      Love your channel and this video. I started extreme investing about 5 years ago and am working on starting a chemical buisenss (as a chemical/electrical engineer thats my wheel house) and we are 1/3 of a way to being a liquid millionare. All that matters to me is not NEEDED a job to be comfortable, from there I can then start more buisnesses but getting financially secure is key to me, had to many bad jobs and the good ones when you find them always end at some point (lay offs, buy outs, bankruptcys, etc).

      But the thing is, you have to have some moderation both ways. Its like the mexican fisherman story. The trust fund investor goes to mexico and sees mexican fisherman, he tells him that if does this and that for some years, he might be able to buy more boats, have other people work for you, create a fleet and then sell it for big bucks so he can retire big. The fisherman asks him if that's he is doing and he says yes, he is working all the time so that when he gets older he can be rich and retire. The fisherman asks him what will he do once he retires. The investor tells him that he always wanted to try fishing.

    I had this thing where I started doing better and better in my late 20's and that my friends stayed behind. Which made me grow apart and grow into new groups.
    I'm happier now, but I sometimes miss the old group.
    I mostly started applying to jobs and such that were above my education and experience rates. With a "the worst they can say, is no" additude. And it works.

      Excellent choices having a great savings and more streams to earn makes life goal’s easier but our way of life needs better alternative,at the same time, people also need to be more responsible. I know for a fact that there's a lot of people that simply don't make enough, I make roughly hundred plus a year and in California, rent inflation alone eat up almost all of what I make, with dependents and other obligations included, it's easy to end up with zero. however it’s a good time to add to existing asset holdings as follow -on opportunities

    16 years into my business and make £2.5 million a year and nobody even knows who I am…. Most of us who make this kind of money don’t advertise fake wealth, we are usually tired daily and look 10 years older than we should… it becomes an addiction to get more clients and at a point it’s not about the money anymore

      @marktilbury  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Hi, actually the point is you need to earn more, if you can’t work with the 50 30 20 rule then you’re not earning enough and you can if you work towards a goal. Good luck MT 🤔

    I've accomplished to get a promotion and will earn 90k next year, which puts me into the top 10% here in Germany at age 39. All this while working a cool 40h a week. Still, I'm not content as there are 25 year olds who already make way more money, which is such a stupid thing to think. Never before have I experienced this strongly and quite frankly this helplessly how warped my perception of my wealth is.

    • @nofancypants
      @nofancypants Před 5 měsíci

      A lot of those 25 year olds aren't actually rich - they're selling scam courses and renting lambos for the videos to make it look like they're wealthy so their targets buy in. You have a fantastic income in the top 10% of earners - that's a brilliant feat and a great jumping off point to build long term wealth!

    Understanding personal finances and investing will most likely lead to greater financial independence. By being knowledgeable about money and investing, individuals can make informed decisions about how to save, spend, and invest their money. A trader made over $350k in this recession influenced market

      @StellaMaris-lv2uq Před 6 měsíci +1

      Stocks are pretty unstable at the moment, but if you do the right math, you should be just fine. Bloomberg and other finance media have been recording cases of folks gaining over 250k just in a matter of weeks/couple months, so I think there are alot of wealth transfer in this downtime if you know where to look.

    you know its hard getting rich in Germany with all those taxes and laws I have to know and its almost impossible to even get a status of a "rich young guy" in Germany. its really demotivating when you see such success in the US and UK while in Germany it feels like there is little to almost no chance of getting "rich"

    • @MrSherhi
      @MrSherhi Před 4 měsíci

      Same in Slovakia, you just have to adapt expectations to local standards. It sucks but you have to take into account the state retirement system, at least partially even though you may not get any once you reach that age. The state here takes too much from you.

    I wonder if the UK avg is skewed by self employed paying themselves min. wage?

    • @user-mf4gz3sp1q
      @user-mf4gz3sp1q Před 7 měsíci

      ...in the US at least the law requires the self employed to pay themselves a "reasonable salary"...paying yourself minimum wage to avoid SE tax will likely get you audited...

    • @nofancypants
      @nofancypants Před 5 měsíci

      Could well be. It's legal to do so in the UK. Although IR35 rules have probably reduced the number of self employed that do so.

    • @nofancypants
      @nofancypants Před 5 měsíci

      Well it's brilliant to be learning about it at 26 rather than 56. And because you're so young you can go for the riskier portfolios if saving for the long term. For example I use Vanguard LifeStrategy 80% at the age of 33 but you could prob do 100%. I'd also suggest saving into a LISA if you're planning to buy a house as you get 25% govt bonus for the deposit - basically like a 25% guaranteed return on your investment.

      Actually spend on NHS is way less per person than other countries like USA, France, Germany. 40% of universal credit claimants are actually in work, but aren't paid enough - so in fact the tax money also goes towards subsidising companies who don't pay a fair wage.
