Watching Championship Bowling for the first time in far too many years, you really appreciate the announcing skills of Fred Wolf. He's smooth and knowledgeable, never mis-calls spares. Chris Schenkel may be in Hall of Fame but I don't believe he ever achieved Wolf's fluidity and certain never worked without a color man, the best being Bo Burton and Billy Welu.
The man is seamless in delivery and knows the game. Except for Dave Ryan, poor Randy Peterson has to deal with complete numbnuts that PBA XTRA-FRAME PUTS IN. CARTER IS GOOD, BUT THEN THEY HAVE TO HAVE A DIFFERENT NUT JOB TO WORK WITH HIM? Calling TOM CLARK, IF YOU HAVE ANY SAY ON THIS, PLEASE CHIME IN.
Unbeknownst to many bowling fans, Fred Wolf was, himself, a very accomplished bowler. He was on one of the beer teams (I forget which one, I want to say the Stroh's team) that won the national championship once in the 1930s. His bowling career was cut short, which is what sent him to the broadcast booth. He spent many years as the sports anchor on WXYZ-TV, the ABC affiliate in Detroit. He also did the morning show on WXYZ-AM radio. Big talent.
Do you happen to have the telecast between Joe Kristof and Bill Hargadon? This was on Championship Bowling I believe and Kristof shot 300. This was the first live 300 every shot on TV.
Always loved watching as a kid growing up channel 7 in Detroit
this is classic!!!!. thanks for posting. Love watching the animated one that is Carmen Salvino
Especially when he misses!
😅😂😆😃
I bowled with Ron Winger when we were in the Junior program in L.A. He's still bowling on the Senior Tour at the "young" age of 74!
It's amazing, Carmen Salvino at 86 is still out there bowling in events, in 2020! Wow!
JMRSplatt Salvino’s final ball at the T of C was shown on the Brad and Kyle channel and given it’s due.
@@robs531 Awesome! Brad and Kyle and great!
As always, that scorekeeper is the quiet hero here.
Carmen Salvino puts a tremendous amount of roll on the ball.
The Legend my friend and my coach.
did anyone notice winger first name is wrong on the back of his shirt.
Announcer mentions that at 7:32
This is amazing......where did you ever find these?? I used to watch this show religiously back in the day......thanks so much!
Looks like they misspelled Ron Wingers first name on his shirt. Came out as "Roy Winger"
Good stuff, I had only seen Ron Winger on several Senior Tour telecasts when they were on TV.
Mike Wren they still on TV
His name is RON, but his shirt says ROY??🤔

I wish I did. I have heard so much of Krystof but never got to watch him roll the ball.
Which year?
can anyone tell me why bowlers (even back in the day) wipe their fingers on the bottom of the sliding shoe?
To check for any debris on the soles
Dry there finger tips
Oldest video I’ve seen of Ron winger
Not the easiest carrying center...

Saw Carmen bowl many times. Not familiar with rod wingnut though
amazing how nervous they where back in the day....these guys look as tight as a drum
Funny, the announcer calls him Ron but it says Roy on his back, he mentions it at abgout 7:35.
His first name is Ron the shirt is a misprint.
