    Some people are so dumb that they don't deserve even a rock... Poor saw. I have MS311 which is exactly the same, except a bit smaller piston and cylinder. Very happy with performance.

    Was that filter damaged or did it have a bad seal?

      Filter did not appear to be damaged and the seal was fine.
      The dirt appeared almost like a fine powder or baby powder. Very very fine. I think it was smaller than the micron rating of the air filter and just penetrated the filters fleece.
      Very strange.
      I've seen this happen with a Briggs and Stratton before on a mower. First time I've seen it on a chainsaw.
      Not sure of the conditions the saw used in.

      Could this be because the chain is not sharp or not taking a big enough chip?

      No clin air filter ,clin cheinsaw ,fresh 2t oil no problem
