I noticed no one had uploaded the 6ish minute version of 'Invitations', So I decided to do it myself! Song: Invitations Artist: Shakatak Album: Invitations Year: 1982
If you're from Philippines and you watch ABC 5 during Sunday mornings in the 90s, this song is for sure familiar. This song was used as an opening song of the show Cooking with the Daza. This is very nostalgic
It was also the theme song of "Cooking It Up with Nora Daza," "Cooking with the Dazas," and "Cooking with Sandy Daza." They're a generation of cooking on Philippine television.
This was so sophisticated in 1982 on release. It still is sophisticated today and will time travel in its sophistication here and evermore. It energy brings back the time (1982 )to the present. Proof that it can transcend time. A+++++ Class 1 premium.
Had the song in my ear since yesterday. But I didn't know the artist or the title. I whistled it at the google music detection and BAAM, i'm here. It's so much better than Shazam.
I love this song and Shakatak. Personally, I want to walk in a department store with the scent of basil while listening to this song❗️ From high school student in Japan.
This remains one of my favourite Shakatak tunes (Maybe, my second fave after Streetwalkin'). The tune is sheer class. I especially love Bill Sharpe's switch from flute to keys. Oh, and those super cool lyrics. Like many Filipino kids in the early 90s, I also discovered this because of a cooking show (This was their theme song). So, this one is extra special to me.
Shakatak - Invitations Lyrics With a fleeting smile below the lazy eyes And the face that's not attempting to disguise It's an open invitation showing all the signs Sample my supply And her fingers touch the hand below the lace She suggests a later time, another place He accepts her invitation, "wanna spend some time?" Written on her face Her stiletto heels go clicking through his head With the glossy invitation he misread And you'd think he couldn't fail to read between the line Plays the fool instead Invitation Invitation With a fleeting smile below the lazy eyes And the face that's not attempting to disguise It's an open invitation showing all the signs Sample my supply And her fingers touch the hand below the lace She suggests a later time another place He accepts her invitation, "wanna spend some time?" Written on her face Her stiletto heels go clicking through his head With the glossy invitation he misread And you'd think he couldn't fail to read between the line Plays the fool instead Invitation Invitation
