I love this tattoo! its very well done. I dont see this is as “dark skin”, their skin is a medium color. (just a tip for next time). The tattoo suits him perfectly though! :)

Medium color is not an accurate metric because anyone can have a different approach of what means medium. Unfortunately in the tattoo is really important especially for the color work the canvas to be as light as possible so you can achieve the brightness of the colors. Otherwise you must play with more Values, less details and more contrast so you can have the best healed results as possible as Lena did on this project. For me and for the most of the artists that must take as consideration the color skin so they can arrange their color palette accordingly.
Is a dark skin.
Now of course the dark skin has a lot of variations.
But this doesn't change the fact that is a dark skin.

Unfortunately we don't remember to tell you because is a project that Lena Diamanti did almost a year ago.
But for sure was way more than 16 hours and less than 22.
The truth is somewhere in the middle. 🙂

I was wondering why a lot of tattoo artists tattoo from bottom to top. Is there a a reason most don't start at the top and work their way down?
Yes it is!
Is because if you start from the top to the bottom the stencil and especially for big projects like two days in a row or more, will not hold caused from the continuous cleaning process.

Based on the description box this tattoo took 2 days. Artist prices are normally per day or per hour, their preference, and can vary quite a bit, but knowing it will take at least two full day sessions (some artists consider 6 hours a full day, others consider a 10+ hour day a full day) should help you gauge pricing for a piece like this with your local artist. Hope that helps!

If you take 2 persons with the most pale skin in the world and create a matching couple color tattoo, for example. If the second person has slightly darker skin than the previous one, all the color palettes that the artist uses must change to their skin tone accordingly.
Meaning the medium tones of red must change on a lighter etc...
Otherwise, the results would be different!
