    We have been having tremendous fun efoiling on the lake. The memories are precious.
    These machines are huge people magnets; when we’re done, there are always people who approach us to take photos of the foils and ask us questions. The Lift eFoil advertises itself.
    Thank you for these tips.

      How does it deal with seaweed?? I would be a primarily lake rider if i got one.

    One correction on physics. Initiating a turn does NOT reduce the wing surface area. What does happen during a turn is you are generating centrifugal force which increases the down force (perceived weight of the rider). This force must be overcome by more lift, therefore more throttle.

    Has anyone tried laying down horizontally on the board while on the foil? I would think that would be pretty cool and feel like your flying!

    • @mrjekarpa
      @mrjekarpa Před 11 měsíci

      You need to be able to shift your weight forward and backward to adjust your flight height - this is not possible when you lay flat on the board.

    Once you are on a wave can you release the throttle and ride the wave or does the resistance of the motor require constant throttle?

    • @PeterCacioppi

      Thats a great question, same thought I had.

      I'd guess the propeller can spin freely if the motor is turned off, or if the wave is pushing you faster then the motor setting. Most electric fans will spin if you sit them out in a breeze, for example. This would be easy to determine if you any of the eFoil owners are here (there's not too many of them, but they exist).

      they use a folding prop for surfing. no prop guard too. reduces drag. it takes about 2 minutes to change it out. watched nick in some big surf ripping turns and then motoring out the back to get another one. respect.@@PeterCacioppi

      I agree. I would buy but I can get a wave runner for the same price and put someone on the back. Try not to smile when on a wave runner!!

    I'm buying one the second you get the price point down to 3k or so. I went on the site to impulse buy one but it's nearly the price of a Sea-Doo?? Also would be cool if you sell add-on batteries so I can swap a dead one out for a fully charged one at the beach for a full day of fun :)

    • @PeterCacioppi
      @PeterCacioppi Před 5 lety

      Pretty sure they do sell the replacement batteries.

    • @jamesdeininger3759
      @jamesdeininger3759 Před 5 lety +2

      They sell replacement batteries for $3k each. If you want a jet ski, then buy a jet ski. This is bleeding edge tech. If the cost is prohibitive, then I promise it’s not for you. Don’t buy a boat or a plane either - You’ll spend $5k-$10k/yr on oil changes and regular maintenance.

    I'm really curious how dangerous seaweed is for Efoiling. Most of the lakes near me have patches of seeweed here and there. I live far from the ocean.

    • @mikeb1039
      @mikeb1039 Před 5 měsíci

      I've ridden in some lake weeded places and if it's really thick it will get in the prop and slow the board way down. You have to flip the board over and clear it. In not so thick places the wing/mast at any speed just cuts threw them.

    why doing the same error than at the bigining of aeronautic... using an négative portance on one off the both wings... juste put the small one forward with positive portance and large one behind with positive one also !!!?? should be easier to do it fly..(sorry for my pour english 'i'm french) Don't say thank you, juste send me one when you will win money with that patent=))

      Aeronautical Dynamics a d hydrodynamics are not the same. Also for your theory to work the speed would have to be much greater for control and sttability. The efoil does not need to go so fast.
