- I've been meaning to do this for a while. A look at some obscure Waku Waku 7 lore and how it ties in with Galaxy Fight, Trip World, TRAG, and Albert Odyssey?!
I've got a LOT more to say on this subject, but I just wanted to get a quick video out for Woolie's "Get Into Fighting Games".

Did not expect Wakuwaku 7 and Galaxy Fight to go this deep. Sunsoft officially makes some of the coolest fighting games lol. Also shoutouts to Woolie and Reggie for bringing me here, looking forward to that part 2
Indeed! Shout outs to them agreeing to show the video and finally forcing me to get off my ass and throw it together in 3 days! I'm thinking I wanna take a more in-depth look at Waku Waku 7 lore more slowly. I realized I don't have NEARLY enough research into the specifics of Galaxy Fight so I'll probably do a just raw reading of the original longer script before I revised it and a "Deep Lore of Deep Lore" because what's really interesting is that a LOT of games have hidden deep lore and you just don't notice it because you have to look...or its locked behind obscure Japanese-only products.

Both Galaxy Fight and Waku Waku 7 (1997) is also interesting because Galaxy Fight (1995) came from their mom and dad called Superior Soldiers/Perfect Soldiers (1993). Just like how Gunforce (1991) and Gunforce 2 (1994) is the mom and dad of Metal Slug. Pulsar (1995) is the son or daughter of R-Type (1987). When SNK required the rights to half or maybe more of Irem's IP, they did sell Perfect Soliders/Superior Soldiers IP to Sunsoft when they worked with SNK in 1995.

I played Waku Waku 7 like 15 or so years ago on Kawaks back in the day. Always liked it, I had no idea how weird the lore was.
New fetish? Has the guy never played Conker's Bad Fur Day? Heck, I think even Fantasia or some other Disney production from back in the day has some "sexy" plants in it.
Right but...POTTED plants. The...the face on the pot...it's pretty special.
But yes we do have plenty of sexy plants throughout history. I mean Dryads for one thing. Also Alraunes. But Kanna is something special.
This is some pretty deep Waku Waku 7 lore, alright! The game itself is one of my favorite fighting games(Tesse is one of my favorite characters), so this really caught my interest. Thanks for sharing it with us!

I remember getting some anime magazine that had this waku waku 7 promoted for the sega Saturn it be cool to have the guide for waku waku 7 and galaxy fight
This game was the abandoned game at our arcade no one played it all the kids where battling each others at king of fighter only my cousin used to play it and i sat next to him watching him play it was an interesting game for sure
Woolie brought me here, and having been subbed to the Zaibatsu since the days of Fighterpedia and when they were thesw1tcher (RIP 2BFP), it's always great to be introduced to guys making videos like these, with passion. Matt once shouted out Edgey Berzerker, years ago, so I subbed for her fighting game stuff and it's been an absolute pleasure to see the channel steadily grow. I hope to see the same here too :)

I'd never even heard of this game, its characters, or the company that made it before I saw Woolie play it, but this lore is super interesting and I want to go in deep.
I don't know if you know this, but for people who like content from japan, like video games and artbooks, the google translate app on my phone has a camera mode where you can look at japanese text on a youtube video in real time and it will guess translate it, or you can click the snap picture button and it will decisively translate it, which is pretty cool. It almost works as a universal translator, I was using it on a youtube video for dragon quest 3 nes where a japanese person was talking about their preference for the nes version of the game because the boss music was magnificant in comparrison to the more higher fidelity more orchastra friendly music. I could see what he was talking about, but they both sounded great, I think he was just more in progressing through the nes(or fc) version of the game and thus related to it far more.
I get that, honestly. Take Super C's "Hotter than Hell" into account: The original and most remixes sound "harsh and gritty", as if they were made using the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive soundchip. The NES/Famicom remix, on the other hand, has a "softer", more techno-like feel, which is more pleasant to listen to (and is more catchy!).
