Sneak Peek: Art exhibition, sale benefits homeless artists in Columbus

  • Home Is Where The Art Is invites everyone to their annual art exhibition and sale benefiting members of the homeless community.
    The show and sale is Thursday, May 16, 2024 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the King Gallery, 3211 Howard Ave. in Columbus, Georgia. The gallery is across from Jordan Vocational High School.
    Home is Where the Art Is (HIWTAI) is a partnership between the Bo Bartlett Center and SafeHouse Ministries at Rose Hill United Methodist Church in Columbus, Georgia. Through this outreach program, local artists and volunteers help people in the homeless community create art every Thursday morning.
    Art sales directly support the program and artists. There are about 300 pieces for sale, with prices typically in the $20 to $60 price range.Several pieces by Bo Bartlett will be for sale in a silent auction that closes at 6:30 p.m.
    The exhibition and sale is free to attend. There will also be live music and refreshments from The Food Mill.
