- Here is a full build compilation of the Fujimi McLaren MP4/6 1/20 scale model kit as driven by Ayrton Senna in the 1991 San Marino GP. If you'd like to watch the longer videos:
Part 1 is here: • Building Senna's MP4/6...
Part 2 is here: • Building Senna's MP4/6...
Part 3 is here: • Building Senna's MP4/6...
A few things to note:
1.) This Fujimi kit is known for having a bad fit. I had sanded the inside of the engine cover to create space, but neglected the monocoque which should have also been sanded to allow room for the added wiring. The end result is the cover did not close completely so I decided to display the car with the cowl off.
2.) The front suspension sits quite high and requires modification to lower the car to a normal ride height. I have detailed the steps in a recent post.
3.) My camera had trouble picking up the true appearance of the fluorescent red. It's a bit darker and more red in person, however it looks brighter and more orange in the video.
4.) I recently got a new fan for my spray booth which is 20dB quieter and will no longer have that loud drone during painting clips.

Ayrton was dedicated to his craft as you are to yours. Thank you for honouring him this way.
Yup he sure was. Very nice comment
Great comment this :)
You can almost picture Ayrton sitting there watching, transfixed and focussed.
I'm sure he would've loved and appreciated such commitment and craftsmanship, especially seeing his own car take form like this.
Sure :)
Linda demais sua frase.
Ayrton also loved models, but more specially RC aircraft.
He is a man of focus, commitment, and sheer f*cking will
Baba yaga
@@bermuda3647 I doubt that with how good he is with his hands 😂
A FUCKING PENCIL
Some call him the boogeyman
The guy named “and sheer”: 😏
The guy named will:😐
Ron Dennis would love this precision. Outstanding job.
That is the best comment I have ever read. GG!
Ooh, that's a good compliment. And I think you're right.
I was like ooh cool maybe I could build this as well then he pulled out the paint gun
Hahaha I said the same thing to myself
And it only gets worse from there
Me too
Painting it and applaying clear coat with airbrush was the easiest operation he did there tho.
@@drzoidberg19855 exactly it just kept getting harder
No music, no pointless jibber jabber, just the best modelling skills ever on display. Fantastic video sir.
Spot on comment! I can't stand those guys that talk and talk and talk..." A picture is worth a thousand words, and a good video is even better"!
Absolutely! The editing is spot on! So many steps condensed into less than a half hour! FINALLY, someone who can build incredible models AND create an excellent presentation! 🏆
Stunning. I Nearly died when you built the seatbelts.
A moment of pure joy, absolutely.
@@iamjuanpablo I always marvelled at talented model makers’ work back when I used to build them. To be able to see the process in action: *chefs kiss*
Fantastic job
When ever I see you do this and then go back to my current model I'm working on I feel like a chimp with a paint brush
Me too! I'm vowing to do better from now on!
@@bsmith1164 seconded
Each person must do what they can with what they have. I would paint it with a brush too... if I had one of those models.
Well technically you ARE are a chimp with a brush
@@simonsays3391 true that
I think it’s easier to build the real F1 over this. Excellent work.
I was thinking much the same thing.
Then you are wrong
@@rezhaadriantanuharja3389 And you missed the sarcasm.
@@rezhaadriantanuharja3389 r/woooosh. Like how dum do you really have to be to miss that joke?
@@NDull. why can’t I be captain obvious haha
This thing looks soo realistic that I was actually expecting it to start up hahah
As brazilian, it makes me so proud. I mean, Senna is one the most memorable people for us and I feel so good when he has a huge recognize and respect out of here.
O cars era foda
He was so great both as a man as well as a race driver, I'm a Ferrari's fan since I was a child but for me he was one of the best if not the best of all time with Fangio, Ascari, Hailwood, and that's something that only a true Champion can do, to be loved and appreciated by those who supported different teams.
I get it now. F1 cars are made by giants.
Mabye
I died when he pulled out the toggle switches
Why tho? Is it bc it was so much attention t detail that u died?
This is pure ASMR for the eyes.
The engine cover not fitting perfectly is a sacrifice that's more than worth it for all the amazing true to life detail you've added. This build really raises the bar, well done.
I'd never display it with the cover on.
this is, no joke the best youtube video I have ever watched. Thank you for creating this experience, definitely subscribing!
One of the most satisfying things I've ever watched. Amazing.
Nice job, bro! Senna forever.
Prost was better though
@@ddg7889 prost out scored senna in every season they were teammates.
Could you guys stop debating.... Your guys know both of them is legend.... In this case no one is better.
@@user-gu1hl2kx2k Respect Ayrton Senna man, he won a race with just the 6° gear!
@@hypeguy2846 Prost won a championship with his team and engine supplier working against him, respect that.
Masterful work! Very inspiring. Your attention to your videography is perfect. Its difficult to model build and think about taking video at the same time.
The Model Car Channel Thanks! it gets easier the more you do it, but there are times I wish I could just put away the camera and work without having to film anything
I applaud you for going all out on this, ayrton senna was a legend and you nailed the details good job mate.
Just found your channel and it takes me back about 18 years to when I last built a scale model kit. It's so nice watching you work through all of this and I may have to go pick up a kit to give me something to build other than all the war gaming/roleplaying minis that I work on these days.
I’ve watched this build in pieces. It’s cool to see it all the way through
Been waiting a long time for this. I am inspired to tackle my Tamiya 1/12 Williams FW14B. Fantastic work!
I think this is the first time I watched a whole video of 25 minutes without skipping any part. You sir are a true artist. Thanks for sharing this.
So detailed. High skills you demonstrated with this build. Thank you for sharing. Love it!
Unbelievable detail work. Stunning results. Love it.
Some cars make the drivers famous, others make the cars famous. Senna made his cars legendary.
Wow, seriously good building skills and the attention to detail that most of us wud let slip. Great model for a great driver
The moment he started adding the body rivets is when this guy turned Ultra Instinct on. So damn cool.
Amazing build! Such detail. You’ve inspired me to get going with mine again. Thanks for sharing
This build is INCREDIBLE!
You are the Phenomenon of what you do with hundreds of models, you put them into reality. It can't even be described that your work, I'm just quietly watching you adjust the models to small details.😍😮
This is awesome. I've been doing this for over 40yrs....nice work!!!
i’ve never put this much effort into anything in my life
Absolutely great work. Your detailing on your models is amazing. I loved your work on the Leyton House Porsche because this car is so beautiful and rare but this build is my absolute favourite build I ever seen. Waiting for the next to come👍👍
This is model building on a whole new level! I'm floored all the tiniest details you added.
That’s unbelievable, all the details, dude, you’re something else!
You’ve done Ayrton Senna and Ron Dennis proud, great job mate. 👍🏽
Ayrton Senna do Brasil 🇧🇷🇧🇷
Melhor piloto de todos!!
The best pilot ever, Ayrton Senna a true Legend! Cheers from Belgium!
Just blown away by this build. You sure do have decaling down to an ART! Another masterpiece!
This build was not only honoring a great driver , it was a honor and a pleasure to watch the build.. Fantastic , the attention to every detail was incredible. The level of this build is nothing but true talent and skills on your part.. Museum quality with out question. 🥀👍
Nossa, simplesmente demais. Adoro miniaturas,e essa da fórmula 1,do eterno Senna, show. Parabéns.
é notório o carinho que ele coloca ao trabalhar nessa miniatura, incrível.
Well done Mr. Zig, you do an excellent job with your content, editing and overall details. Keep up the great work!
I could watch videos like that for hours. Always beautiful! :)
Thank you, Great build, perfect details of products used and techniques shown. Perfect length with no irritating talk or music. Will be revisiting when building my FW14b
Judging from the detail of the maker, that “:(“ at the end is the understatement of the century
A piece of art.
Hope to see the MP4/8 to.
Nowhere on gods green earth have I seen anyone with this level of almost impossible commitment, skill, patience and focus on a model to the point where each and every little fake screw and wire matters, hats off to you!
this is such an incredible amount of work work. this must have been taking weeks or month to make. And the amount of details ist just insane. I have the highest respect for this person. These kind of videos deserve way more attention every single regular music or vlog video
As an F1 fan, this is super satisfying!
Outstanding! McLaren should buy this model and show it in their museum with a nameplate of you.
Hands down one of the most satisfying videos I've ever watched
Wow simply wasn't expecting that sort of level of detail! Amazing!
Well done! Your painting skills are mind blowing how good you can paint with precision
Absolutely sunning, Chris. If I can make my Tamiya MP4/4 even half as good as this, I will be pleased.
This is so satisfying to watch! Thank you.
Amazing attention to detail, unbelievable. Senna and Ron would be proud👍🏻
Brother, U're a pure artist with golden hands! 🔥
Cheers! 🤙
I have to tell you, Ziggy. I held my breath for the duration of the cockpit detail section. An absolutely stunning video which showcases your skills. Fascinating, captivating and utterly absorbing to watch. Thanks for sharing and when you open a workshop to let in fans to see you crafting in real time, please let me know the time and place and I'll be first in line. This was a real delight to watch, ten out of ten.
ABSOLUTELY awesome job , great detail
Absolutely outstanding job ! I didn't imagine it was possible to put so much detail and accuracy in a model kit. I realized I was just gluing plastic parts together.....
Looking forward your next video
Fantastic job ! I have this model in my stash but I want to improve my skills first before trying. This is a very special car for me: this is the MP4-6 from Brazil’s 91 GP, maybe the most epic Senna victory and his first in Brazil. I was 14 years old and I was at the race track that day - the only F1 race I watched live !
Great story! To have seen Senna racing is a rare privilege. I completely understand why you’d want to improve your skills before you attempt to build this kit. I feel the same about my two Tamiya 1/12 F1 kits, the Williams FW14B and the JPS Lotus 78. The details Ziggy adds are brilliant and way past my skill level. However, a straight build using only what’s in the box is still an impressive feat. Watching Ziggy’s videos are very inspiring. To me, painting is the most difficult skill to master.
At 14:43 minutes we see "Senna's Bane" being installed, may he forever RIP.
From that steering wheel linkage, to the scale bodypanel screws, I've never seen as detailed & skills at model building as are demonstrated within this video.
OP even got the freaking wooden shifter - which Senna preferred to leather wrapped - handle color / wood grain correct.
Very impressive scale model of one of the last real Formula 1 racecars prior to computer assisted era .
So much detail! Amazing work...!
this is absolutely insane ! Astonishing job dude
Incrível simplesmente maravilhoso, essa miniatura do Senna ficou D+ um shoow 😎 👏 👏 👏
Beautiful job, the Top Studio detail products are great, I've used them before myself.
This is so absurdly good, a Senna worthy effort!!
Dude, the level of detail in this build is crazy! Awesome job!
WOW, great job on the F1
Ayrton gigante....Honra mérito e gloria ao melhor do tempo em que tudo se transformou.
Wow! Pure detail extravaganza! And a commitment to patience, and controlled application of micro-fasteners and fittings. Just top-notch work all the way. Incredibly well done. I've learned a few things, thank you very much,
God bless.
Fantastic Job! Gorgeous! I love all the Details and that fantastic finishing! It's a bummer!

This was incredibly satisfying to watch.
I'm speachless, this is so amazing!
I need this guy to put my lego stickers on😄 Incredible work!
masterpiece! as Senna`s driving
Superb build! Brought back memories of A.Senna 👍
An additional remark.. omg!!!!!!! You are the master.
Damn! Ziggy's Desk back with another one for the streets!
My heart and my eyes is saying "thank you"
It was a privilege to watch you master Sennas machine. I held my breath when you did to cockpit toggle switches. Both thumbs up!!
That was amazing! I enjoyed that very much.

The amount of detail going into this build is insane! Fantastic work. I really admire your skill and your steady hands.
Simply breathtaking, my best compliments.
Years ago (in the 90's) I built the Tamiya version of this car. Obviously not to this standard, but I'm proud if what I did back then. Seeing this video makes me want to do it all over, using the techniques I see in this video and using the detail kits available now.
I'm wondering what are the differences between the Fujimi and the Tamiya kit? Is there a 'better' kit between the two?
Ok, now put it in an explosive resistant clear box so that it can’t be damaged
I’m in awe. This is by far the best F1 scale build I’ve ever seen.
Very beautiful!! Watching you at work is awesome and captivating! Can’t wait to see more of your amazing content!!
"PASSOU RETO MANSELL!!"

This is like, another level of precision. Amazing work!
Wow!!! Everything about this video is pure win..not only the modeling the attention to every detail is fantastic..but the camera work is just as impressive!! Thanks alot for this
I wouldn't be able to do this since I keep shaking as if I have Parkinson's whenever I _slowly_ move my hand
Everything about this video was awesome. Not only the work, but care in the videography too. Kudos.
I’m in shock. The craftsmanship, the attention to detail, the patience. Congratulations for building such a historic car in such a majestic way.
Fantastic work! I'm floored. Right down to the rivets.
