As a Nigerian and Arsenal fan, I was extremely nervous when Saka stepped up to take the 3rd Penalty. Thank goodness, he converted it.
Saka is a complete human being, which is a rare thing amongst footballers who earn big money. He is down to earth. Long may it continue for Saka and Arsenal.

Lots of the English players aren't actually from England.. Rice for example is from Ireland and actually played for the national team before switching to play for England.

@@michaelboiteau9890 Agree 100% but if a player wants to go, you are always better off selling them..Sport is a very odd workplace. There are so many factors which can affect performance beyond ability. Externals like, where your relatives live, your girlfriend's happiness and so on dictate much of the player's decision rather than just football and team-mates. Most pro-footballers are in the process of growing up when they become stars. It is difficult to explain to a young man that there is anything more important than who they are seeing at that moment. Saka is such an absolute joy to watch. England don't use him as well as they could be IMHO. To be at his best, Saka needs to touch the ball often and get two -three attempts in a row to beat his defenders. Last night he was beating their left back every time, but the midfield would most often pass the ball to the the right. But quality comes through. What a goal! What a player! What a man!

Hi Charles, many thanks for your excellent show with great analysis and insights. What a player Saka is - a role model for the youngsters, in particular. His equaliser for England, is likened to an Arsenal play. Rice takes the ball on the right and passes it to Saka, and then runs further to distract the Swiss defence, providing Saka with some space. Saka takes the ball and scores a wonderful goal - he celebrates and runs to the sideline and hugs Ramsdale. So proud of the two best England players of the match - Saka and Rice.

Hey Charles. Due to many transfer rumors going around at the moment i think we've forgotten about one player who could make some pure profit(besides Nketiah,Nelson and ESR). Norton Cuffy has now spent 2 seasons in a row in the EFL and i think he could be sold to another EFL club or a PL club that has just been promoted maybe a bit more fee we received from Biereth. I might be wrong but he doesn't have long in his contract so it might be the time to cash him on. Personally he was one of the most consistent youth who performed out there on loan.
+)How do you see the possibility of Nwaneri and Skelly promoted to the first team next season? If Arsenal fails to sign anyone in the No.8 position i think Arteta should at least give both of them a go to show them there's a pathway in the first team. Not every game but like the Carabao cup or the Fa cup.

the partnership of gabriel and saliba for the first two season brought us to 2nd place finish. the partnership of gabriel-white in 2021-2022 season brought us to fifth place finish from a mediocre 8th place in 2020-2021 season. we could have won the league last season if, you guess it, partway for most of the season is healthy. could have finish in the top four if he's healthy in 2021-2022 season. so having state this facts, no defenders should leave the club. if calafiori deal is official, then timber, gabriel, saliba, white, calafiori, zinchenko, kiwior, tomiyasu should be our defenders. all of them are versatile player. but i want zinny to substitute more on the midfield than the left back, though if needed, thats the only situation he should play at left back.

So happy (and relieved) for Bukayo on the penalty kick. I went back and looked at his miss from the 2021 Euro against Italy because I seemed to remember both that kick and yesterday's going toward the same side of goal. They did but yesterday's was perfectly placed in the corner with decent pace whereas 2021's was harder hit, more toward the middle, and the goalkeeper guessed right in 2021. I don't think Donnarumma's 2021 reaction would have saved yesterday's kick. Such nervewrackingly fine margins! And what a great goal during regular time to tie it up. Not sure if you watched the Copa and Brazil against Uruguay. No Vinnie Jr. but the Brazilian manager played everyone except Martinelli until just the very end. I’m curious if your nerves were worse than the Porto shootout, I don’t remember being more on edge than that game and I definitely felt some of that when Saka stepped up. But he’s cool as you’d like I’m so happy he’s getting his rightful praise. Player ratings round up for last night. Total of Guardian, Goal, Independent, Evening Standard, Sky, Talksport.
I bet Trippier and Kane both start the next game and play most of it before being subbed off, despite being our worst two starting players. Foden not doing enough either.
    Saka 53
    Pickford 44
    Konsa 43
    Mainoo 42
    Rice 42
    Palmer (sub) 42
    Bellingham 41
    Shaw (sub) 40
    Eze (sub) 39
    Stones 36
    Walker 34
    Foden 34
    Trippier 32
Toney (sub) 32 (no Talksport rating)
Alexander-Arnold (sub) 28 (no Goal or Talksport rating)

@@burlhorse61 why would we not start winning? This is a negative contribution to our progress. I prefer to read about financial gains if and when he had to leave. For £250 million, Saliba can leave today. But we are a club on a positive trajectory that will continue to dominate both home and abroad many years to come. Right now and in the next foreseeable future, Saliba is going no where.

Saka was magnificent. So happy to see his big smile after burying that penalty. You know it meant a lot to him. Meanwhile it turns out Southgate is a revolutionary genius. He completely flipped the script and transformed England from a team that plays well and goes out on penalties to a team that plays poorly and wins on penalties.

Considering how bad we are on selling it would be a huge silver lining to get a 100m+ fee for Saliba. Not that we’d want to see it happen at least til he’s won a few trophies with us.

    SAKA’S WORLDCLASS!
    At 22 years;
    CR7 242 games & 106 Goals+Assists.
    Saka 212 games & 104 Goals+Assists.
    Messi 200 games & 138 Goals+Assists.
I want to say to pundits, again, stop setting a tone for certain players to be attacked. Your platforms are dangerous if you don’t use them well. They set a precedence for players to be destroyed or supported with understanding.
Rashford didn’t recover as Saka has from the damage most of you lot have done. But he’s absolutely a top pedigree talent!

The thing that baffles me is why does England always have the easiest bracket run to the final. When you look at the other top teams, they get tougher groups and harder knockout games.
Is it corrupt? Or just luck? Since world cup 2018 or so
