Is this lazy by Timex or have they been inspired to make a better G-SHOCK than Casio has!

Normally I'd be intrigued by something like this, but that "SHOCK" on the bottom bezel is AliExpress levels of shamelessness I don't want to see from major brands.

Timex copied Casio’s homework but got the answers all wrong
So let me get this straight... For more money I can get a homage that looks terrible and has worse specs (100m WR vs 200m). Sure Timex, that makes sense. If they hadn't included the word "shock" on the bezel I'd be inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt but this is just bad.
There is no Timexcuse for this watch.
There is even less of a reason to buy this from Timex then with a chinese homage. Why would you get this instead of a superior casio or just an ironman If you want a Timex...

You missed the point. The point is how this watch is just a copy of G-shock.

@@dethtrip663 there’s a difference between homage and affordable with similar design to luxury to directly copying one of your closest competitors in the same market space as you. It is a bad look and makes your band seem lesser. If anything, this copy does Casio more favours than timex

I dont know if this is a rip off, looks more line a silent colab to me. Casio has the word Protection, Timex the word shock at the bottom. Together they make the full word. Besides that... the design of casios digital watches was a rip off from timex' M490 line in the first place
I planned to buy a Timex with Indiglo BUT then Sense prevailed on me & I bought myself a CASIO G Shock
I absolutely love Timex, mainly the Ironman, I just think they function the same as Gshock but at a fraction of the price. I don't know why I can't stay with Casio, but I love this channel 🍻

I don't mind. G-Shock is looking weird to me and got a transformer scare around it. This Timex design is toned down and Casio could have done that 3-5 years ago. I'm a Casio fan and G-Shock looks isn't helping.

Casio has ripped off pretty much every famous watch I can think of. PRX, Alpinist, speed master, royal oak, tank, I mean name a popular watch and almost every time Casio has a budget quartz version of it.

Ive never actually seen a Timex in a shop... they simply dont exist here. Not sure what's going on with their distribution 😅.

But when whipping boy Timex makes an 8 sided watch, your long form video of this short blasts them. I was not able to find a similar video from when the Casioak appeared with a similar criticism. But I probably just missed it. I think it is fair to call that Timex a rip off of the casioak. But, the way watch youtube has placed casio above criticsm is a fascinating occurance.
@@DinoCorvino So because AP made an octagonal watch no-one else can? Casioak is a nickname given by the community, the only time it actually looks like a RO is when its been heavily modded. This Timex is an absolute ripoff, the double display, the small dial to the left, it even says shock on the case. Disgrace. BTW I don't consider what I said to be opinion.

But the royal oak and g-shock dont compete in the market. The royal oak is formal and the g-shock is rugged. They are also different price points
On the other hand, the timex is trying to compete in the market with the g-shock. Both has the same purpose, and simmiler prices

Timex has been always the original.
It was born in 1.854 in the USA. TIMEX discovered the Gyroscope used in missiles, rockets, cell phones and air and sea navigation. Also set indiglo light(neon )in watches. Timex liked a popular market niche of cheap accesible whatches.
CASSIO has copied Timex almost always with more durable watches. However, I own cheap timex watches that has been working for me during 25 years, as well as Cassio. It produces as much as a double of models of Timex, and set a world service network with replacement parts that help dominate in the market over Timex.

Pretty sure the ufc version came out first which makes it technically the shape of the octagon. Now the face a little rip off but not the shape. Oh and to the person that said about shock being on it. Timex has been doing that for decades. Not a rip off.
