  • In this video I will show you guys how to do a zero point calibration of the seat weight sensor also known as the occupant sensor. This procedure is required after the vehicle has been in an accident or a part of the SWS system has been replaced.

What model of MaxiSYS Autel scanner did you use to have access to the special function?

I have the same problem on my 2018 Toyota Camry. I'm using the maxicom mk808bt scanner but I can not find special functions on it. Is there any other way to fix it ? Thanks

Hi Sr, good morning, I have a problem with my 4Runner 2004, the scanner can’t do reprogramming the ecu, we replace the ecu and the light VSC, track off and check is on, when I connect the AUTEl and try to use special functions the scan notifies “”“this function is not supported by the ECU””””” can u help me?”

hey brother got a 2016 camry light hit from the back, no airbags deployed but aribag light and seatbelt light on. So i did a zero point cal using techstream, when i put the weights ( not exact but close to 66 lb lol ) it showed -52lbs ? so then i press next and it showed only 3lbs and high is 48lbs and low is 22lbs ? it said i need to be between them so i just put more pressure with my hand till it reached 34lbs and clicked next, and techstream said complete and lights are off now. My question was that wrong to do and will it cause any problems??

Yes it's wrong because you don't know how many pounds of pressure you were putting with your hand so I reality you're not sure the sensor is reading the weight correctly. It will most likely not cause an issue if an adult is sitting in a seat but a lighter person like a toddler or teen might not sense them correctly

Code B1786. What if zero calibration fails, occupant ECU doesnt respond??? (History: 2013 highlander, impact but airbags not deployed)

B1786 code definitely sets after a collision is detected. Make sure vehicle is on level ground, and there’s nothing touching the seat also check under the seat to make sure there’s nothing under the seat and if it still fails then check the seat connections and wiring to verify they are good.

@@themodernmechanic428 this info was found from the report given me from when my son took vehicle to dealer. They Said they checked connectors wires and ECU for visible damage and none found. Recommending like $600 repair for replacing passenger front occupancy ECU and say possibility the entire seat track may need replacing. Sound right? Anything else we can try first? I'm upset because I was told it would be complimentary check for the code. Then they charged my young son $80 before he left. Hes only had car a whole 11 days. Ugh! 🤦‍♀️

@@michellebeaver5982 if the dealer couldn’t perform the zero point calibration then it’s possible that the occupant sensor or ecu needs replacing. You can try going to a body shop or different shop to get a second opinion.

Useless video, if you can’t share the obd scanner you used it’s useless to find this helpful
