I have currently the 42mm, and have had the 39mm. The Oyster style bracelet is a huge cuplrit......I added the Jubilee on the 42 and now it fits like a dream and LOOKS better.
Size wrist ?
I think the Steiny straight lug complainants are a bit exaggerated when it comes to the 39mm case. Sits fine on smaller wrists, with a sweet vintage look.
Probably depends on wrist size
thanks for sharing your thoughts. Do you think that the problem with the flat lugs will be apparent on a 6.8“ wrist? I‘d like to get a steinhart next but I’m afraid that it might be uncomfortable.
It should be fine, don't let that put you off. Its a comfortable watch. If you like the design then go for it!
These watches are excellent, I wear my 39 mm ovm everyday, and go swimming in the ocean a few times a week , never lets me down quality is amazing for the price. Definitely recommend for everyday use ( keep your Rolex pristine for nights out) .
I have a 6,25 " diameter wrist and my steinhart ocean one fits beautifully! Perhaps you should've re-sized it before you sold it!
I have this watch and love everything about it apart from the 2 things you mention. The lugs could definitely be better designed. Steinhart use this same case shape for the Majority of their watches unfortunately. Check out Lorier another very nice Microbrand.
If Steinhart did this one thing with the lugs, it would transform the watch.
It's not that the lugs are flat, even though they are, it's the visual aspect of the top of the lug tapering out and staying flat that matters.
If Steinhart simply took the top outer edge of the lug and tapered it down somewhat, and removed the hard 90 degree edge at the lug end on the top and the outer side, it would soften the look. Solves the problem 100%.
Great video, very informative!
What is the reference of this watch, if i want to send an e-mail to Steinhart to request on of this? Thanks.
where do you sell a watch in this price range?
I really want a Steinhart ocean one 39 but looking at multiple reviews of the watch I’m worried the watch will look big on my 6.3 - 6.4 inches wrists. Looking at this video, it seems to look fine except the straight lugs, but there’s quite a big difference between 6.4 inches and 6.5 inches so I am still pretty worried. Any help?
Im not quite as big but i got the 41 , it looks and feels great , i bought it when it came out and havnt taken it off , three years ago .( i may have scrubbed it with a toothbrush now and again) i have a few zulu straps , i occasionally change them . Great watch , im a mixed gas diver and have worn it down to 120 meters ,
@@tomhughes5123 wow I see. It looks amazing in video and im glad your enjoying your watch. Thanks very much for the help. You mightve convinced me to get this watch
Where do you go to sell your watches?
All I shall say is I own 4 Steinhart 39 mm watches and absolutely love them all. I feel terrific rotating through my watches as my Rolex & Omega stay unworn.
That says a lot! And if I ever get some luxuary watch I will not wear it on public places because of the risk it includes.
I’m excited for the next generation that gets these mint watches after you all pass from old not ever wearing them. I wear my Omega and Tudor all day. Too poor to have beater watches.
@FyukYiu I'm sure whoever you leave your worldly possessions to will be grateful.
@@FyukYiu I agree I wear all my watches they are not paintings they are wrist art to be worn.
@@patricj951Exactly! Too risky to go anywhere these days with £7k + on your wrist!
I would like a Steinhart 42mm but the straight lugs is a deal breaker(I have 6,7 inch wrist). 39mm model will probably fit good, though, and it actually looks good on your wrist.
I find it strange that Steinhart don't change this design which has been critized for a lot of years now. Maybe I will get a Steinhart 39mm and a Squale 42mm.
did u buy it? I have the same wrist but cant seem to decide between 39 and 42. I know 39 will fit me just fine but Im also looking for that masculine look. I just wish there was a 40 version or something.

I bought a 39mm Ocean blue ceramic. Beautiful watch, but a bit smaller size than I prefer.
The straight lugs is not a problem for me, it fits good on my wrist. The 42mm size with 3mm longer distance between the lugs may be too big, though.
The finish and quality of Steinhart is really top notch and it's one of the finest watches in my collection.
@@jakubhladil5340 I am currently going too sell my squale militaire on reddit. I want too buy this 39mm steinhart instead. The 42mm pointy lugs suck even on my 7.5 in wrist but the 39mm is perfect
@@jeffd3802 damn… when I was trying on 42mm seikos they fit me just fine… but im scared with steinharts because the lugs are different… its just hard to pick one because in Slovakia no shop offers itin real shop, only online.
@@jakubhladil5340 I understand. Seiko and steinhart cases are diff. I forgot which manufacturer steinhart uses but unfortunately the cases have straight pointy non curved lugs. It's weird but the 39mm looks ND wears better on my 7.5 inch wrist than the 42mm.
Best watch ever 39mm on small wrist
Wrist size?
He said in the video...6.5
With all due respect, a watch collector does NOT mean "watches come and go" as you mistakenly mentioned twice. 'Collector' , look it up from dictionary. Nice video though! It would have been interesting to know which watch you purchased with the money selling this.
Are you sure your wrist isn't 6 inches???
I had it. Nice, but I didn't love it. I have a San Martin 62MAS homage and I absolutely love it. The logo can be personalised, which I did.
Thanks! I'll look into this one :)
Please sell that and get a spb143 asap
Which watches you want to buy after selling this piece?
I will announce soon! :)
As I have gotten older the watches have as well. My eyesight isn't as good.
I sold mine because of no date. It wasn’t something I had thought about until a friend of mine said yeah but it’s not got a date and that planted the seed in my head
No date is better because when you pick it up and it’s dead you only have to set the time. If you need to know the date just ask someone 😂
Having no date is the best thing on this watch...
