That's badass! I have 2 bearded dragons, 1 leopard gecko, and a Veiled Chameleon. Reptiles are amazing and actually helped me with my sobriety. I like Lil Xan now.
U all just went to one drugs to another , when u stop everything including weeds then u can consider sober reality living
Detoxing off copious amounts of benzos and opioids is no cap hard asf especially in combo. I was HEAVILY addicted for over 15 years and today I’m over 4.5 years clean from that trash, finishing my social work degree, I’m certified as a chemical dependency counselor assistant, visit high schools 2 talk about mental health, drugs, alcohol and mentorship. Life is wildly better and joyful. Meditation is my #1. It’s tainted now that xylazine got everyone on fentanyl like literal zombies and it’s spreading.

Yep I'm a recovering heroin addict, it took me about 15 months to feel someone normal.. Recovery is HELL!!! PURE HELL!!! but totally worth it, I was 7 yrs in July..
@@awkwardlyamy3765 congrats! Yes it’s worth every second. It’s hard to even imagine going back. I felt nothing but sheer relief once I knew I was safe from ever sticking myself again

That’s an awesome story!!! Thank you so much for sharing! I’m 4.5 years clean myself too after 30 yrs of straight opiate use ending in fentanyl and Heroin the last few years. My dad was an addict and he was constantly drugging me first w/ alcohol as a toddler and then around 6-7 he switched to prescription pain pills and i didn’t even know I was on anything bad or addictive till I was almost 20. I couldn’t stop I was so deeply dependent, my immediate hardcore withdrawals would last for several months and I’d always crack and give up after 3-4 months. But I finally got into the treatment center I’d been applying to for years when I was 36. And I’ve got 4.5 yrs. I can’t believe it. I’m beyond thankful. And I love hearing sobriety stories!

This is hard to watch- two people high as a kite taking about sobriety… to each their own I guess- but that’s a death sentence and a road back to using and drinking for MOST alcoholic/addicts. Getting high still keeps you from confronting why you have an addiction problem to begin with.. still a form of escapism.

I had the exact same thought. They call it "california sober' youre sober from all other substances but still smoking weed. Weed is definitely still a mind/mood altering substance. Whenever i thought i could just smoke it always led me back to the harder stuff eventually. Its just not worth it.

Good for him! I’m glad he was able to pull it together. I’m on Xanax but I’m not abusing it I only take 1mg twice a day. But rehab does help you learn a lot

I’m sorry that the doctors are giving teens, those in their 20’s and 30’s meds that are not only highly addictive but also hell yo get off of. Most won’t help with withdrawing from these psych meds. OxyContin and oxycodone are the same but the withdrawals are different just as this young man says. I had to go cold Turkey from all meds that included Xanax, both Oxy’s, ambien and lunesta and a few more because of the loss of health insurance. It’s HELL to go cold Turkey. I’m 58, med free since 2020, diagnosed with breast cancer in 2021 and still fighting the disease. Could the cancer have come from all the meds I took? Who knows. If anything I would say cancer could’ve come from the way I was dropped off the meds I took for almost 7 years daily to 0. Have a nice day.🥰🌸💕 Mayumi
Your story sounds a lot like mine. I was on oxycontin, hydrocodone, soma, Xanax and restoril after a worker's comp accident. My doctor died and it was kind of at the end of opiates and benzos being wildly prescribed. I found another doctor that prescribed pain pills but wouldn't prescribe xanax. My husband had also recently passed so I was at home all alone, detoxing off of 8mg daily xanax cold turkey. That was sheer hell and I wasn't right for years! It really messed me up. I was so mad at my new worker's comp doctor for allowing me, a recent widow, to go cold turkey off xanax that I promised myself I'd quit going to him and get off the pain pills, too. By this time, he was prescribing methadone for me as worker's comp wouldn't pay for oxycontin anymore. I saved up enough methadone to slowly go down off of it over the course of a year. It wasn't bad at all, but yet I still was feeling so much anxiety that I couldn't bear it. I kept getting sicker and sicker. Finally went to the hospital and was diagnosed with cancer. I'd had breast implants that ruptured and had had lumps for years so didn't click to one breast having a large tumor that started growing. I was 3rd stage by the time I started seeing an oncologist. Hopefully they got all the cancer, I still have a breast reconstruction to go through that I've been putting off because it takes 2 months of recovery from a Diep flap procedure. Anyway, I definitely think the death of my husband, then a forced detox of xanax contributed to cancer. That constant, extreme anxiety combined with the inflammation of ruptured implants, I think that had a lot to do with cancer forming.
Good for him. But as an addict myself. I don’t think it’s a good idea him smoking weed. True clear headed clarity is the only way for true enlightenment
