Yelawolf is in a different league. Sorry but you can't really compare him to guys like MGK, Logic, G Eazy, and Mac miller. He is heavily experienced at what he does. He is in the ranks of Eminem. He's underrated because he has a different sound that not everyone can get into.

The media says it's because Yelawolf wanted to change a few lyrics in every track of the album, to make it look perfect. Not sure if it's true but, what we do know Love Story will be classic!

So is Em signed to SONY, no... Release dates are always speculation. Eminem can release anything anytime for any of his artists. Look at the history. Almost every time a new project/album and date release was mentioned to the public, it never came that date. It's not cause of the labels... it's about building anticipation. Dre did this with Detox... unfortunately it's been way too long and nobody cares anymore, and if it's not the best thing ever heard, which it wont be, people will be let down. Y'all get it now?
actually shady records is a subsidiary of interscope records, and interscope is under universal not sony. and yes eminem and yelawolf are both under universal. and no they cannot release an album whenever they want, they have to get the labels approval (i mean interscope or UMG's approval). they usually release albums with many marketing strategies thinking through what other big artist just released something, so they won't lose sales and exposure. (I study music business, it's all there).
That order of hierarchy is for small time artists or newly signed acts. This is Eminem were talking about... The parent labels have nothing to do with any of the marketing or releasing for him, he has an entirely different team. UMG and Interscope cater to him. Jimmy Iovine even says it all the time.
it applies to everybody, the marketing schemes especially even with Michael jackson they always made sure his albums were released at the right time with no other "competitors" around, even at that level as you said. eminem is just another money making puppet to them, they just squeeze him as much as they can. and jimmy iovine is probably one of the biggest liars of the industry, but since he built an "empire" out of it no one can "touch" him and people even worship him. but what's the point of arguing about it the whole industry is rotten anyway. have a good day, Peace.
