  • Hysen puts up some big lifts with a 166kg snatch, a 208kg and 211kg clean and jerk. We kept these under wraps but now that Hysen is off to London, we are posting them. Hysen's body weight at the time was about 83kg.

This is one of the best lifters I have ever seen. With the right country he would be a world champion for several years. Absolutely amazing speed, that is just a natural gift he has. He can still add more muscle to his frame also.

Feel a little silly saying this but I got emotional watching this clip. You guys have been very open about documenting your relationship with Hysen and his commitment to excellence in the sport of weightlifting. As a viewing fan it was powerful to watch him hit these monumental lifts. Thanks for sharing :)

As shady as it may sound, his coaches should have had better foresight. He was the first one caught in London, which had to be embarrassing, All that hard work went to shit.

Yes, strike two with the IWF is a lifetime ban. Very sad. He will probably lose most if not all of his stipend in Albania and have to pick something else up, like playing an accordion.

No substance can take away the work and dedication needed to be a world champion, its unfortunate that athletes have to resort to substances to simply compete and make their podium dreams a reality. My admiration for Hysen or any other athlete caught will not change because of something that society deems wrong for no real reason but moral grounds..i look forward to watching him in the future despite what results he gets..

For me personally, this video - and the other footage of Hysen on this channel - is some of the most beautiful in all of sport. As an intermediate weightlifter, I am inspired every time I come back and see this.
Please know that many of us don't judge anybody about what happened. I just want to see Pulaku continue to lift. It is truly amazing.

I know your comment is really old but figured I’d tell you that I asked him on Instagram live twice if he’s coming back and he laughed and said no. Another instance I asked him what he does now for a living since he’s not training. Again I asked him on instagram live. He laughed while smoking a cigarette and drinking a coffee with a female individual and a male individual in plain view and replied “nothing. I don’t do nothing” with a smile. He was the greatest that never was

Since Mark Rippetoe has now told people that the comments are very important to read on this thread, I will publicly say that I had nothing to do with Abajiev coming over here. I got to CalStrength after he had come and gone. He took protein, Podium Gold and B-12 here. We obviously may not know everything he has taken but for now, we will give him the benefit of the doubt. If he made a mistake, we won't turn our backs on him but we will not defend him either if he has taken something knowingly. We will see how this unfolds. Regardless, we will not ban him from our gym.
