Looks like if someone tried to draw the Silvia S15, did the headlights, but forgot what the rest of it looked like

I don't know what they are thinking with this. If Tamiya designed a 306 rear ended by a Renault 19, this is what you'd have. They tried the same thing with formula T cars about 20 years ago & that totally died off. Just too expensive from the outset and a very small market to sell it on to. JSCC with the saxos or something using the BMW minis would be a far better choice as a junior BTCC support series.

I do have to say that the NGTC cars have actually been very successful with years of large grids and a variety of manufacturers. It has only been since the hybrids have been introduced that grids have dropped along with the manufacturers which is a shame and seen a lot of top drivers have to leave too. The cars are fantastic i think and I like the mix (or what used to be) of fwd and rwd cars and how they balanced out.
As for the toca cars, they are RIDICULOUSLY expensive and i think will flop as a result. why race for £90k as a 14-17 year old when a ginetta junior car (also 14-17) is about £40k can be raced in other series and has a sequential gearbox. Yes you wont get itv live tv coverage with btcc but it is literally less than half the cost. and i imagine entry fees will be extortionate too just because they can.

Oh for the days of Super Touring, and/or DTM with those glorious tech rich beasts......(and silly costs/ budgets).
Current Touring cars aren't particularly exciting......

This is something that the French would normally come up with. WTF.

Awful, lumpy looking, costly, over-engineered, plastic Renault 19, full of what looks to be a load of MX5 running gear. A gen 4 MX5 Cup car costs about 50 grand. This will cost upwards of 78 grand. A gen 4 MX5 Cup car has compatibility globally. A 78 grand restomod attempting to recapture a bit of the glory days, whilst attracting absolutely nothing to the series in terms of manufacturer involvement (unless Chevron make a 4 door saloon that I'm unaware of), funnily enough has compatibility with sweet sod all. Whilst I'm aware that the gen 4 MX5 is hardly a saloon car, it is at least A CAR, and what a shame it'll be if this kills off the JSCC, which also is a junior series for tin tops that uses AN ACTUAL CAR, albeit one that's getting on a bit itself now. BTCC once again assuming that it's far bigger than it actually is. You can't ride on the hype of the late 90's forever
