collar ?
Grabbing the collar with THEIR right hand or left hand?
Grubber guard is with gi and rubber guard not gi
