first. super great tut u make... but just want to know, can i pick up the straw from the corn to make charf to.?
You may want to add a note that you can adjust the cruise control of your tipper follower to match the hired worker's harvester, it keeps from having to constantly adjust speed.
Otherwise excellent tutuorial!
Excuse me, what is the purpose of being able to lift and lower and adjust the cutter on the headers of the normal combines?
I picked up grass directly from the ground with the Spartan 610 and it is now in a tipper. is there anything else I can now do with this grass, other than taking it to the biogas plant to create silage? thanks in advance.

I don't know if it works with all harvesters, but with the new holland fr850 yiu can attach a dolly and a semi tipper and hire a worker to harvest poplars and corn chaff

how does the pottinger header work?
Hello Moose and everyone else. Quick question. Under Header Trailers, on FS17 for xbox1 there's a trailer farthest to the right. The HOLMER exxact Transport HR9. It says its compatible with the HR9. I can't find the HR9 header. Is there something i'm missing, or is it in the game just to provide a trailer for a DLC that I don't have?

Thanks for posting this video! So essentially because of the cost of the forage harvester it really doesn't have a signifficant value over using regular old grass? Maybe it's just there to add more gameplay and a different means to and end. I can appreciate that, I always want more vehicles and equipment in these games! Unfortunately, unlike the other FS games, FS17 seems to take massive amounts of time to accrue finances and there really aren't any sure fire ways to get larger incomes without cheating. I remember in FS15, I liked to sell silage at the beginning of the game to save up for a wood chipper which would then give you a respectable amount of money to get the more interesting big faem equipment. I'm more of a heavy equipment enthusiast, not so much small equipment.

If you plant grass on a field, how do you 'remake' that field again? Do you have to plow with 'Allow create fields' on or can you just plow and will it just remember the boundaries it once had? Thanks
Somebody told me you can just cultivate over it in FS17. Haven't tried it myself.
So I just tried it, you can indeed just use a cultivator or a plow and it will keep the original boundaries. Can't hire a worker to do it for you, though.

Redeye Ranger you attach it to the front of a tractor, its a much more cost effective but more time consuming version of the All in one Machines
Thanks I figured that out finally after spending a bunch of cash.now it was my understanding that you could make chaff from corn canola and a few other plants. When I got that pottinger the first thing I tried to harvest for chaff was the canola field but it would not work? The only thing I could get it to work on was the corn field. Any ideas? Thanks for the help
Redeye Ranger if that Pottinger header is the same as FS15 then it only does corn and nothing else. But I'm not in-game right now so I can't check if that's the case in 17. And if I recall correctly you could never chaff canola, only wheat, barley, and corn.

Nathan09786 you can attach the same trailer he has in the video to a tractor with a pottinger mex 5 on the front and let a worker get the chaff for you. Just figured this out lol

wouldn't it be smart to only use grass for silage since it's everywhere? and keep your other crops for what they are used for?

why bother with chaff for silage? why not stick with grass?

but cows dont need chaff they only need grass or hay? you sure ?
A hectare of fertilized corn turned into chaff produces almost twice as much silageable material than a hectare of fertilized, fully-grown grass. Grass, on the other hand, grows quite a bit faster and does not need resowing or cultivating (and the machinery for grass is a lot cheaper).
Ultimately, I'd say you get about the same amount of silageable material from either method.

I was not able to pick up the straw.
I'm just going to say it I could be wrong though correct me if I'm right our not here but I think working forage harvester is a waste of time as you can't hire a worker instead having to run back and fourth having to dump your chaff in the silage pit what a complete waste of time. Be hell lot easier if you had tractors and trailers keeping the harvester going and noo stopping all the time.

So you still can't drive the harvester yourself and have an AI to drive tipper for you? Sad.
So basically, don't bother with the forage harvesters.
Silage is actualy quite profitable
