IU always plays with words and sings with beats. You can't know how diverse she is unless you check out many of her songs since she covers many genres.

Welcome to our Queen's court. I'm glad you've finally discovered IU. She is one of the most phenominally talented singer/songwriters working today but she's practically unknown in the west - although that is changing. She can do Big Production Numbers, but some of her most touching work is her singing with just one or two instruments or a small band. Please check out the live version of "Eight." (I should also mention she's an incredible actress. Her work on "My Mister" will tear your heart out, and "Hotel Del Luna" is a love story like you've never seen.)

Yass you noticed IU’s recording specialty its producers leave more space for her vocal play than instrumentals. Less is more for IU. Her voice tone changes techniques is music itself no need for extra. Another trademark of hers is she does her own backup vocals and hums
other people sing to the beat, but with IU the music plays for her voice :)
