  • This is a video on a new script call "CloseView" for the Pixinsight software to help automated a process container workflow by removing images you no longer need. Below is the repository link to this new script. Many thanks to Mike Cranfield for creating this script for me and I look forward to other scripts coming soon :-)

Bill, amazing work, thanks to Mike as well, at beginning I was feeling a little lost, but after you put all together shows how efficient script can be automating our work flow, fantastic job! Thanks for sharing

Lol, yeah, I was affraid of putting this video out there to be honest, but I had to do something to help fix some of these issues. I was in the middle of solar timelapse processing when I came across this pixelmath/process container issue and I could not finish without using this script.

Thanks for this Bill. I use process containers and can see how useful this will be. Looking forward to seeing the new developments! Thanks again for your enthusiasm and hard work.

Very nice Bill! I've not used process container much but I can see how this would be useful with your CloseView script. Really liked the star reduction. Much better than manually creating masks for individual bright stars.. like I've been doing, lol. CS!

Thanks buddy! Just wait until our Star Reduction script comes out! Sooooooo much easier

Brilliant! A while back I wondered if there was a way to automatically close an image but couldn’t find one. But now! Thanks you both.

Brillant, Bill! I'm looking forward to seeing how you will integrate this script to create other great tools. I use your scripts in all my images. Keep up the great work.

    Thanks for your great work!
Based on this video, I created my first process container to apply the DarkStructureEnhance script specifically to unmasked areas only.

Wow! Next cool idea that I will surely give a try. By the way: what was this cool trick with the solar image? It really looked very nice. Maybe you can share some sharpening scripts or Pixelmath for solar in the future? 😎I do a lot of solar timelaspes with hundreds of files…
Thanks a lot to you guys!!!

I used a "rescale" process in pixelmath which will rescale an image from the min value to the max. The only issue with this method for timelapse is that if you have a flare that goes super bright, then the lighting adjusts accordingly, so a lot of times in my work I will use a known value for the min and max using rescale. example: rescale($T, min($T) , max($T) ) or rescale($T, 0.20 , 0.80 ). I will be releasing a sharpening pixelmath script soon, and more solor processing stuff, I just got to wrap up these upcoming script releases coming soon. Shoot me an email and we can go over some of this stuff it you like. anotherastrochannel at gmail

Wow, this is really impressive and exciting then to create new things and simplifying the Workspace with the number of processes sometimes ! One question by the way : how could an image be applied as a mask onto an existing image automatically using something like pixel math for instance (to even more automate what you've just shown) ? Thanks a lot Bill.
