Author Betty J. Kovacs, Ph.D., a recognized expert, shares her knowledge and passion through her books, speaking, teaching, and media interviews in the United States and Europe. She speaks to national and global audiences through webinars, keynote presentations, and media interviews. She received her Ph.D. from the University of California, Irvine, in Comparative Literature and Theory of Symbolic/ Mythic Language.
She taught Literature, Writing, and Symbolic/Mythic Language for twenty-five years. She served many years as Chair and Program Chair on the Board of Directors of the Jung Society of Claremont in California and sits on the Academic Advisory Board of Forever Family Foundation.
Within a three-year period, she experienced the deaths of her mother, her son, and her husband in separate automobile accidents. While she had studied shamanism before her son’s accident, she and her husband experienced their son’s consciousness after his death for an extended period. These experiences completely changed their lives. Her first book, The Miracle of Death: There Is Nothing But Life, is about these altered states of consciousness.
After her retirement, she began an intensified period of research into our ancestors’ experience of a vaster consciousness, Cosmic/Christ Consciousness, which she relates in her new book, Merchants of Light: The Consciousness That Is Changing the World, winner of the Nautilus Silver Book Award and The Scientific & Medical Network 2019 Book Prize.

Religion is man made but the spirit of Jesus Christ through the word is real and can be felt. It changed my life
I lost my beautiful son a year ago. Then God showed me this show. These interviews have helped me get through the most tragic time in my life. Thank you beyond and back again. Months ago, I was so down I wanted to join my son, when my grandson was woken by a hand strongly shaking his shoulder, and came to tell me. I feel it was my son. I miss him so much.
My Mum sent me a sign the morning she passed and that evening my 4 year old son at the time saw her behind me that evening. He was so. Calm and happy about it as if reassuring me from my Mum. Your Son is looking over you in heaven I send you much love understanding and support. 🙏

Excellent. I've been on this same path for many years. Jesus didn't write a book. He knew it would be corrupted. He directed people to the source of ultimate truth, the kingdom of heaven within.

In The Old Testament, on page 1...it clearly says that God (Elohim, plural word) is NEITHER male nor female!!
However, mankind (referencing male dominance in religion) has later understood and turned God into a male egocentric omnipotent figure in His (mankind's) image!!!

I think God is Energy. You are right about what religion did to God. The Ten Commandments help us keep in check the necessary instincts we are born with.
I grew up Catholic too and started questioning it as I got older. The feeling of being guilty for everything and the punishment of going to hell for eternity if I don't tell an older male priest all of my "sins". As a young woman of color, it's a strange concept. Especially having a picture of a white Jesus on the walls of our house. It just felt like a form of control to me. Being told to worship someone who looks the complete opposite of me and being told that was the image of those who "deserved to be worshipped". Many religions don't make their prophets and gods in the image of humans for a good reason. So that followers don't falsely worship people who happen to look like those prophet images and who might have bad intentions. Religion is a form of control. This is why it sparks wars. Spirituality is a connection to everyone and everything. I choose the spiritual route.
1st. Jesus wasn't white and he wasn't black or Asian. He was Semitic! 2nd. Jesus was the most anti-religious person that ever lived on planet Earth. They killed Him and nailed him on a wood cross for it! If you were raised Catholic, how did you miss that? The crucifix is behind the alter in every Catholic Church.
You are born with "free will" No religion has control over your soul. The Jew clergy & Rabie's asked the blind boy, who made you able to see. He replied "I dunno some guy who said believe in me" Go back and find a Jesuit Priest to explain the spiritual route. The one I found was an Indian from Madagascar. I'm no longer atheist.

I grew up the same way and now i have to deal with these mental health issues. Most of the time i just don’t want to talk to people and i have a hard time forming any kind of a relationship with anyone. It has to do with more than just ‘feeling guilt’ Like you said. It’s simply just what you’re used to, like a prisoner who doesn’t want to experience different.
You need to follow Jesus and the Bible ,nothing and nobody else .Catholics aren't Christians,the two are very different and Catholics have so much doctrine and practices that directly contradict the Bible .You won't find life in religion but in Jesus himself and being led by the Holy spirit .

I too went to Catholic School and the Nuns kept saying Jesus was Son of God. I kept reading Jesus saying He was the Son of Man, the nuns could never explain the contradiction.I was 14

Very true guys, Jesus teachings was intentionally misused for commercial purpose, my country Kenya one dog who claims to be apostor in his church is teaching his church goers to fast with eating for months so that Jesus will save them, he also teaches people don,t go to hospitals when sick, he also teaches parent not to take children to schools to get education, & over 200 people mostly children & women were discovered dead in his church, & his was arrested, but still he says his doing the work of Jesus,s very disappointing & disgusting in misusing Jesus, these is the world we in today

Loving others is called NATURAL LOVE.. and is NOT his core teaching. What Jesus brought to Earth and spirit-realms was the revelation and truth that DIVINE LOVE from God is now available. It was NOT accessible for 160000 years before Jesus' coming.

I’m a recovering 67 year old Catholic too! I love that. I was 11 years old when I started questioning the sisters at the Catholic school. I know what the ruler feels like. Lol!! That only made me more determined to find the truth. So glad you found it too!!💖💫💖💫

I always had the feeling something with the C church was not right as a kid I always said to myself when I get older I’m leaving it found out a lot in the last few years now I know why I had those feelings. My higher self was talking to me then.
Lol, I used to skip out on Catechism, take my quarter & go to the bakery around the corner & munch down on treats, returning just in time to “blend in” w exiting classes. No Catholic “indoctrination” for me. Exceptionally intelligent for my age, if I say so, myself!
Many of my friends are recovering protestants and we are on the same level
@@eilemoo3272 Organized religions have also done much good in this world! There are bad or incompetent people everywhere. There also used to be just one way of teaching rather than based on the different learning styles of children. Those two things certainly did some damage, but we do grow up and can learn on deeper levels regardless of the past problems. Otherwise, we are stuck in the past rather than what relgious leaders of every faith have taught - that does include Jesus BTW.
I was a staunch Catholic and used to teach Sunday school. 😅 I am glad that I found my truth now!
Great interview Alex! Right up my alley! Again, this reinforces the idea that Jesus had no intention of establishing a church, but rather provide a blueprint by which all could emulate and duplicate.
I agree to some extent,but how exactly would this message get promoted? There was no TV,films, internet or such back then. The only way to promote this way to live would have logically been a church that teacher disciples to promote the vision.
Honestly Jesus taught in the synagogues which were some what different than a church structure,but not all that different.
I am not convinced that teaching a way of life could be done without a church or some type of similar structure.
Jesus was from the esoteric sect called The Essenes.
His Church is the People who believe his Death, Burial and Resurrection.
It's religion that he did not come to establish.

2019 I had my first awakening. As a small child I saw and experienced spiritual events that I kept to myself. I spoke to the dead. They guided me. If I spoke, I'd be judged and bullied, I learned to keep quiet. I myself have flatlined 4x in my life and came back. Unfinished business is what Ive been told by my angels. My man that entered my life, has the same path, same pains and so forth. There's no coincidences in life...
Thank you for your wonderful content. I love your show and your guests. I am a non-public person, a mom of twins, who had a Spiritual Awakening and Kundalini Awakening and an NDE all in 2017. When I was seven years old, I had an OBE that had me questioning my Christian upbringing. In in January 2017 I actually heard the words “sort out your truth.” That sent me on a very long journey of discovering. I was given universal knowledge through my NDE and resonates at the level of Christ consciousness for quite some time. I feel like over the years it has diminished and I wish to get back to that level. It was unbelievably pure and profound in every way. I also had a few moments where I would say the “simulation” was disclosed to me. It’s the wildest few years of my life. I wish I had someone to talk to about all of this without going on a show. I see so many “experts” out there who have “researched” and yet what about us normal people who are actually having these profound experiences? This was a wonderful interview and it helped me make sense of a few of my experiences.
We common people really do need a place to connect. No NDE but everything else, I have not met anyone personally who’s had this experience.
The simulation? Wow that’s pretty special… would you elaborate your experience on that please… what you saw maybe if you did I mean.
I went through STE’s (Spiritual Transformational Experiences) back in 2016 and went researching and I’d found a Spiritual Forum online but that forum unfortunately shut down (no one to maintain it) but it’s still around as “Read Only”..That site really helped me bcuz it had many categories in there for people to look up and connect with others who went through or had questions about NDEs, OBEs, Dark Night of the Soul, etc…I found IANDS later on…I wonder if IANDS (International Association for Near Death Studies) offers forums/blogs for people with Experiences to gather…They have Chapters all over the place - the Santa Barbara IANDS Chapter is near me…They’re open to have anyone with Experiences to reach out to them, maybe you can find a Chapter near you?

You can see it for yourself but you must have zero thoughts, opinions, or beliefs in your head and no doubts in your heart.
This is why sages meditate in caves for many years or Buddhist monks stare at a blank wall in deep meditation. Eventually the mind stops and the simulation reveals itself.
For me it is nearly impossible to put into words. But lots of geometric shapes, unspeakable symmetry, shapes and designs and INTELLIGENCE that is vast and ever expanding. Lots of energy.
The best part? I only scratched the surface. I haven't seen it for a while but I know there's got to be infinite dimensions of consciousness within each person..

I love you all, but we are not gods
I love this conversation! It so resonates with me. I was raised in a "Christian" home, sent to a christian high school and christian college. And I just couldn't buy into the "Jesus is the only way," if you don't accept him as a personal savior you're going to Hell for eternity. This did not feel like a loving God to me. When I questioned this I was shunned and basically told I wasn't a christian then. (Which implied you know where I'd be spending eternity).
Love your show, you're amazing guests, and putting love and light into the world.
Same with me, I was raised in a "Born Again" Ultra Conservative Christian Household. My sister even married a Pentecostal Minister. Even as a kid, I didn't buy into it. If Jesus is the only way, Then what happened to all of the people who came before Jesus/Christianity/Pre Adamic Era? No secret there were people other than Adam/Eve. Alex was just discussing archeology finding civilizations that are 10-12 thousand years old predating Judeo/Christian era... So, they went to hell? I dont buy it.

Yes - my parents were FURIOUS if I questioned anything about Roman Catholicism... I now realize it's just a cult where "truths" were voted on and whatever the leaders (men) considered untrue was discarded.

I'm talking about how a wonderful movement full of love for others - became full of rules & punishments.

Are you aware that what Roman Catholics believe is the foundation of Christianity is only what was "chosen" out if a myriad of concepts regarding Jesus and Christianity. These beliefs were voted on and became what is called The Apostles' Creed. If you dared to disagree, as time went on, the "God Loving" Christians would kill you, often by burning you to death. That's sooo far from Love One Another as I Have Loved You. 😢

I was in the 8th grade in 1953, and I didn't like going to confession. I made stuff up because I really didn't do all that much (yet). I decided if I wanted to talk to God, I could go in my closet and talk to him myself. I went to the Lutheran church, later I found Unity. I don't go to any now, I can't drive any longer.
A year or two ago I was commenting about Jesus, and I said Jesus is our brother and he wants to be our teacher, not our savior. The hair stood up on my arms and I got a wave of energy like he approved that statement.

Its so sad this lady lost her son. My heart goes out to any parent who looses a child. She spoke of having gratitude. I agree with her. We need to be grateful for so many things, in our lives. On my lowest days, I remind myself to count my blessings.

Awesome interview, even though I'm not a Christian anymore, my path to spirituality was thru Jesus. As God went deeper into my heart I understood that his nature is unconditional love and that everyone has to go down a path that is unique and relative to them. We are all going home to source thru the path ordained for us individually

I remember as a very young child...under five even, feeling Jesus was here to show us what we can become. I have always felt close to Jesus but never felt I am not to do my own work.
“We are all divine. We are all that cosmic consciousness.” Yes! Yes! Yes! We are all aspects of God expanding its awareness/consciousness through our experiences. This I know is true. Jesus was an Avatar of Christ Consciousness who wanted people to embody this consciousness, not bow down to him and give their power away to an external being. True... there's a channelling from Yeshua floating around where he says how he had to prepare himself to receive a piece of the Christos Aeon and how difficult it was. This is one channelling I believe, most I reject as bogus.

I have been preaching this for years! To find God is to find the self and the only way to do this is to look inward, into your own mind. Following someone else will lead you astray.
Also* We don't need "saving."
There's a lot to unpack here... so, yes, it is correct that there is nothing to be SAVED from... except for our own misunderstanding of who we actually are.
To actually KNOW our TRUE SELF however... to make that crucial transition from the Dualistic State of the ego mind (Me AND God.. so two) to the NON-DUAL, transcendent State...of Absolute ONEness... (beyond Mind)..... that takes a level of Grace / Shakti ( The Revealing Power of God / Higher SELF) that most can not accumulate.... THUS the need for a Grace Bestower. A True Sadguru such as Jesus, or Krishna, or The Buddha, or other such rare BEings... who have always been with us.
Note: These rare BEings all understand. Transcendently, that they are a simply different FORMS of THAT same Divine ONE. Our Higher SELF is the SELF of ALL.
One might ask.. What does it mean to "follow Jesus"? Are we choosing to BELIEVE, via our subjective mind, what OTHERS have told us about Jesus.. OR has God actually, directly manifest for us AS Jesus?
God is unique in the sense that God has a way of REVEALING "His" SELF that is unique to God alone and so CAN NOT be mistaken for anything else.
If one has the great good fortune to meet AND RECOGNIZE from within a True Grace Bestower... one's life is changed forever. It can be instant or a process, but once Enlightenment comes we understand the True Worth of ONE such as Jesus, Krishna, The Buddha and others.
God manifests AS Grace Bestower NOT simply to get one's individual soul to heaven but to grant them their own Divine STATE. To REALIZE THAT which is the Source of Heaven... and their True SELF.
All comes from God / Infinite
Consciousness and REMAINS THAT at its core essence.
We are ALL the THAT of I AM THAT.. but it takes a Grace Awakening to Realize this Absolute Truth. The mind alone can not achieve this.

Sean Mahoney, 100% spot on. Why? You, your spiritual peer master and your spiritual peer group all decided what your next incarnatonal life and burdens would be. You enthusiastically leapt at the opportunity to have hardship and suffering such that your soul progresses.
However, each reincarnatee has its karmic virtues and vices which ultimately we must overcome.
The acid test is dependent upon the ego that you bear: it is a mixture of 4 or 5 different previous incarnations which make you who you are.
That burden leads you to question yourself as to why you are who you are and that is the first step in the process, finding self.
The key point is, "Kill the ego".
Achieve that and watch the vices fall away.

What a great interview! I especially enjoyed the statement about many of the wealthy people trying to accumulate things just to try to get some nourishment. I've been referring to that as "trying to fill the hole in my soul (with stuff)". No matter how much I've indulged myself in regards to buying things, I'm ultimately completely unfulfilled by the vast majority of it. It's probably a good thing that I am a retired man with humble means. Were I a wealthy man, I have little doubt that there woupd be a Ferrari in the garage, a fueled Gulstream sitting at the hangar, a mansion with rooms for my piles of useless stuff, a Rolex on my wrist, and every bit of the gluttony that I could forklift into my warehouse full of myriad items. My earthly spreadsheet of good traits and bad traits may have lots of items in both columns. But my generosity is one that I can look myself in the mirror and be grateful for such a priceless gift. I would give anything to doling out gifts of money and belongings to people in need, as well as to people who were just in need of someone to do something nice for them. I can certainly do the latter for free. I need to work more at being that guy. He's the one I want to look at me in the mirror. I'm not always thrilled to see me standing there disappointingly. Brava. He is a Foundation. He is Salvation.. but only those who have lost their egos will realize His importance. We literally die to self and live towards Him, which is why you wrote your comment, because lots of folks throw shade at what they don’t acknowledge as relevant or necessary. There’s no easy way to get over our own perspectives on needing a Redeemer, if we have no concept of Infinity, I suppose 🤷♀️, but we are fully known by the Holy Spirit and Grace will work together for good.

As we move from religious rigor ( whether it is health, spiritual,,environmental all the same)into Spiritual Integrity, our souls become more aware of the cage door opening. As we learn who we truly are and that unconditional love starts within ourselves, we begin to “feel” our own individual path. Innate wisdom is “feeling” and when based in love, true source is found.

My path is similar, I stumbled upon the other side quite by accident by connecting my heart and head in agreement and the door opened to miraculous experiences for years now, all unimaginable . My walls went see thru ,the roof had a fountain of light that went up into the sky thue the roof opening. Orbs sprayed, one landed on me after turning into a rotating disco ball, I said something and with each movement over me and upon my chest that it made I said it again and bam, a violet fire burst out of this opal with silver sparks orb, the fire was ice cold . I fell asleep but it inserted something into my eyes. When I have a good thought it swooshes. In code. I’ve also traveled to the future and saw the freeways in the sky of the future.

Can you please explain the "swooshes", when you have a good thought? I have experienced a swooshing sensation in my head, but do not understand what causes it when it happens. It feels like suddenly I don't know whether I'm coming or going (and I am definitely NOT trying to be comical here)---but a feeling of MEETING UP WITH MYSELF.

God is an energy I have had the pleasure of witnessing and so has my husband. Two separate occasions, one was seeing a shaman heal a woman the other was a bright orb flash in front of my face then fade away.

It’s worth remembering that the word ‘catholic’ means all embracing or universal. I think ultimate responsibility for experiencing Father/Mother God lies with each one of us. One must always be careful to not knock the religions that have brought us thus far but rather keep an open mind safe in the knowledge that we are all ONE. The Presence of God is within each of us waiting to be acknowledged, with or without religion.

I felt you both communicate directly to my soul. I feel this truth on a fundamental level. unconditional love is the fundamental source of creation. Let's all wake up and realize we're all brothers and sisters and come from the same source and are a source of unconditional love ourselves. it's so beautiful it brings me to tears. the future is bright and full of love when we have brothers and sisters like you! co-creation makes so much sense though! put yourself in the shoes of a father. there's no way my child is learning how to walk without me being there! i want to be there and witness everything, the good and the bad, and i want to experience it all with you. Being alone is boring, so why not walk alongside your children and grow with them for all eternity?
God had so much love in him that he wanted to give away, so he created a family of spirits who are equal to him.

I once have a vision of Jesus standing on a hill in a shamanic Journey. To me visually Jesus looked like a light beam. I asked Jesus are you black, white or brown?
Jesus said to me, “I Am whatever you need me to be”. At the time that statement didn't really resonated with me. Years later in my spiritual journey, my mind went back to that scene. In that moment I realized the message was telling me that Jesus Loves me so much that he would be, what I needed to gain a trusting relationship with him. I had so much church hurt that it was easy to find any excuse to separate myself from Jesus, now my relationship is in a much better place.

I keep thinking this, God and Jesus are stronger than anything, if we believe in their power then we can be lead by them without even needing to ask for protection because we’re always protected. God’s got our back so we don’t need to worry to much about whatever any Christian or catholic group says. We just need to worry about our own path and ask for help when we need it and be greatful for all the gifts we get.

It’s funny how it’s mentioned that in the 70s and 80s, NDE conversations weren’t happening. In the mid 80s when I was maybe around 5 or 6, my BABYSITTER of all people, shared her experience of childbirth with me and how she almost died twice (giving birth to both of her girls in different years). I was soooo mesmerized by the story I made her tell me it over and over again because the tunnel and light at the end was so magical to me. Fast forward to almost 30 years later when I started learning more about NDEs and this woman’s words came racing back into my mind and totally validated everything I heard about it. I wish she were still alive so I could thank her so much for sharing because I never doubted anything I ever heard about it and it also helped me to comfort people around me who I know had similar experiences (she was in her 60s back then).
I love that all this truth is coming out.
As a child, I always questioned all of this and didn't want to participate in it.
I basically followed along because i had to.
I remember walking in the field behind my house and speaking out about it. I said I don't understand going to this place where you felt bad(judged)when you went there. And only certain people were welcomed and I have to tell this guy my sins!
I didn't even know what sins I committed.
And I heard a voice saying you don't! And I was happy at the time, but I was like 8 or 9 and still had to go so it was confusing.
