English learners tend to say like this
-> She said "Are you busy?" With a different tone of voice.
Instead of saying 'she asked if I was busy'

쌤! 그런데 여자 집주인을 그냥 landlord라고 해도 되나요? 궁금해서 찾아보니 landlady는 여자만 인데, landlord는 남성, 여성 둘다 지칭할 수 있다는 식으로 나와있어서요!

She said she didn't. 안한다고 말했다? 안했다고 말했다? ㅡㅡㅡ 해석이 어케되나요?
didn't 는 앞에 said 에 대한 시제 일치일 뿐, 의미는 그냥 "안 한다고 그랬다." 정도예요.
조금 더 자연스럽게 해석하면 :
"I asked her if she worked out every day and she said she didn't."
- 내가 걔한테 매일 운동하냐고 그랬는데 아니래.
