What a COLD but amazing few days! We drove to a remote cabin 52 miles (83km) from Longyearbyen, on our snowmobiles in -30C! The cabin has NO modern amenities, no toilet, water or electricity. And this is where we spent a few days, out in the arctic wilderness! I hope you enjoy this video and thank you so much for being here! 🧡☕️

Best comment of the year so far! “ Some would say it’s a dream , Some would say it’s a prison” says Christopher. I laughed literally out loud when he said that. Christopher is a man of few words but when he talks it’s wise.
😂😂😂
I did too! 😆
Maybe have that stitched on a throw pillow or a coffee mug 😂
By far the best comment! Smart man😂
That was the cutest saying, I bursted out laughing...exactly why Christopher is the Best.
ONLY Cecilia would be able to manage turning falling on the ice into a positive thing 😂 “I cracked my back but in a good way!” I just love your spirit girl 🙌🏼
Dr jannah istutite video watch
Hahahahahahaha she’s so funny, she’s the best hahshahahaha
how is it that Christoffer is so quiet and yet makes the video 100 times better
His vibes
I know, right? Cecilia talks through the entire video, Christoffer says 10 words and has me dying! Every time.
Christoffer is absolutely a gem! I love when hes on, and his cooking, out of this world 🌎
Worrrddd. He's pretty amazing. Steady as she goes, in the parlance of ship folk.
It's the dry humor for me.
Your videography is becoming more and more professional and fascinating. Many full length documentaries that I have viewed are no where near the quality that you are producing. I hope that one day you will produce a full length documentary about the island.
Oh wow thank you so much! 😃🙏
This is my bucket list. I wish I could come this year
You're absolutely right!!
Yes! I agree! 💯
True
Christoffer's pearls of wisdom are hysterical!! I'm still laughing! ❤❤Great video as usual!
😂🧡
As a wheelchair user I wouldn’t last 5 minutes in this environment - but I would LOVE it if I could. Especially with a Grim companion 🐶
You live in a truly stunning part of the world, thanks for sharing so much of it
Me too
Don't feel too bad. I walk and would not like the weather, but I would like to be there. 😊
My 11 yr old son who uses a wheelchair nearly full time loved this episode saying, “me sled, me sled!” ❤️❄️⛄️
@@LindaY26 He may not get to Svalbard to sled, but there are heaps of great places with adaptations where he could, I hope he gets the chance at some point ❤️ to him
@@jacquelineharper-simmons12 I love the idea of the weather there. I absolutely hate heat and sunshine 😂
Best video ever!! Grim seems so happy on an adventure. Dogs are truly our closest companions on this planet we call our home. Great friends, remote places and a wonderful dog. Life is good!
Grim absolutely loves cabin trips! Being able to run around all free and explore. And hanging out with his crew 😍
Been following your adventures for 2 years now but have to say I think this might just be your best video!!! Absolutely loved it… the sense of adventure, the beauty, the chilled vibe, the comedy! Thanks so much for sharing your lives with us
Wow, thank you so so much 😍🙏
Who is Linn?
I appreciate Christoffer's commitment to dental hygiene even while on a camping trip and I appreciate everyone's commitment to proper winter cabin fashion with those plaid PJs.
I was totally baffled at how good your videography is getting. These shots with the drone WHILST YOU ALL WERE DRIVING... that was something else that is exceeding many professional productions with a whole a** team to produce!
And the Scene where you snuggled, Christoffer "responded in the usual "each word costs extra", you replied "Good talk" and then Lynn snuggled up, too and Christoffer was kinda "Halp!" was hilarious, I now know how ice tea in your nose feels like... *Rofl*
Awww thank youuu! Haha I had to hold the drone controller, glove free, in one hand, upside down (!) to fly it while driving to get the snowmobile shots 🤣 Glad you liked them 😍🌞
Lolol costs extra.😂💓❄️🐶
Thanks getting her to explain…I had the same thoughts of droning and driving at the same time. I wondered if there was a programmable drone.
I love how Cecilia normalizes carrying a shotgun to the loo and existing in sub zero temperatures!
It’s awesome!
My Sunday hasn't officially started till I've seen what you guys have been up to. Thank you, as always, for sharing!!
Hope you enjoy it! 😍
Mine too!
The Aurora footage was so beautiful!
I have just become so addicted to Cecilia's content. It is so soothing, and beautiful and authentic, and edited wonderfully.
Thank you soo so much! 🫶🫶🫶🫶
Agreed. There's so much crazy out there, I've taken to rewatching her videos for some much needed respite from reality.
I don't think you know how much we love you. You're an mazing person and you put out the most beautiful content. Just watching the northern lights with the music right now I'm crying. And then I'm cracking up at what Christoffer said 🤣🤣
Awww thank you 😭 I really appreciate it 🧡
Thank you for another lovely video! I always look forward to your videos every Sunday and of course your coffee chats on Patreon! It was good to see Linn again! And congratulations to Einar and Olivia on their new bundle of joy! So happy for them!💕 Thank you for always sharing your Svalbard life with us and it’s definitely a plus to always see Grim! Give him a a big hug for me! 💕💕🐶
Thank you so so much 😃😍 Grim gives a big furry hug back 🥰🧡
“Honey, where’s the rifle? I have to pee.” Were it not for the cat ban, Svalbard would be this Cat Lady’s dream home.
Everytime Cecilia makes a guess about the temperature she's always like ''ohh it feels much warmer than yesterday''
And on the weather's app it's like '' Stay indoors! -95 degrees celsius recorded. Do NOT go outside!'' As Cecilia takes her daily walk with Grim!😆
And in her pyjamas! 😄😂❤"oh, it's freezing outside, let go for a walk in my pyjamas and slippers! " 🥰
😂
You needn't have worried about the content of this vlog, it was utterly outstanding 👏. Like others have pointed out Christoffer's sense of humour is hilarious 😂 😃 xx
Aww thank you! After 12hours of editing I finally got it together and I love it! 😍 So glad you did too 😊😊
@@CeciliaBlomdahl 😘😘 xx
Grimm is the happiest dog on the planet. Running free and happy. What an adventure you three had. Thanks for sharing.
I love it when you do the long scenes with the relaxing music and the beautiful scenery. I feel more relaxed after watching your videos.
Christoffer cuddling is the best part along with the aurora! ❤
Your entire vlog is beautiful Cecilia!
You know when a vlog is phenomenal and you don’t want it to end 32:10 , well that’s exactly how this feels. You’ve made me smile and just such a mood booster, truly good for helping with anxiety. Thank you… xoxo
I have to give this channel a lot of credit. I often think, how can they make living in darkness for months in a small, snow covered house interesting week after week. But, they do. I keep watching and liking because it's still very interesting and entertaining.
Cecilia, your joy of life is unmatched - it is sooo wonderful and how you appreciate and respect the fantastic nature is beautiful. Thank you for another wonderful video. All the best to you and your family.
I was lucky enough to get to spend roughly 3 months snowmobiling on the Greenland Ice sheet over two years. Watching your remote trip brings back many memories for me. I long to go back. The silence and isolation are one thing that is hard to portray I found. It's the times when there is nothing but the katabatic winds sliding across the surface. Nowhere can that be experienced but in the Arctic....so jealous of your lifestyle. I long to come back.
Loved this whole video, what a life, what a dream, lovely that you all have these experiences and together with your best friend Linn.. The up close footage of the ice floating on the sea was so cool and somehow terrifying too... I think an experience like that would carry me for days after, so much beauty and joy. I'd never want to leave this solitude, this stillness, this magnificent beauty, this peace..
-25 in southern Quebec today. Your video made me appreciate the sunshine and the cold in a different way. I've been able to accept the difficult climate that I live in seeing your joy in living in yours.❤
What a life you live! Such adventures! Thank you for sharing, especially the Northern Lights and amazing dark sky filled with stars! So much brighter than most of us can see! 💫
This is beautiful to watch. Seems like you're keen on showing every single aspect that you feel is important to let audiences know more about in detail. God bless you always.
One of the most beautiful aspects of life shown especially in these cabin visits is the close friendships you have they are priceless
Loved that you used the Arizona garden song. Arizona is where we live, and the complete antithesis of where you are. It gets up to 50 celsius, or 122F here.
back in 1990 my grandparents visited Spitsbergen for holiday. They went during summer season in a boatcruise and when they came back they told me that the sun never goes down and you have 24 hours sunlight. Little me ( i was 10 years old) could not believe that such a place exists. They fell in love with this place and visited also during winter season. Now i finally understand why they loved this place so much.
Those last few shots with the drone of the snowmobiles are stunning! To quote Cecilia, “it’s absolutely beautiful!”
Linn is so lovely, I really like her perspective on being called Grim, so sweet. You two have an amazing friendship, it's a joy to watch you play. The drone shots of you driving home are stunning, looks like another planet, so beautiful and heaven-like. x
Omg idk if I've ever seen anything more beautiful. First snow and ice and nature everywhere the eye can see and then the northern lights? Thank you for taking us along to places some of us can only dream of visiting
I found your videos about 6 months ago and they really came into my life at the right time. I’ve been very stressed with graduate school these last 3 years and your videos have been such a calming, joyous, and peaceful treat. Seeing the northern lights in one of your videos actually made me weep once lol. I hope you know how much light and peace you bring into people’s lives!! Keep it up! Much love from San Diego, California ❤
I always find myself in awe of this place. Thank you for continuing to share
Dear Cecilia! I'm Florencia living in Málaga, Spain. But I'm from Argentina, so I can say that you've a fan that's from the other side of the planet literally haha.
Your videos are such an inspiration, the way you edited them, but also the music you use. I love to watch your creations.
Thanks for sharing this with all of us, our planet it's amaizing, and you're the greatest storyteller!
Cheers! Flor.
the deep cold you endure, the small things in your life you include like taking toilet paper and a shotgun with you, dealing with your overly talkative boyfriend . .. yet your videos are GOLD because you bring your joyful experience of nature, of life, of beauty and of friends. Thank You for sharing your joy.
Awesome video! Beautiful northern lights with the stars ✨ Loved seeing Lynn with you and the two of you having fun sledding down the big hill! I love seeing Grim, especially as he sits majestically in nature with his beautiful thick coat❤️ Thank you for sharing your life with us! You are one of my very favorite channels😊 Much love from Rochester, New York in the USA 🇺🇸
All the way around a fantastic video Cecilia! its calming, funny, interesting, and I enjoyed every moment "being" with you guys :)
Thank you so much! 🥰🧡
I love how you embrace everything about winter. I live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. We just went though a (thankfully short) cold snap. One day was -40C with the wind chill. I'm trying to embrace winter since watching you. But, it's really hard when it's that cold!!
Lol no way you're born Canadian then. Jeez used to play on outdoor rinks as a kid that kind of weather. Lol lived in Edmonton. Its not so bad cold rise but those snowfalls suck. I'm from Regina but lived there among other places like Inuvik and Campbell Bay way up north.
Born a true Albertan.
One of the things I really love about your videos is that you never seem to tire of the natural wonders of the world and the environment you're privileged enough to call home
I was literally waiting for the video....your videos are always soothing and refreshing🤩💖and I am so glad you are ok in such cold weathers
🤗
Never stop making these vids, puts me in such a calm, cozy mode ❤️
Omigosh That drone footage of the snowmobile lights at the end…magnificent! Congratulations to your friends! 🎉
You guys are living the life. What fun!! Thanks for sharing this adventure with us. I loved when you talked about calling Linn Grim. How sweet!
That backlit shot of Grimm with the sunset behind him...WOW!! So good
When you guys decided to sled down the hill your laughs transformed you into kids ! It looked so fun ! 😊 😂. You had me laughing with your laughing . Grim , what a royal boy ❤
Finnish Lapphunds are great family dogs. Friendly and smart, able to adapt to any situation.
Not me sitting in Africa next to the equator and dreaming myself away to where snow and winter rules ❄️ thank you for the mental cooling off :)
Grim is like the most photogenic dog 🤣
Oh wow, congratulations to Oliva and Einar on the arrival of Wivi. Thanks for sharing your trip and the beautiful northern lights.
Love your response to seeing the sun again for the first time! ♡♡♡♡
Cecilia, you really earn your worth here on CZcams with fascinating footage, photography and editing (especially the drone footage of the three snowmobiles - WOW). I love it all and I adore this channel with your incredibly special content you could only see on National Geographic!!
What an incredible views in this video! I really enjoyed seeing the Northern lights so real and bright as well as the far distant sun and the breaking ice. Pure joy❤ brilliant toothbrush Christoffer🎉. What a great & fun friend is Lynn (& Grimm:)). You are ever so cheerful and positive Cecilia, and real! Ps: you should really look into a coffee sponsor deal hahah. XO and hugs to you all, Alana🌟
Thanks for bringing me joy this morning! You could’ve edited that fall out or even the slow crawl out of the snow.🤣 Love laughing with you!🥰 Grim is in his element. Christoffer is so sweet to accompany you two. Enjoy!
She's so real. Doesn't mind everyone seeing her as she just crawls out of bed with morning hair. She's a peach.
Christoffer is amazing. So beautiful the northern lights....and Lynn & Grimm....or is it Grimm and Lynn? LoL
Perspective is everything, going remote helps to appreciate the comforts of home and conversely the beauty of nature
Love cabin time of the year. Enjoy seeing the different cabins, and the Aurora is magical!
For a cold place year round y'all the warmest folks I know.
Thank you for sharing your wonderful life.
IMO, Cristofer is the strong silent type man of mystery. So we're all trying to get a good read on him! Whereas, Cecilia is so animated and expressive, and energetic we're also curious about how they click together. At any rate...
I love this channel. I look forward to her December content every single year, even if it's about the same each year. It's just so cozy feeling imagining them snuggled in the Polar Night season. We all can't live like this, so thanks guys for letting us live vicariously ❤❤❤❤❤
Every Sunday this is what I am waiting for 😍😍 those northern lights with the stars gave me so much FOMO. I want to go see Svalbard so bad!
Oh, I absolutely loved the video! I especially enjoyed seeing Grim so happy! And congrats to your friend Olivia on the birth of her baby girl!❤️❤️
✨THIS BY FAR YOU GUYS, IS MY FAVORITE VIDEO OF YOUR CHANNEL! THOSE POLAR LIGHTS AND CHRISTOPHER POKING FUN AT BEING IN THE CABIN WITH TWO GIRLS LOL AWESOME! ✨
Thank you for this, Cecilia. How wonderful to be taken with you on this glorious trip. Really loved the music too. Awesome. 🌺❣️🌺❣️
So nice to see Lynn back - she looks wonderful! Congratulations to the new Mummy & Daddy! I've been waiting for this announcement!
i love "cecilia, who lives on svalbard, an island close to the north pole" sundays
🧡
Sliding down that hill....like being a kid again....just looked amazing!!!
Best video ever!! Grim seems so happy on an adventure.
Inspired by your videos, I've started learning Norwegian on Duolingo in anticipation of visiting Svalbard in 3-4 years. I know I could get by with English, but I would love to bust out Norwegian in the café or grocery store :)
Don't drone and drive! 🤣🤣🤣 You all seemed so much happier, especially Christoffer! Usually he looks contempt, but he looked sooo happy! You guys are all so adorable. And congratulations to Olivia and Einar! Such a cute little beebee!
What a great vlog!
The sunset and sunrise on the fiord, the islands dotting the coast, the northern lights dancing and the stars so clear - all of it was mesmerizing. I love when you go on your mini expeditions. You show us a different view of your lovely snow island.
We are so lucky that you and Christoffer share your lives with us, Cecilia. Thank you!!
Your life perspective and appreciation for the here and now is contagious! Thank you for sharing and always being like a beacon of light, even without the sun! 🙏🏽🌞😎
Was that Cristoffer yelling at 34:23? Grim heard him, but you didn't seem to? Also, what an incredibly beautiful place you chose to visit! Thank you for taking us on your adventures! :)
It's so strange because I didn't here anything back then, I heard it after editing and I still dont know! haha Christoffer can't remember either haha. Thank you for watching! 😍
I find myself worried about that shout out too!
These videos brighten my day! I hope to visit Svalbard one day and see the beauty for myself
Perfect Sunday morning...watching you in your pajamas enjoying the sun on the arctic circle. Perspective is everything!
Beautiful landscape and blog. Grim is such an adorable pup. ❤. Not sure I could weather such cold weather but the scenery is spectacular! Thank you for sharing your time with us!
I've spent most of my life in warm places, including several years in the tropics. We have a small home in Mexico now to escape the NE US winters. I love your videos. That climate is so foreign to me, I watch with a combination of fascination and a little bit of horror. I sure would like to see the Northern lights though. Thanks for sharing!
Okay, so Cristoffer's what I'm calling the Pajama Party Comment is now in contention for my favorite Svalbard moment in competition with Cecilia's Drunk Christmas Bake-Off... Also, love me some Lynn (Linn? Lin? Can't spell it, but 💕 her!) Great video! 🥳🥞🛷🏔☀
Hahahah!
Thanks for your work! Such a great idea to take a moment and just let the sound of the ice speak for itself, and see how the ocean calmly moves. Very nice.
Absolutly wonderful video! Your drone shots- your humor, your interaction between you three and grim. I want to kiss his face all the time. I watched this video from Bali. It's rainy season and so much humid. Love to you all:-))
Another great video. Your videography is getting better and better. 7:00 This is interesting. For me at least. That's the Orion constellation. When I lay in my hot tub in Connecticut, USA, and look almost straight up this time of year, I see it. Look how low on the horizon it is for you. Those were some great sun shots!
Maybe this has been suggested before or tried...Grim might like some goggles for the drive. I used to work at a biker bar and we had one guy who had a sidecar for his dog. Pup would wear goggles to keep the wind, weather and debris out of his eyes. Hope he gets his new chariot soon 💜🤗🛷🐶
We have ordered him a pair 😃
Beautiful! And Congratulations to Olivia and Einar on their sweet little bundle of joy!
Cecilia, your personality is so uplifting and helps me get through hard times. Thank you for sharing a piece of you with us.
Cecilia, this vlog has the best of everything in it!
The initial sunset was stunningly gorgeous, almost other worldly. The pink was amazing!
The northern lights against the back drop of a clear night sky was really something else, I saw a tinge of pinky/red at one point. I’ve never seen it for real and this in my opinion was one of the best you’ve managed to capture!!!
Christoffer is in his element with his harem of lovely ladies 🥰 😂
I can’t imagine what -30 feels like, but I hate hot weather and feel I should have been born someone cold, I’d love the polar night!!
Do you ever feel a little bit scared out in the middle of nowhere? Everything you need you must take. Can you contact anyone in case of emergency, is there phone reception for instance although I’m sure Christoffer could protect and find some thing out there to eat!!
Great vlog! It’s 6.30am here in the U.K. and I’m unwell, can’t sleep so this is just what I needed for a wonderful distraction! 🙌🏻🙌🏻☕️🥐🥶👍🏻🥰🙅♀️🙅♀️🙅♀️
PS Hellooo lovely Groom Grim 🥰🙅♀️
I imagine the gals would be equally skilled at providing!! ☘️
Dearest Cecelia, It would be very interesting if you could record the sounds of the Arctic for relaxation, something like 30 minutes or even more 😉
I love the shots like the one of the ice moving that you add in. They really make me feel like I’m experiencing these moments through your eyes. My favorite creator ❤️
Seeing the beautiful Aurora dancing through Orion and Taurus, takes my breath away!! What a spectacular sight!! I always appreciate your videos!! Many, many thanks for sharing a slice of your beautiful life!
Thanks, Cecilia, Christopher, Linn, and Grimm, for sharing your adventure in the wilderness of Svalbard. My wife and I really appreciate those spectacular drone horizon sun shots. They are magnificent and have become wallpaper for my computer. We have become avid subscribers of your channel and cannot wait till the next one. Keep up the great work.
-30! Just another cold day here in Canada 🇨🇦 love your videos 🥳
Just wondering…what would happen if you went to a cabin and found it already occupied (not with the research people, but with visitors such as yourself)? Love your videos!
You have to apply to rent one, they are all locked 😊 There are only a few open cabins
Yes, of course I remember now that you belong to a group that has access to the cabins!! What about those research cabins? I thought maybe those were free for anyone to stop in anytime as long as they weren’t being used. Is there an online calendar you check?
Dear Cecilia. I just have to say that your videos are my happy channel. Every morning when I have my coffee, I watch your content. I love your positive energy, sweet Grim, wonderful Christoffer & all your adventures there but my favourite videos are when you do a day in your life. I have decided to live vicariously through you. I’m in Nova Scotia, Canada & the coldest windchill this winter was -45. My son went out of a walk & took a beautiful pic that night that I’d love to share. We both love photography! Keep up the awesome job of showing us beautiful Svalbard. Much love ❤
The landscape is stunning, something out of this world. Thank you for the amazing content.
One of your best vlogs... 😊 Thank you. 😘
Wow, thank you!
Christopher's dedication to oral hygiene is amazing.
I would totally stay there! I mean, why the heck not? Food, shelter, warmth, beautiful views. 😍
Now that you've mentioned the poop though, I am wondering if there are homes in the town that need to dispose of their solids in this way or if the type of toilet you have is common or do they have a sewer and water system? I live in Canada, in the country. We have well water, a septic tank and septic field, but I honestly have no clue what they do in the areas with permafrost. Even though we do get minus 40 we have been blessed in our home to not have anything freeze up. You can install an electric heat tape to outside lines to prevent freezing and many people will use hay over their septic tank in the extreme cold to help prevent freezing. Lol I feel crazy being so intrigued by poop disposal where there is permafrost now 🤔😱🤣🤣🤣
Seeing all the stars and the Northern Lights...it looks truly otherworldly. How amazing it must be to be there in person. Wow!
You videos are so comforting! They’re like a hug from a very beautiful cozy place I’d love to visit someday. You are living my dream- so I watch it vicariously through you! Great video!
Christopher and Cecilia, you are so blessed to see such beauty and adventure in your life together. Your memories will last forever💕🌬❄️🐕
