Did She Kill Her Husband For Money?! Planned Poisoning for MILLIONS?! Eric & Kouri Richens

- " Amended charges against a Kamas woman accused of killing her husband with fentanyl now allege she owed millions in debt and took out almost $2 million in life insurance policies on her husband before his death, without his knowledge. Kouri Darden Richins, 33, recently published a book to help families deal with the unexpected loss of a loved one, but one year after her own husband’s death, she is now accused of killing him. She was originally charged May 8 in Summit County’s 3rd District Court with aggravated murder, a first-degree felony; and three counts of drug possession with intent to distribute, a second-degree felony. New details in the case emerged Thursday as the charges were amended by the Summit County Attorney’s Office. Eric Richins, 39, died unexpectedly at his home on March 4, 2022. A toxicology report from the state medical examiner determined that he “died from an overdose of fentanyl” and that “the level of fentanyl in Eric’s system was approximately five times the lethal dosage,” according to charges filed earlier this month." As a wife that lost her husband, to fentanyl(his friends poisoned him)this makes me so mad. She used her "grief " to make money even though she killed him. I pray he is with God now. I hope they throw the book at her

@@christinaarandall I literally JUST became a grooming technician (i love animals, especially dogs but where i live in the city i don't feel the location would be good for my own dog bcuz too close to the road, etc. So i love to be able to care for others) and I have anxiety so big change is scary to me! However, I find ways to distract my mind from those thoughts and you help that so much! Just to have the 18 minutes with you today is so helpful. @@RazorRevenge Exactly. 💯 Plus, there could be financial ties. Such as a husband who supports his wife or the other way around. Its a lot more complicated than telling someone to "just leave." If it was that simple there wouldn't be so many cases of domestic abuse/battery & worse.

I know people work hard to build those lifestyles, but I guess I’m just different because I’d tell’m look, take it all; the money, the house or whatever…but you won’t dare take my kids. Now I’ll go to prison for them!

The biggest part that really breaks my heart and pisses me off is the fact she bought the fentanyl and then had the nerve and disregard for her children's lives by bringing it in the house where they could have also died from it or the fact that kids steal drinks from their parents all the time how the hell could she have known that one of them boys wouldn't have taken a sip smh she is disgraceful
She clearly doesn't love or care about her children. If she did she wouldn't have murdered their father 💯 honestly she probably would have been happy because it would have gotten her more sympathy and probably more money as well 😞

It was revealed in her bail hearing that she had also gotten life insurance policies on the boys. Who knows what she was planning there... 🤔

Even after death Eric got revenge on her. Left her with nothing and a house she could not afford without his money. But what she did to Eric and her three boys and writing a book with them is absolutely horrifying. I just cant wrap my brain around it.

I don’t understand that either. Maybe he thought she stopped trying to kill him. Just a thought. She gained his trust somehow. Maybe one of their sons took him the drink like in the movie Two Mr. Kissels. Or whatever the name of it is. His wife in the movie tried to kill her husband and he knew it. He was upstairs while his wife made him a milkshake. She had their daughter take it to him and she said it was a special drink. Since his daughter brought it to him, he thought it was ok to drink. The wife poisoned it. It was based on a true story too. John Stamos played in it. It was a Lifetime Movie.
Probably terrified she’d go after one of the kids…an equivalent to hit me not the kids :( there was a case where a mother killed her whole family with antifreeze so sadly it happens..
Kouri is a monster. I'm even more disgusted with her after hearing about her contesting Eric's will. Whoever has her children needs access to those funds in order to care for HER children. She makes me sick to my stomach.
Before he died, he changed his will to his sister. So I'm sure the family has the kids and they're being well taken care of.

This one hits close to home. I’ve driven past that abandoned mansion more times than I can count. What a disgusting woman. She literally had it all! She was a checker at Lowe’s when he met her and he gave her the world and she spit it in his face! I hope she rots! Those poor children. I have no doubt that his family will raise them with more love than they know what to do with but the scars caused by their mother will last a lifetime 😢

I heard she was supposed to have appeared in court last Friday but they postponed it due to more evidence being uncovered. Seemingly they have discovered 3 more life insurance policies that she had taken out on her husband.
This is something I'll never understand. I don't know how someone is legally allowed to take out multiple policies on someone else!?

How in the hell can someone take out a policy on another person that says if they die, you get a massive payout without them agreeing to it? As someone who went back to an extremely violent relationship which resulted in me being held at gun point infront of my kids, I was told to say goodbye, please I beg you if you feel unsafe in any way with the people or person that’s supposed to love you the most, run, run and never look back, luckily I survived and I thank god that I did but so many of us sadly don’t, I wish I listened to my best friend who saw it all and never left my side, I wish I left and never went back, they will say all the right things to get you back, DONT !! Remember what you felt while you were with them, remember every bruise, cut etc and don’t ever go back, know your worth , please! That, more than anything else, just screams guilty to me and I hope the jury sees it that way too. Nobody does something like that unless they couldn't care less that that person died and this was her HUSBAND. A party the NEXT DAY. When combined with what he told people about her poisoning him, her purchasing fentanyl and there being five times the amount in his system...she's going away for a long time.

Ten years and she just erases him for a few $$$. How cold can you get. Without kids he would have been long gone after the first poisoning. I think he was afraid of losing his sons, so he stayed. I for one, would be fixing my own meals and drinks. If she didnt like that, too bad.
This case is so sad & so terrifying! I just keep thinking of those poor little boys, Eric, & his family. It has to be the worst way to go being taken out by someone you love & think your close to. Then, for those kids to find out at some point that their mother killed their father & they lost both parents because of her actions is just so incredibly sad. I told everyone that I never expected to live past 35, and my ex husband beat me so badly that I was in ICU in a coma. We had been married for 15 yrs.
I was 34 and it was Mother's Day, 2000. Guess whose old a$$ is still alive, lol.
You gotta get out. It's kinda terrifying, you are at your greatest risk at that point, but trust me, it never gets better. They don't "get better," or "grow out of it," or suddenly realize that it's wrong.
It only escalates.
So this woman was absorbing the attention enough to feel brave enough to write a book and you know that was more attention to how strong she was and yadda yadda yadda.
My brother was murdered almost the exact same way. His wife was Mixing meds into his food. They couldn't prove it and her next husband died the same way!! 🤬🤬. The ABSOLUTE WORST part is that she's still out there running around FREE!! 🤔🤔🤬🤬
You do such an amazing job researching these stories! This is so heartbreaking. Clearly he had some warning signs and chose to talk yet ignore them at the same time. Some people are not so lucky. So if you’re getting warning signs, please seek help. For the people that sadly get suddenly shocked and shaken by a crazy person, get out as soon as you know. And don’t fall for attempts to reconcile.

Yes Christina I too felt like my life was in danger by my spouses brother. When off his meds he called incense sly threatening to murder my spouse, myself and my kids.
I got a PPO on the brother. My spouse didn’t honor the papers and I was so stressed!!!
Told my family if something happened to me to go for the brother.
My narcissistic spouse eventually cheated on me. As hard as it was I filed for divorce but turned it turned into separation.
I left my house only because I was driven out.

This story is so sad. What a waste of a life. Those poor little boys now have to grow up and go through their entire lives without a father for no good reason at all. It's tragic enough when accidents happen, but for your own mother not to care that you won't have a father - for her to actually plan for you to lose your father and have your family destroyed is beyond tragic. Now these little boys will have no parents at all. What a monster!

I have literally been in a situation where I told my family that if something terrible happens to me or if I unspectedly die, he did it. It's not a good place to be. I hope anyone in an abusive relationship knows that there is a way out.. Even if it feels like there is not. ❤

The only thing that made sense to me about his not leaving the home after knowing he was in danger is that he didn’t want to leave his children. I can sure understand that. I just wish he had known better than to take any food or drink from her.
I have a friend who's new husband works for the Memphis fire department and they just had a baby. He's manipulated her and isolated her from her ENTIRE family and all her hometown friends. Its always his way. Always. She was even warned he was @busive but dismissed it. She's so warped mentally right now with new mommy hormones and new wifey cuteness but I'm 100000% sure he's going to progress to a physical level at some point. I can see the train coming but she cuts anyone out who doesn't buy into her rosy picture.

fact that these poor kids lost what seems to be an amazing father, and a beautiful living ,there is people like myself who are single mothers, who are having to share a room with her two kids who are preteens all because we can’t make it on our own and what I would’ve given to have a husband who was financially stable, who loved our kids who wanted to make a marriage work and then there’s women like this who’s going to murder of perfectly Wonderful man . Makes me so sick and life is so beyond unfair

I was widowed at the age of 26 I was just a kid when I lost my first husband. I couldn’t imagine throwing a party after losing my best friend and acting as if life was just peaches and cream. With that being said that lady is guilty as sin. No one in their right mind who’d just lost their spouse the parent of their child/children’s going to throw a party to celebrate the closing of a house or what have you. My heart breaks for that mans innocent children and his family. But as for the so called wife she’s Satan in the flesh I know all about being innocent until proven guilty. But she’s pretty much already proven her guilt just by her actions. The day after her husbands death.😡😢
In my opinion the only victims in this case are the 3 boys. Eric chose to stay with her believing that she was trying to kill him (since he was telling his friends and family). In his financial position and telling people that she was trying to kill him, especially after the sandwich incident he would have had no problem getting custody of those boys. Now he's dead and she's in jail, so his staying essentially cause them to lose both parents. Finally, why did his sisters present her with the pre-nup on the day of the wedding, why didn’t Eric do it before the wedding just in case she refuse to sign it? Do any one know who has the 3 boys?

This is not adding up completely for me . I’m curious as to why the sisters wanted so much control over their brothers life , seams they were way more worried than he was for himself . Why didn’t he take control over his own life especially after a first failed marriage? Why was everyone involved only worried about the financial aspects of their brothers, (and Husbands ) life ? Seams they all were it’s weird . I wonder who has the boys as well

Honestly could have been woman’s intuition. She probably has something untrustworthy about her in person like being obviously money hungry or the marriage happened so fast they got suspicious. Especially if she was the one pushing for marriage knowing he has money.
@@emakelley6807 That is totally possible. They absolutely could have expected it from the beginning. I have known people like this. It’s obvious to everyone around them except for the person they are with. It’s a travesty and it never turns out good.
