Privilege makes people turn into complete tools. The moment they have a boat or lakefront property, they immediately believe the lake belongs to them. It doesn't LOL. It's like the moment people own resources they start foaming at the mouth at the slightest "threat" to their territories. It happens here in a beautiful rural beach town i live in, people get mad cranky at "tourists" for coming to see a lake that belongs to all of us, not just locals.
@@hans3331000 There's nothing wrong with people wanting what they enjoy to remain the same and not get ruined by tourists. My state is straight fucked with all the tourists and people that have moved here in the last decade. I can't even go on some hikes, hikes in nature mind you, without a reservation. Like what the absolute hell. Can't enjoy anything anymore without hours of traffic. Can't do anything without a million people also being there. Can't find anywhere that isn't just absolutely trashed. Can't find anything here that is as it used to be.

Hey Jon, You definitely wanna have downriggers on your boat for summer lakers. Usually they're insanely deep and it can be hard to get the bait down to the fish due to speed of drop, currents, etc.
However in the cooler months lakers are shallow. During the spawn almost like where bass can be on the main lake, 5 fow. 20-60 fow in winter and fall.
yeah, thats what i do th catch them, downriggers with a spoon or sometimes an evening jig works too
Or buy good vertical jigs like a bondy, or herring style 2oz jigging spoons. Wounded frog color is my personal secret. Little smelly jelly trout magic scent too

We had the same issue with the battery in our Flex. It was new with only 3,500 miles and they never did figure it out. Got rid of it quickly!

the best thing you can do in the summer for lake trout other than fish deep is use live minnows bounce em off the bottom and just drift around something will eat eventually. but right ass the summer ends like from late september to just before ice just troll super deep diving stick baits on leadcore or plainer boards as well as flat fish

The stripey bois in KY do the same thing when it hits late summer. They will swim upstream to a dam that’s generating electricity or where the water is colder and chase bait. They’re a blast to catch man!

When the lake freezes it would lift your dock off the posts. Usually have to remove or free it in winter.
