- Having lived through each release of armored core and with recent comments made by Hidetaka Miyazaki, I thought I would take the time and show and breakdown when the Armored Core Games have been released in the past, and from there, guess at when the next thing comes.

It is safe to assume, considering the lengthy development cycle for the Elden Ring expansion, that it will take more time than Armored Core fans are used to for a follow up to AC6. The bar is set higher this time. By now we should be patient, considering the gap between the 5th and 6th generations.

It was the prettiest armor core we've ever gotten. Graphically, it's outdated. And on the PlayStation side, the game is basically dead. And the American audience keeps getting slimmer and slimmer. The game is still on Balanced. And there are still so many parts that are useless. So if they do revision of six like they had with all the rest of them In the Series It wouldn't be hard because The groundwork is already been laid But if they go.
Straight to 7 It will be built From the ground up for the newer hardware. Which will take some time around 4 2 5 years But in honestly the grand scheme of armored core this one was very lazy Is it fun absolutely.
Is it watered down beyond belief. So there really is no bar here because this was a rough draft at best It felt more like Mecha souls die twice. Don't get it twisted, it's still one of my favorite games but I'm just being honest. When compared to 4 answer last raven And another age.
And silent line verdict day it comes up pretty short. Especially considering they had 10 years to do something with this franchise. And this Watered down dark souls sekiro Version of Armored core is what we got So it's not that the standards are higher your expectations are much lower.

I loved AC6. For the single player, I’ve used every part/weapon in the latest patch. They work in single player, that’s enough for me. Loved the single player campaign. Can’t get enough.
The game is understandably a problem in PvP multiplayer. Hope they change the next AC6.5 to be Co-op multiplayer instead. That’ll be more fun for me. I don’t like the current PvP in AC6, though I’ve never played the multiplayer.🤣
Hope they increase the AC load out limit. I’ve reached the 400 limit multiple times.
The problem is they had a separate division for AC6. Might not be as long as we think.

I was so worried when AC5 came out I was worried about the franchise I was scared it was going to die like that . When AC six came out I was relieved and I’m still happy to see there’s a community for it and I hope it continues.

Oh I like this prediction. I'd guess they have been planning a prequel where you are the Branch Raven, so if they're as forward-looking as I think they are with AC then this could be very accurate. I do think their development cycle is a bit longer these days because they do more art and spend more money on art. Game Awards this year (and next year if we miss) will be great fun to watch for trailers though.
being branch raven also gives you an excuse to start again with the begining rad ac (exclusding head), this let you set up another "start from the bottom" story, the problem is how do you introduce new weapons/equipment since its a prequel

@@reliantbelial2341looking at how 4 and 5s sequels are named, I think fromsoft would tie in the Roman numerals for 6 ‘VI’ into the name. We have FOR answer, and Verdict day, I think that could work with the theme they have going. I chose Vindication as it’ll likely follow the story of nightfall raven and the PCA

Not sure when, but I hope they have more multiplayer features. Like Gen 4s freedom in making custom lobbies: Free for all, 4v4, 1v7, 2v2, etc.
I enjoy the bigger matches. I just hate that I have a lobby and some people don't get to olay cuz of how limited the mode selection is. Why can't I just put on elimination free for all with 9 players? Or make a lobby of hide and seek with 1 guy with duel ear shots and 8 Trasho builds hiding in the cities hahah
For me the big question is how are they gonna turn the title into a pun.
last raven was so hard i had a soulsbaby raging when i convinced him to play it.
admittedly i had him start with the zinaida path(where you fight zinaida in internecine) but i had blueberrypoot raging.
I remember that demo disc - Playstation Underground. Played they hell out of those two sorties before it was released.
I do think we're in for some exciting follow-up content and wouldn't be surprised to hear some noise about it as we get closer to the new Elden Ring DLC release.

I'd look up sources to be safe, but I believe they're working on 3 games currently. There's a speculated new ip under the moniker Spellbound; However, the others may be a AC6.5.

I too, have thought about this and I think your spot on. It's roughly the same schedule that I was thinking. Though, I was thinking the announcement would bed around the 1 year mark of AC 6. I think another game awards reveal would be amazing though.
This is the thing: FS will deliver the ER DLC this month, but probably there was some development of other game since AC6 release. AC6 has positive but not outstanding sales and also is not pretty active in PVP right now. There is something crucial here, after ER DLC, there is no game promised by FS, so it's highly probable to have new AC content in the next 1 - 2 years
souls fans, please understand. many of us legit thought armored core was dead, that from had sold out to farm soulslikes. i had given up for 2 years myself when the trailer came out for ac6. Not that i'm blaming you guys or your games. but like i hope that never happens again for either of our preffered game types.

Oh stfu. From innovated with every game past Demons' Souls. Save DS2, every subsequent game was maximum effort on improving the formula or giving it a twist like with BB and Sekiro. So tired of /v/redditors shitting on Souls games. They didnt give the formula the Call of Duty treatment, they made big steps up every time in both gameplay and story.

SIlent line, Nexus, 9 Breaker, and Last Raven were additions to 3. You could take your save from the first and carry it on through the additions. This was the same with the games one the PS 1 and the PS 2 games

It’s an amazing time to be an AC fan, I remember getting AC1 8 years ago and not thinking much of it because I was terrible at it and havent played anything like it now I have played every game in the series (admittedly rushing to beat them all before AC6 release) and it is easily in my top 5 game series of all time. Can’t wait to hear the podcast!
All I really want are more parts too fiddle around with for pvp, a new game or expansion though'd be a huge bonus to 6 as the parts in 6 felt somewhat lacking.

Honestly, the best outcome I can see is a multiplayer-focused VI.5 release ala ACVD. They've gone on record saying ACVI was SP first, with MP as an afterthought. This is their chance to give MP some more love, change some mechanics, add more parts, etc. I can see them adding more Arena opponents and such, maybe some co-op type content, but I feel like this would be a low bar to clear since it's been nearly a decade of being MIA and they had to do all this groundwork to get to VI. Of course, would be happy if they went above and beyond this and added more campaign content, but I don't think it's a requirement.
I don't mind waiting one or two years any longer than idk

I know AC 5 was enjoyed by a lot of people, but for me it was the first time I felt left out by the series and I've been playing since the original demo disc, but I only needed to see the initial gameplay preview to know that game was not for me. Until news about 6 surfaced I was sure that AC4A was going to be the last good AC, but now I think AC6 supplants both AC4A and Last Raven. Can't wait to see more of this current gen and hope we'll get to import our parts again.

I would imagine we will ger more armored core news a month or two after shadow of the erdtree. As for another game, probably won't be for a bit, though I can't wait for AC6+ that Striker/Vumsy were working on (they may be others working on it).
A lot of the quick development cycle was due to the fact that that's the game that they were working on. That's what the studio was known for that's all the studio did. Right after for answer, we started dark souls. The development cycle became. Twice to 3 times as long.

I can't say when we will see ACVI.5 as you put it but I can say stuff I want to see. Personally I'd like to see and mind you this is going by someone who can't beat the juggernaut let alone balteus or the sea spider. But I would like to see a return of the debt mechanic maybe not human plus since 621 basically is a type of human plus, also maybe get rid of the stagger gauge and bring back the overheating mechanic. because for me personally I loved to drop my opponents AP down fairly low, and then overheat them so there remaining AP just dries up without me doing anything. But also I want to see a type of return to the Ravens nest and have to go head to head with other Ravens who happen to be in the merc outfit with you, because you have a mission to protect something and they have a mission to destroy what you are trying to protect.
I'm hoping whatever comes next is either a dlc/standalone expansion and not 7, just for consistency sake. No other real reason. I'm hoping if they use the stagger mechanic for whatever is next they de-emphasize it a lot.
Im fairly new to the series as a whole. And wouldnt care its a stand alone 6.5 or a dlc expansion. Either way more AC is good as im really enjoying my time with 6
I personally dont think we will see a 6.5 and will instead be a straight jump to 7. AC6 feels like testing the waters and riling up the pond. A DLC expansion for 6 might not be able to make a big splash so they will instead focus on making an explosive sequel, bigger and better in every way imaginable and make a slam dunk performance. My guess anyways. Itll be lovely if they make an expansion.
My prediction is that after elden ring dlc drops, they will make balance changes etc for both ER and AC VI. They will announce a DLC for ac6 in early 2025. They are currently working on spellbound and i think its their main focus right now. Bandai/Kadokawa wants them to broaden their spectrum in order to capitalize on fromsofts good track record. As every decision in gaming is about money, i think we will have to wait until 2026 for a new armored core game. Yes it surpassed shareholders expectations but not in the manner the souls games do and its playerbase died relatively quickly. Sadly they slowed down on balance patches otherwise the game would be alive
You´re right except for mentioning Spellbound, it was debunked months ago.
In the meantime, just play the armoury mod or the coop mod.

I'm not sure what you saw a few months ago but its been neat to role play a Joshua Obrien with the older Judith, Soluh and Hogire parts.
With a cool pay off of upgrading to a custom White Glint with Coral/Uranium intergration. Especially with proper wing thrusters.
Other than that they seem to be adding more enemies to each mission and more logs to collect for some future additions they're working on.
Were you happy with armored core 6 as an old ac fan?
I thoroughly enjoyed it. I feel there is much room for improvement, but I have loved playing this game.

So, I don't think there will be a 6.5 as they are already talking about AC7. I also don't think there will be a 6.5 because 6, from what I've seen from other people, was not well received compared to other AC games in the past. As much as I like AC6, I don't see them sticking with it in terms of DLC, and will move onto the next game in the series.
I think it was well received, but def simplified, and the pvp is mostly in the garage., but i could see a major dlc, but I'd hope for a new game with build mechanic changes and maybe some controll changes
@@kosen3595 It's weird seeing a modern game being talked down on by older games made by the same developer. I honestly think people's expectations of this game were way too high and that's why they were disappointed with what they ultimately got.
